Definitely would not recommend!!!

Amber_P, Dec 2025
I read other reviews and thought maybe people were being too nit-picky... But they weren't! And I'm no "Karen" but this excursion was a train wreck from the get go. The lack of planning, lack of complete communication between not only us but the drivers..... It was bad. We ended up traveling 7 hours to snorkel for 20 minutes. I must have missed that part in the description that we would only be snorkeling 20 minutes. We were told the drive from Punta Cana to La Romana would be about an hour and 10 minutes, which was fine with us. We left at 7:15am and didn't get to the ferry (the description says catamaran) until after 11:00am. We didn't get to the island until about 12:00. From the ferry, in the same area only a couple hundred feet away, we were boated to a catamaran who then took us to a little spot only a couple hundred feet away from the ferry where we were able to get in the water around 1:00pm. It took forever to get in though, because everyone (probably 50-60 people) had to be fitted for masks and fins. Maybe 10 minutes into the water we were being called back to the catamaran. Once everyone was loaded onto the catamaran again, we then drove back to a little spot in the same area (still only a couple hundred feet away from the ferry in the same cove) where we were then boated to the island which included piling into a tiny boat with about 25 others and being shuttled to the island. This process started at 2:00pm. We didn't get to the island and get food until 2:37pm. For the record, during this entire process, we never met anyone from this tour company. We just went where we were told to go. Anyway, I overheard the main gal saying we were going to meet at about 3:10-3:15pm to be shuttled back to the ferry. We didn't get done eating until just before 3:00pm so we thought it was pointless to put everything on and try to go snorkel again. We actually began leaving the island around 4:00pm - after six boat loads of people back and forth to the ferry we left island around 5 to an unknown/uncommunicated place . We thought we'd be going back to La Romana because that would make sense but instead I had to ask the ferry where we were going and they said Cumayaha (sp?). Google it and it's further away from Punta Cana. Luckily I recognized an earlier drive of ours and he confirmed we were riding with him. We left Cumayaha at 6:00pm. After stopping on the side of the road for the driver to figure out what hotels we were all at, the driver hitting a stop arm, and then getting moved to another van on the side of a busy highway, we finally made it home at 8:00pm. This excursion description is VERY misleading and it was not worth what we paid. On top of that, the company would not give us a refund... Which was par for the course by this time. Unfortunately, we wasted a whole day for 20 minutes of snorkeling. I definitely would not recommend this excursion. Good luck if you do!!!!

Dear Amber, Thank you for sharing your experience, although we deeply regret that it did not meet your expectations. We carefully reviewed every detail of your comment and our operational logistics, and we would like to respectfully clarify a few important points. First, we confirm that your pickup location was in Uvero Alto, approximately 25-30 minutes from Punta Cana. The itinerary provided to all passengers indicated that, after the initial pickup, we would proceed to the central meeting point to consolidate the group, and then begin the approximately 1 hour and 10 minute transfer to La Romana, as can be verified on standard maps. We apologize for any confusion regarding the total travel time. Regarding the capacity of our vessels, we operate strictly within the limits authorized and regulated by the authorities. Our vessels have a certified capacity of 75 people, and before each departure, the authorities verify that this number is not exceeded. The safety and comfort of our clients are our priority. Regarding the location of Catalina Island, it is a short distance from the coast (approximately 35 minutes by boat from La Romana). The snorkeling site is designated by maritime authorities as an authorized and safe area for this activity, guaranteeing both the protection of the ecosystem and a suitable experience for our visitors. The boat transfer from the dock to the catamaran is part of the normal procedure due to port access regulations. Our team, including the drivers, remains at the designated site until all passengers have returned, ensuring that no one is left unattended. You did reach the island; the distance you traveled from the port was about 2,500 meters. A 35-minute walk—that's the island, and that's where you had lunch.and he was with our staff and our divers at all times. We understand your frustration; however, after a thorough evaluation, we determined that the contracted service was provided in full, according to the agreed-upon terms and descriptions. For this reason, and based on our operating policies, we were unable to process the requested refund. We appreciate your feedback again, as it helps us to continuously review and improve our communication processes. We remain at your disposal for any further clarification. Sincerely,
