The music choices were not so great, and would stop on moments when playing songs. The crowd was somewhat mixed but a lot of people in their early twenties. There was also a point where I went into the water with a life vest provided, but it goes around the waist, not shoulders. I told them I can't swim. I went into the water and noticed the current pushing, I'm not a good swimmer. But the other tourist put me on a floaty thing that was attached to the boat. There was a miscommunication with the crew where they didn't tell us to get back on the boat that it was going to move, It started moving and the thing I was floating on that was attached ripped off and I was afraid at that point since I couldn't swim and the boat was leaving. Me and the other tourists that were not on the boat were left for a few moments as they moved out of the way for a boat to leave, but didn't communicate this well to us as it appeared they were just going to leave us there. They came back but we were upset that they just left us for those few moments, because we did not know why they were moving away.

I was on a Viator excursion in Cabo, on a Viator boat last year and it was awesome. This time Viator contracted Kimbara Tours in Punta Cana. The day of the excursion I had to contact the reps several times to confirm that they will be picking us up from the hotel. They said they’d pick us at 2. I don’t think that driving for 20 minutes would be part of the excursion. The excursion was to start at 2pm to 6pm. We sat anchored in the harbour for 90 minutes waiting on 2 other boat loads of people. We weren’t offered any beverage while we sat. We sat at the very front on the side benches to observe our surroundings. The Kimbara photographer was extremely rude to us as he continued to take pictures for his company of the non-Caucasian passengers and actually told us that we were taking up 2 seats and to move over all the while he had the entire front end of the boat to pose his people. A crewman who was ‘welcoming us on board’ literally said “we black people don’t drink tequila so no margaritas will be made”. We were completely ignored and 2 other Caucasians literally walked out from the ‘sandbar’ and back to their resort which was 1.5 hour away as they too were mislead by the Kimbara reps. There must have been nearly 100 people crammed onto this boat with 1 toilet. I lit a cigarette and was told to move to the back of the boat but the people beside us were smoking weed and a hooka. We weren’t offered any beverages and when I went to get a beverage I did ask for a margarita but instead got a rum based drink. The music they played was explicit rap and ear bleeding loud, could not have a conversation with my sister. We sailed to what I read would be a sandbar to snorkel about in. From pictures I assumed we were going to Sonora or Paradise sand bar but it turns out that we went to simply a shallow area that was congested without 20 or more other boats all competing with loud music. We didn’t cruise around to see any marine life, and soon as we dropped anchor we were bombarded with someone trying to sell us something while in the water. Snorkeling? HA! You couldn’t see 6” below the water as about 1000 people churned up the sand plus what was there to see under the water? Sand! No reef, no fish, nothing but sand and sargassum. We spent maybe an hour in this area that was polluted with boat fuel and exhaust because of the amount of boats. When we finally disembarked, there was no one to meet us to take us back to our transportation. If you book through Viator and are passed to Kimbara Tours, cancel immediately. I would have rather had a tooth extraction than to have suffered through this excursion.

This is great experience. What I want to say is” you better have two vodka shots first before you talk”. John, Sebastian and his team is fun work hangout with. It’s a party boat with snorkeling so you need to party, get some booze and lose yourself! Then you make new friends and go to the bar together!

This is a good experience and you get what you pay for! The only thing I will say is that I am 34 and was much older than most of the other participants. We still had a good time but the dynamic fits more of an early 20s crowd

Obsession with selling you photos and no open bar

They make you value in front of them so much good valuation. First we booked for 11 AM and the day before at 10 pm when you can no longer cancel I write that by 2 pm because it rained not a drop, Free bar of brugal cola, the rest you pay if you want beer or whatever you pay only brugal with cola or Fanta, the snorkel a ruin only sand and you just because the fatal guide obsession with photos sell you at all costs exaggerated the only thing that did in the whole tur almost force people to take photos and then sell them .. when we returned we stayed in the sea 25 30 minutes because the guide left to attend to some of a private tur, then in the van waiting while he continued with the subject photos with some who already told him 3 times that they did not
