A wonderful and memorable day exploring beautiful Dresden and the breathtaking Bastei Bridge! We really enjoyed discovering Dresden’s historic landmarks and experiencing the spectacular views at Bastei.

An easy walk in a well paved park, with beautiful views of the bridge. Our guide, Rob was amazing! He shared his knowledge, but also sought to engage and communicate with all of the travellers on the trip. His tips to make the best of Dresden were super helpful. The itinerary product is best suited to someone looking for a comfortable and relaxed day looking at beautiful nature and historical sights.
Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, personable, and attentive throughout the day—and I want to make clear that our disappointment was with the tour itself, not with our guide.
We originally booked a tour that included Dresden and Bastei Bridge, but it was canceled the night before because there were not enough participants. We were offered this alternative, which included a hike through the river gorge and Bastei Bridge.
Unfortunately, the gorge portion was not what we had hoped for. The hike was quite steep, and the area has been significantly affected by a fire in recent years. After the hike, the boat ride through the gorge lasted only about 10 minutes and felt a little kitschy. For the amount of time and effort involved in getting there and hiking through the gorge, it simply wasn’t a highlight for us.
Bastei Bridge and the surrounding scenery, on the other hand, were beautiful and absolutely worth seeing. In retrospect, we would have much preferred spending more time exploring the Bastei Bridge area and adding the nearby natural rock arch rather than doing the gorge and boat ride.
Again, our guide did an excellent job with the itinerary he was given. We just wish the replacement tour had been designed differently, particularly since our original Dresden and Bastei tour was canceled with so little notice.

I completely understand your comments regarding the itinerary and the gorge experience. Everyone experiences these destinations differently, and I appreciate your perspective, especially regarding spending more time around Bastei and exploring other nearby highlights instead.
Regarding the cancellation of your original Dresden & Bastei tour, we always try to wait until the very last moment before making the decision, as bookings remain open until 8 PM on the evening before the tour. This is why cancellations can sometimes unfortunately happen at short notice. We do require a minimum number of participants to operate our small-group tours effectively, as stated in our terms and conditions, and when that minimum is not met, unfortunately, we are unable to operate the tour.
That said, I am really happy to hear that, despite the disappointment with the change of itinerary, you still had an amazing day and loved your tour guide. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, it is genuinely helpful to us.
Great small group tour to Dresden and Bastei Bridge. Michal did an amazing job leading the tour and did a great job explaining the sights. Highly recommend for a day trip from Prague.

This was a truly wonderful tour.
Bridge was stunning then we stopped into a little German village for lunch.
Headed to Dresden and got plenty of free time there.
Van was nice , clean and cold.
Very friendly tour guide.

The tour including Dresden was cancelled the evening before the event. A choice of two others was given which did not include Dresden. We had no choice but to choose one of them.

However, we feel it is important to clarify the facts, as your review does not accurately reflect what happened.
As clearly stated in your Viator booking confirmation and the booking terms and conditions, this tour requires a minimum of three participants to operate. If the minimum number is not reached, the supplier reserves the right to cancel the tour or offer an alternative arrangement.
Unfortunately, the minimum number of participants was not reached for your selected date. We informed you of this from 8:00 a.m. on the day before your tour, giving you ample time to consider your options or make alternative plans if you wished. Our communication with you by both phone and WhatsApp clearly documents this.
We offered you several alternatives:
• to join the same tour on another available date,
• to receive a full refund, or
• to join a different tour with an appropriate price adjustment.
You chose to participate in the alternative tour, and we adjusted the price accordingly. At no point were you required to accept this option—you made your decision freely after considering the alternatives we presented.
For this reason, we strongly disagree with the statement that you "had no other choice." You were given multiple options well in advance, including a full refund, and the final decision was entirely yours.
We also find it difficult to understand the one-star rating, particularly as your own comments describe your guide, Rob, as excellent and indicate that you enjoyed his guiding throughout the day. While we fully respect that plans changing can be disappointing, we believe our team handled the situation professionally, communicated transparently, and provided several fair solutions in accordance with the booking conditions.
We always strive to provide the best possible experience for our guests, and we regret that, despite our efforts and the flexibility we offered, your overall impression resulted in a one-star review.

The tour from bohemian to saxon switzerland is not only educational but also an enjoyable one. Tofino was incredibly knowledgeable and with a good sense of humour. He made our hiking a tiring but memorable one. We are going back to Canada bringing beautiful pictures . Thank you so much Viator for recommending that tour.

Great full day excursion that gives you a nice overview of the Saxony region of Germany. I was promptly picked up around 7:45 am. Warren was a great guide. He provided snacks and also brought umbrellas for us to use just in case. After driving about an hour was stopped at a gas station for bathroom/coffee and then after another hour of driving we arrived in Dresden.
Dresden is definitely worth seeing but its rather small city center makes it ideal for an excursion like this as opposed to staying there overnight. Warren gave us a roughly 1 hour long walking tour of the city and then gave us around 90 minutes to explore at our own pace. I would have liked a little more free roam time here but overall this was a nice stop and Dresden is worth visiting.
After Dresden we had lunch at a restaurant in Pirna, a smaller Saxon town about 20 minutes outside of Dresden. The restaurant was quite good and I liked how we were able to place our food orders on our way there to make everything more time efficient. We briefly checked out the cute city center of Pirna before heading over to the Bastei Bridge.
It took 20-30 minutes to get to Bastei Bridge from Pirna. Warren gave us a nice tour and background of the bridge. He took us to multiple viewpoints which provide amazing views of the bridge and the mountains. This is a beautiful national park and the bridge connecting the rocks is very cool - definitely worth seeing. Overall we spent probably 90 minutes at the national park/bridge.
After that we returned to Prague. Again, the drive took about two hours and we stopped at a gas station around halfway there to use the bathroom and get snacks/coffee. We made it back to Prague around 5:30 PM.
Overall I appreciated the variety of this excursion - big city (Dresden), local food, small town (Pirna), and then nature and history with the bridge and national park. I would definitely recommend this excursion.

Book this tour! It is great quick way to explore the neighboring country of Germany. The views from the Bastei Bridge in Saxony Switzerland Park are unmatched. Lunch is provided in a small village called Piran. Then you head to Dresden, its architecture is unique and very cool to see, you get plenty of free time to explore the city, shop and get something to eat. Rob our guide was awesome super personable, friendly, funny and accommodating gave us some great recommendations. Highly recommend if you are looking for day trips from Prague. The drive is 1 hour 30 minutes so it’s pretty quick. They also pick up you up from your accommodation which is a plus.

We had a wonderful family experience with our guide, Ondrej. Bastei Bridge was a gem we never woukd have discovered on our own. Ondrej brought us to a great lunch in Pirna. The tour of Dresden was incredible. He was great with our kids (4.5 and 9). Well worth it!
The trip was paced well. We enjoyed all the stops, the restaurant chosen was excellent. Ondřej was a great guide, enjoyed conversation with him and appreciated all the pictures he took for us.

We had a wonderful trip to Bastei and Dresden with our guide Mirek! Everything flowed seamlessly and we had plenty of time everywhere. Mirek was so helpful and knowledgeable, he definitely made the day even better. Would recommend this tour to anyone!

We are a family of 4 (parents and kids ages 18 and 15) who traveled to Europe for a spring break trip. We booked this excursion not knowing much beyond that we wanted to get to Germany for a bit and maybe see some more natural spaces after being in Vienna and Prague. Our guide Ondřej picked us up early and was a great guide throughout the day. He was friendly, informative and very attentive to us and the other group on the tour. The van was clean and comfortable and we had water and snacks. We had a great mix guided tour and then some free time as well. This was a full day and one I would highly recommend to others.

The trip was a perfect itinerary to explore out of Prague. The Bastei Bridge and surrounding sandstone rock formations are incredible. It’s a wow moment to see it all. I’m not great with heights but I was ok and on the viewing platforms too but please bear in mind if you really don’t like heights then maybe it’s not the trip for you. Dresden is a lovely city. Rebuilt to look as it did before the WWII bombing. They have done a superb job of it. I went to the Zwinger and took a couple of hours to view the old masters art collection. It is one of the best I have seen so again well worth going in. Rob our tour guide was exceptional. Great humour and super knowledgeable!

We had an incredible time on this tour! Ondrej was incredible, knowledgeable, interactive with the group, and made the trip great. Gave great recommendations for anything you wanted to know about. Good size group for the tour. Both Dresden and Bastei were great! Dresden was filled with history and incredible architecture. Bastei Bridge is a perfect stop to break up the drive and is worth seeing! Food was amazing! I would recommend this tour to anyone! Especially those who have only a day trip possible in their schedules for an additional city and experience. Well worth the cost!

Vladimir, our guide/driver, drove us from Prague to the Bastei Bridge in Germany, Sonnestein Castle and lunch on Pirna (lunch was fantasiic), then to a few hour tour in Dresden. Vladimir is a young, fun, goofy in the best way Slovak guide that is well traveled. Being also a traveler, he guides as hed wanted to be guided. Jokes, tells fun stories, very flexible with the tour, and shows what many other guides woukd not. I cant stress enough how much we recommend this trip. If youre reading this, thanks again brothah, I'll be watching 2 of the suggested movies on our ride today to Vienna.

It was an easy hike. We were worried the hike would be too strenuous.
If you are someone or a group that wants pictures, this is a great option. Aldin was a great tour guide and offered to help take photos. He also explained the history and for us. We recommend!
