Cruise to Capri by traditional island ‘gozzo’ boat on a day-long trip from Positano or Praiano. In a small-group of up to twelve people, you’ll cruise away from the Amalfi Coast and around the fashionable little island, stopping for a swim and admiring its legendary sea grottos. Then, make the most of four hours of free time on the island itself to shop, sunbathe, or explore.

Leave for the island of Capri from Positano beach (Spiaggia Grande), or the main piers at Gavitella or La Praia beaches in Praiano. Aboard a traditional wooden gozzo, you’ll cruise over the Tyrrhenian Sea to the chic limestone island that is Capri.
Cruise around the island to visit the white and green caves as well as the famous Blue Grotto, which is lit up by light from an underwater cavity. Entrance is not included, but the sight of the cave’s blue reflection is worth the expense.
After a cool-down dip in the sea, you’ll dock on Capri to enjoy four hours of free time. Stroll around the Piazzetta, browse the chic shops, or visit Anacapri for sweeping sea views.
Meet back by your boat at the agreed time, then cruise over to the mainland, enjoying views of the trio of sea rocks known as the Faraglioni di Capri and the scenic headland of Punta Campanella. Your experience ends when you dock back at Positano or Praiano.

- The meeting point in Positano is at our stand on the Main Beach (Spiaggia Grande), located in Via del Brigantino, at 8:45 AM. The stand is easily recognizable by the “Positano Boats” sign. The departure of the tour is scheduled for 9:00 AM.
- Departure is also available from Praiano, at Marina di Praia, at 8:30 AM. The meeting point is at the main dock of Marina di Praia. Please note that it is mandatory to inform the company in advance if you wish to be picked up from this location.
- Departure is also available from Praiano, at La Gavitella, at 8:40 AM. The meeting point is at the main dock of La Gavitella. Please note that it is mandatory to inform the company in advance if you wish to be picked up from this location.
- If the company is not informed about the necessity to be picked up from Praiano, it will be assumed that you are joining the tour from Positano.
- Blue Grotto Information: Our boat will stop at the entrance of the cave, where you will transfer to a small rowing boat operated by the Cooperative Battellieri of Capri, the only ones authorized to allow access inside. The visit to the Blue Grotto is not always guaranteed, as the cave's opening depends on weather and sea conditions. During high season, waiting times can be quite long, often around 20–30 minutes or more. For this reason, the visit to the Blue Grotto is a decision made collectively by all guests on board. Please note that the entrance ticket for the grotto is not included in the tour price and can be purchased directly on site.

Francesco was great! The highlight besides seeing the sights of Capri was when we stopped and had a happy hour with a dip into the Mediterranean. Another fun thing was taxiing the boat guys from the blue grotto back to port. Priceless!

Great location and a 2 min walk from our hotel in Positano. Fausto was our captain for the day and we had an excellent time. Great communication from the company and no issues at all. We went to Capri which was excellent. Take the funicular to the main town. Recommend the chair lift in Anacapri (cab to get there) and gardens of Augustus.
We were hopeful to go into the Blue Grotto but the tide was high and it was closed for the day. About an hour each way in the boat to Carpri, the water was a little choppy (October weather) but it is not always like that. Take note if you are not too comfortable with sea sickness. We finished off with a glass of prosecco/limoncello spritz with the boat anchored. I would definitely Positano Boats and Fausto.

We had an amazing experience on this small boat tour! The group size was perfect—not too many people, so it felt personal and relaxed. Captain Fausto was an amazing guide. His English is great, and he had lots of interesting stories and facts about the places we were viewing. The short stop for a dip in the Mediterranean had pool noodles and fresh water to rinse off in! The pickup at Marina di Praia was very convenient - close by parking available and we didn’t have to drive all the way to Positano. We also had great company on our tour - the other folks on board were a blast! Highly recommended, would do again. (The Blue Grotto was inaccessible on our tour but we honestly didn’t miss it.)

Francesco was so perfect- safe, knowledgeable, funny and let us set the pace for the day. Not normal for most tours. 12 pp is perfect number. more would not be intimate and of course less is more $$. We had so much fun on our boat tour with our awesome captain Francesco! The boat was nice, clean, and plenty spacious for 12 people. We got to see all of the sights around positano and capri, and even stopped for a swim in the sea, with snorkels and floats available for us to use. As well as a little prosecco and limoncello, it was great! We would definitely recommend.

It’s not worth doing the small group tour - just take the ferry instead of paying a lot for a rather mundane, mediocre boat ride. Going to Capri at all was a waste of time and money, the shops are all the same and most of the cashiers, clerks, and waiters were rude and dismissive. Everything was vastly overpriced.

Great experience on this excursion! The captain was amazing. He took us to a lot of caves to check them out and was super helpful and accommodating. He offered us waters, soda, champagne, limoncello shots and snacks. He made sure we had great photo ops and took our pictures. Visiting capri was beautiful and we had great food there. This excursion is well worth it!

It was a full 8+ hour trip. There were 12 guests (max for this trip). The boat was more than large enough. The captain was informative and professional. We had 4 hours free time in Capri so make sure you have a plan. The swimming was amazing.

Our Small Group Day Trip to Capri was fantastic! Captain Fausto was incredible—expertly juggling the roles of captain, bartender, photographer, DJ, and tour guide, and making the day so much fun. We loved the free time on Capri, and our group made the great call to spend more time swimming in the beautiful clear waters instead of queuing for the Blue Grotto.
