Unhurried Road Trip through the Amalfi Coast

An unhurried road trip to catch a glimpse of towns along the Amalfi Coast with a personal chauffeur. We were based in Positano and this road trip took us along the Amalfi coast. Nello our chauffeur picked us up from our Hotel in Positano at 9 am. We drove to Amalfi and spent an hour there. Next, we went to Ravello where we spent 2 hours and had lunch. We drove to Sorento and explored the central plaza for an hour. We were dropped off back to our hotel by 5 30 pm. We enjoyed the experience very much. Ravello was very peaceful and relaxing and we recommend walking along the streets of Ravello amd visiting the Ruffalo and Cimbrone castles. Amalfi was jam packed with tourists and not so relaxing. Sorento was a reasonably big town with lots of tourists. We were spared the hassle of driving through narrow winding roads of the Amalfi coast and the headache of finding parking spots. Nello was a safe and experienced driver and our car was very comfortable for the two of us (a C class Mercedes Benz). We will recoomend this trip highly if you wish to catch a glimpse of the major towns along the Amalfi coast and have not rented a car.

Our driver Nello was excellent! He was prompt in picking us up and was a wonderful guide! He was also very proficient in English which was very helpful as we're not fluent in Italian. He led us to areas with amazing views and provided great insight into the history and culture which made us appreciate this tour even more. We'd request him again and again!

Amazing Way to Spend the Day on the Amalfi Coast

First of all, Gaetano, our guide was exceptional. He was so professional and an excellent driver in that crazy Amalfi Coast traffic. He was kind and extremely knowledgeable about the area. He constantly shared interesting information about the area's history, landscape, people, culture and the best part was the personal stories he told us about him and his family and growing up in the area. He made an excellent suggestion about a restaurant for lunch in Ravello and where to get gelato in Sorrento. This trip was a bit of a splurge for us but well worth the price for the experience of the day. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to fully experience the Amalfi Coast and all it has to see and offer. Forget the big bus trips, you will not be sorry for exploring the area with a personal driver.

We loved this tour of the Almalfi coast! Our driver Gaetano was excellent. He pointed out the highlights of each town we visited and he is a wonderful driver….which is great along the Almalfi Coast because of the narrow roads and traffic. We always felt safe, his car was nice and clean. We had lunch in Ravello and it was very good. I would recommend this tour and Gaetano our driver.

Everything about our tour was amazing - Alberico/Albie brought the Amalfi Coast history and culture to life for our family of 6 with his knowledge, sense of humor and stories from growing up in Positano and Sorrento. And amazing tour, comfortable vehicle, wonderful suggestions for meals annd shopping and great time of year to experience it all!
