I will write a review that is as truthful as possible to help people understand how to best prepare; my girlfriend and I had this experience arriving with unclear ideas regarding the route, we knew it would be long but it is a significant hike.
First of all, if you suffer from vertigo I strongly advise against it; on the peak it is like floating on water, the last part must be done practically by climbing, so if you are not at least a little athletic it can be dangerous.
It takes about 3 hours to get up and another three hours to come down; check your knees before doing it because if you arrive at the peak and they hurt a lot, the descent is not pleasant.
The guide showed us the route very well, took the right breaks, and was nice; for the price paid we would have appreciated a few more explanations regarding the volcano, while she limited herself to guiding us. Without a guide, it can be risky for people who are not experienced with mountains.
That said, once you reach the top the view is breathtaking if there are no clouds; you can see the other nearby islands and then the immense sea.
Recommended, but having done it once I would not do it again
