Following pickup at your hotel or other accommodation in Paris, depart aboard a comfortable, private tour vehicle for your day trip in Reims and Epernay.
Travel to the Champagne region to visit some of the most famous Champagne-producing houses. Through your guide's informative commentary, shared cellar tours, and tastings, learn about the Champagne-making process. Visit Mumm, Pommery, Taittinger, Ruinart, Moët & Chandon, or Veuve Clicquot (depending on availability). Private tours of Dom Perignon can be arranged. Tasting fees are not included. Your guide also arranges a visit to a smaller, lesser-known house of Champagne. This private tour is fully customizable, let your guide know if there are any specific houses you'd like to visit.
Stop for lunch at a typical French bistro or one of the finest restaurants in the region, your choice (own expense).
The Champagne cellars are generally quite cold and damp (50°F/10°C); please wear warm clothing. This tour is not suitable for children or those who have difficulty navigating stairs.
If time permits, stop by the cathedral in Reims, where many of the Kings of France were crowned, as well as the charming village of Hautvillers, where Dom Perignon is buried.

We visited a Smaller Independent Champagne Distiller and a Mega Distiller with a Michelin Star Lunch in between. We visited Reims and Epernay, we enjoyed some great champagne and enjoyed the beautiful country side. Our driver was very knowledgeable of the area and got us early to all of our appointments

Our guide Philip was the best. A beautiful day learning about and drinking really fine champagnes at small family champagne vineyards, enjoying a fabulous open air lunch, all programmed by a charismatic guide!

Suprisingly the visit to the small Champagne house was the best part of the tour. The tour was more personal and and the champagne very tasty. Veuvre Cliquot was also very good. And the Champagne was exquisite. Purchased bottles from both houses

We had a wonderful time with Philipe. He is from Champagne and told us the inside story of the town, the Champagne houses, and some of the notable figures in the area. He also made a nice stop at the Notre Dame church and Dom Perignon’s chapel. Philipe stopped at a gas station so we could picked up sandwiches and croissants and they were the bomb!

Our private tour of the Champagne region with Philippe was an absolute pleasure. He picked my wife and I up in a comfortable Mercedes van exactly on time at the entrance to our hotel. During the two hour drive to Reims he was friendly and chatted with us and shared some history and details of the champagne making process and also gave us some recommendations for when we were back in Paris. He let us know which locations we would be visiting and he had already made all arrangements. Because we hadn’t eaten breakfast, he stopped so we could have a quick breakfast before our first tasting.
In the morning we visited a small producer and had a private tour with one of the staff. We learned a bit about how that particular producer operates and tasted three champagnes. This was a great, personalized experience.
Next, we had a delicious lunch at a brasserie. Philippe had organized the reservation for us ahead of time. He also communicated with the restaurant staff to let them know we had some time pressure due to our second tour to ensure the check was delivered expediently.
In the afternoon we joined a small group tour at a larger champagne house. We enjoyed a longer organized tour and visited impressive underground chalk cellars. The tour concluded with tasting two champagnes and an optional visit to their boutique. We skipped this because we had elected to purchase and ship champagne home from the first location.
At both champagne houses we visited, Philippe clearly had established relationships with the staff. They were friendly and our visits went extremely smoothly. We were also given a travel agency discounted rate for our tasting at the larger champagne house.
We would highly recommend Philippe for a private tour of Paris, Champagne, or anywhere else!

Phillipe was outstanding! Polite, thoughtful and knowledgeable. We went to two fabulous houses and saw some of the countryside as well. We used him for a tour to Giverney as well and it was equally wonderful. Thank you Phillipe for making our trip so memorable!

My Mom and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Frederic, our wonderful guide to the Champagne region. From start to finish, our day was spectacular. Frederic was a wealth of knowledge regarding the Champagne region and was incredibly helpful the entire day. Dear Molly, thank you very much for your positive review about your Champagne tour experience with Sebastien as your private tour guide. It was great having you with us for a day in the Champagne region (where I am originally from). We booked for you a table at one the best restaurants in Reims (Brasserie Le Jardin/les Crayeres) and our clients usually love that place. I did call them and even wrote to the restaurant personally when i made the reservation for you to insist on your special requirements (we often have clients who are vegetarian, or gluten allergic, etc and they are always delighted with that place/the food) so I don't quite know what happened on that day since I was not with you but I think that the waiter that you had was new and did not quite understand you. The chefs there are great and I know that they can adapt and offer you great vegetarian meals. You gave us a rating of 4 out of 5, which is nice but we feel that we received this rating because you were not happy with the restaurant. In that case, we think that it would have been fair to write a review on the restaurant's page on Tripadvisor (we did not do Top Chefs, we studied art/history ;) We hope to see you again someday, kind regards, Philippe

The driver was quiet abrupt and rude at times with the some of the girls in the group. We were told that during booking that we would have a flexibility of stopping at places on our way and that was not even an option. Also during the booking I remember the person saying the wine tasting was part of the tour and we got there we had to pay for both the wine places. The second wine place was a total surprise as the cost was not mentioned before. We had two girls in the group that do not drink and they would have chosen not to be part of the second tour had they known there was a charge. The driver was quiet annoyed and rudely talking to us at the second winery when we told him we were not happy that the cost was not mentioned before. It was like a setup between the driver and the wine house where he got some commission. In all a very bad experience and would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Dear Minal, we always clearly specify in the website when the entrance tickets or tasting fees are included or not, in our tour descriptions. In your case, we are convinced that you simply booked the tour without reading in detail what this tour included or not, hence the tension when you took the first tasting tour and found out that you had to pay ! All you had to do was to read before booking the tour (...) Then you would have found out that the tastings are never included and we would have avoided this embarrassing situation. As for the tour guide that you had, I have a hard time believing that he was 'abrupt and rude' and 'rudely talked to you' since you had Frederic who is a gentleman. He is truly one of the nicest & most educated tour guides working with us for the last 12 years; he received more than 300 five-star reviews from previous clients, we never received one complaint, at the contrary, our clients always love him! Unfortunately, Frederic called me on that day at 8:00pm to let me know about the situation. Otherwise I would have talked to you immediately and I would also have sent you the screenshot of the tour details in the website by WhatsApp. We really feel that this review is soooo unfair. Actually, I notified Viator about it but they did not want to remove it since you complained about the tour guide as well. By the way, we never receive any commission from the wine houses, this is another false statement ! Sometimes, we wish we could write reviews too about some clients who really want us to pay for their mistakes...

We visited a small champagne house first before proceeding to Moet and Chandon. Phillipe the tour organiser was very gracious and is the one who suggested the small champagne house as well a restaurant for lunch. Being from the region, he knew everything and advised us what to do and what to see. He even took us by the church where Dom Perignon was a monk as a bonus! The car was a six seater Mercedes and very comfortable.

What a wonderful day spent in the champagne region with family and friends. Phillipe was extremely knowledgeable and willing to accommodate our request. We visited a large champagne house first followed by lunch and then visited a small champagne house so we could compare the different styles in producing champagne. The day ended with a short visit to the cathedral in Reims and then back to Paris. Highly recommend this tour. Again, our guide Phillipe was fantastic!

A very efficient operation! When I didn't response from the states about my preferences about the tour in a timely manner they call me and home and we disused what we were interested. I was very impressed with the efficiently We had a fabulous trip with Sebastian . He picked us up at our hotel promptly at the scheduled time in a comfortable car. We visited 2 different Champagne houses, one was a smaller petite vineyard and the other was a larger one, both in Reims. We had an opportunity to see the Cathedral as well. We also had a nice lunch at a restaurant which Sebastian picked out.
Sebastian was very friendly, professional and a world of knowledge about Champagne as well as history and facts France. A great day and I would highly recommend this trip if your looking for an enjoyable and educational day.

One of the best parts of our Paris vacation! The best way to see what is just on the outskirts of the city. Request Frederic! He was incredible and so knowledgable of not just the champagne and different champagne houses but of the history in the surrounding cities as well. I 100% recommend booking this tour. This trip was fantastic. The operators were highly flexible and communicative throughout the entire process. Nathan was the best so if you can get him, you know your trip will be amazing. He was knowledgable and flexible and came with great suggestions, information, and history of the area. He had that perfect blend of letting you do your thing and being there as a guide when you wanted him there. Don't hesitate, this tour was totally worth it!

The tour guide Frederick was outstanding! We booked a private tour due to time constraints and he kept us on schedule. His knowledge of Paris, the Champagne area and suggestions were most helpful.....and so glad that we had a chance to see the cathedral in Reims. Frederick was able to share much of its history as well. He not only made/confirmed our reservation for a private tour of Veuve Clicquot but also made lunch reservations and ensured that we returned on time.

Great private tour that included different types of champagne houses from more commercial to family run. Overall we really enjoyed this tour but would have liked to have seen our guide offer stops for photos of the region rather than just transporting us from place to place. We passed many opportunities for great photos and while we couldn't have stopped at them all, a few would have been nice. A great day otherwise.

Fabulous day in the Champagne region. Our driver Gigi was exceptional and had an outstanding knowledge of the history of champagne and France generally. The choice of makers we visited was also very good, particularly the smaller cellar we visited.
