If you want to see and hear about a Paris you won’t get on standard tours, book THIS tour. Our guide, Knight, did an amazing job of guiding our group around the city through various neighborhoods on the Metro. He’s a history scholar with vast knowledge of Black/African culture and communities in Paris and he shares it through memorable stories. We sampled delicious food and drinks at various restaurants and we had the opportunity to shop at black owned stores.. Knight is personable, patient and his unique tour was the highlight of our trip. It’s well worth the cost in terms of information and perspectives learned and memories made.
Amazing experience, knowledgeable guide, learned so much and ate good too! 6 hours flew by and I enjoyed every minute! Highly Recommend!
This was a wonderful tour! Tour guide, Knight, was knowledgeable, personable, and professional. He took us to places off the beaten path of usual spots. We walked where famous blacks have walked, ate where famous blacks have eaten and learned history that we had not known - including the black Mona Lisa! The food was delicious and the pace was just right. This was my favorite tour of our trip. I highly recommend it. Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes!

Our tour guide, Knight, was amazing! He rendered us a wealth of knowledge of the Black cultural history in Paris! The walking tour gave us the opportunity to experience and taste our Black culture! He was very friendly, very outgoing, and very personable! We were able to see a side of Paris that we would’ve never known existed! From, Josephine Baker being a spy for the French to Dr. Martin Luther King visiting Paris, several times throughout his life! Thank you Knight for an unforgettable walking tour!
My tour was extraordinary! Thanks to a larger group cancelling, I ended up having an unexpected 1:1 tour with Knight, and all I can say is thank you!
We started with warm whispers of the Parisian journeys of infamous African-American writers, before walking in the footsteps of figures like MLK and Marcus Garvey, with Knight bringing the Black experience of that era to life through stories and history along the way.
After weaving through Paris on the Metro, we arrived at the Moulin Rouge, stopped by the former residence of the iconic Josephine Baker, and finally made our way into the hustle and bustle of the 18th/19th arrondissement. We finished with a delicious Malian meal and a complimentary hibiscus drink.
Such a memorable, intimate and beautifully told journey through Black Paris. 🖤

Knight, the tours guide was amazing! A wealth of knowledge of Paris - not only just black Paris but French history as well that affected the diaspora. He provided a very thorough and comprehensive verbal and walking guide. I was extremely grateful for his steady walking pace. I’m not a fast walker and was preparing myself to struggle to keep up but he was completely self aware and managed his pace to suit all needs. I truly enjoyed my experience and would recommend it in a heartbeat for anyone interested in the African Diaspora X Paris. Also don’t worry about the 6 hour time, it flies by! I was not expecting as much on this tour, but got WAYY more than what I truly was expecting. Took the metro train, the tour guy paid for the metro ticket our breakfast and our snacks on tour. We went to some different food shops, shopping places, black bookstore., we were in a group about six of us, and we talked laugh and enjoyed our company of touring the neighborhoods and different culturals
If you have an interest in true black history of Paris this tour is a must.
See a Paris that you may not have known existed. It will open your mind. Knight was the perfect guide for this tour. Weaving in the true facts and letting reality wash over you as you take it all in. What life was like for BLACK People both American and French.

Knight was terrific! This is not our first trip to Paris and Knight opened our eyes to stories and histories we had not previously heard! Don’t be afraid of the 6 hours, Knight paced the tour nicely with times for walking and times to sit, refresh, and reflect! We would highly recommend!!!
Our tour guide Knight was the absolute best! We were in Paris during the unprecedented heat wave and we almost didn’t notice, almost :-). Knight was very knowledgeable about the Black Diaspora in Paris and made sure we stopped for frequent water breaks. We learned so much and we haven’t stopped talking about all the “Aha” and “Wow” moments that we had during the tour. Thanks, Knight!!
This was a very active tour that required lots of walking, taking the city bus and the metro to visit various neighborhoods, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes.
The tour guide Knight, curated a very informative experience. The tour highlighted contributions of Black intellectuals, performers, writers, activists and restauranteurs and their rich multifaceted legacy. Coming away from the experience, my perspective has been enriched and balanced, since as an African American woman, the stories about Blacks in Paris have been told from a very singular point of view. Highly recommended!!
This was one of the highlights of the entire trip. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and went out his way to interact and answer everyone’s questions. I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting Paris.

Knight is the best tour guide. He’s very informative and patient with the questions. Very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the history and the restaurants. Even though the train line was being repaired, Knight kept us moving with his knowledge of the bus and train systems .

The tour gave us a meaningful understanding of how Paris has long been a place of refuge, belonging, and beauty for people of color and people from many backgrounds. We did not feel like outsiders looking in — we felt immersed, welcomed, safe, and truly connected to the people, places, and stories around us.
This tour is everything it says it is and more. From the history, to the markets, to the shopping, to the amazing food and sweet treats, every part of it was memorable. Knight, our guide, was outstanding - patient, kind and deeply knowledgeable. We had an amazing experience learning about the African American literary icons who frequented the surrounding cafés, as well as the Black historical trailblazers who either visited or called Paris home. What made the tour even more memorable was Knight’s use of historical video footage and vintage photographs from Paris’ past, which truly enhanced the visual experience. This is a must-do tour that fully engages all five senses from beginning to end. Giving him much deserved flowers for the care and excellence Knight brought to our experience.
I discovered so much that I didn't know about the black history and experience in Paris! This was my second visit to the city and this tour showed so much local life besides the usual tourist destinations in the city! The tour guide Knight is a walking encyclopedia of historical facts and knowledge! He is so laid back and very accommodating! He knows the city so well and the locals also know him! He greeted us with a smile and professionalism in the end we felt we had made a friend for life! Book this tour and ride the metro bus, the train, and walk to interesting areas and most of all learn as you take every moment in!

This is a fabulous WALKING tour that takes you through key historic neighborhoods. We walked, took the Metro and the bus. Our guide shared an astonishing trove of amazing back history with us. It was a highlight of our trip to Paris.
The Black Paris Tour was an unbelievable experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our tour guide Knight really brought the black cultural experience to life for us, he was super knowledgeable, effortlessly sharing his insights with facts and vivid details. Although the tour was 6 hours, it didn't feel like it because it was well organized keeping you engaged the entire time. This is definitely a must do when you're in Paris.
