Our tour guide Matt was fabulous! He paced the afternoon perfectly while enjoying & sharing his knowledge of the foods we tried. Good size portions, not too large. Group size was not large & it felt friendly and manageable. Good amount of walking, but it was good to do between the many tastings.

Great guide with good local food. We enjoyed all the local fish dishes + a Meat and cheese platter. Our guide was very accommodating to my gluten allergy and found me alternatives at Every stop.

Walking and Eating Tour with Francisco 2026

Stephen_B, Jul 2026
Francisco was an awesome guide for the walking and eating tour of Oslo. We enjoyed the fish sampler platter at the first stop, more fish and cheese delicacies at the second stop…and the delicious waffle treat at the third stop is a must try!! Francisco capped our tour with the last stop in he basement of the local fish market…so cool!! Mango IPA was our favorite beer. Such a fun tour and Francisco set the time by being a fun-loving and friendly guide.

Great guide who make the tour so fun

Ceren_A, Jun 2026
The best part of the experience was our guide indi. She was fun and knowledgable. She also gave us a small history background on all the places we walk through. She was what made this tour unforgettable. The food and drinks was good too

Indi is absolutely amazing! I had such an incredible time, and her deep knowledge of food truly impressed me. I can't wait to book her again if I return to Oslo!

Fantastic

Oliver_S, Jun 2026
Great tour, would highly recommend. We went to 4 different stops and ate loads of different food. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

A must do in Oslo!

Michelle_G, Jun 2026
Our tour guide Karen was so helpful and friendly! It's a lot of walking but the tastings were worth it! Very generous portions!

Do something else

Gregory_M, Jun 2026
Uninteresting food selections, said didn’t like salmon or herring- first stop fishplace with salmon & herring & no other choices -very limited selection - poor quantity as well.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Hi Gregory 4 stops: 1 ,-Norwegian plate with fresh fish tastings. 2,-dessert 3,-Norwegians farmers plate selection. 4, Norwegian Beer Tasting. Could you advice us what else could you ve liked?

Deepika_C, Jun 2026
The person leading the tour was 1 month in and didn’t know anything. In addition, she did not read the special notes about my allergy so some places were not aware. I’d advise to go to the restaurants on your own.

No politics on vacation

Laurel_C, Jun 2026
We felt like the guide was rushing through the tour and too political. We were with another couple who felt the same. It was like she had a chip on her shoulders about the countries she's lived in. I wish she had more local history to tell.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Hi Laurel.. ofcourse not. No rushing and no sensitive topics. We will take care of this so our clients dont worry about it. Thanks for trying our tour, hope the tastings were good .

Matt_M, Jun 2026
Never made it to Stortorvet 8 (meeting spot). Found Stortorvet 2-7, but 8 was not in my sight line. Maybe an explanation as to why 8 didn’t follow 7, or maybe group lead could hold a flag or something distinguishing. Monetary loss as well as opportunity cost.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Hi Matt. Sorry you missed the tour. We together with the 4 other participants waitwd until 14.30 , tried to call but ur phone was off. Pitty u didnt manage this time. Thanks for trying tho.

Wonderful way to experience Oslo’s food & neighborhoods! Our guide, Indi, was thoughtful, informed, and fun. My group of 4 all loved this.

From History to Bites—Oslo Done Right

Melissa_K, Apr 2026
An unforgettable afternoon exploring Oslo through its flavors and stories. This food tour was the perfect blend of local cuisine and rich history—each stop thoughtfully curated and every bite telling a story of Norway’s culture. What truly made the experience exceptional was our guide, Marianna. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the afternoon with an old friend—warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought the city to life with insights you simply wouldn’t discover on your own. Despite the Easter holiday, she went above and beyond to ensure we didn’t miss a thing—offering thoughtful recommendations and making adjustments so the experience felt seamless and special. If you’re looking to truly connect with Oslo—its people, its history, and its food—this tour is an absolute must.

Fun and tasty.

A great way to see sights not on the tourist path as well as eating local food. Fun, tasty, and interesting.

We really enjoyed the walking tour and the food was delicious. You need to come hungry as the tasting portions add up to a full meal.

Great tour!

Erica_O, Mar 2026
I was traveling with my friend and we both had a great time during this tour! We really appreciated the conversation, information provided about different locations that we would pass, and the food/beverages that were provided. We would highly recommend this tour if coming to Oslo. Do it early so you have an opportunity to check out some of the other suggestions that your guide might give you for Oslo!

Great food; Tour without beer more ideal

Christie_H, Feb 2026
Food aspects were fantastic! Given the group of 3 of us were non beer drinkers, the beer stop was a bust. Embarrassingly, we left 5 of 6 glasses full minus a tiny sip or two. Given this, the guide should have the ability to buy bottles of sparkling water or juice. Or, empower/allow the guide to offer the group the ability to pivot and go to a bar with liquor, a coffee shop, a bakery, etc.

“Pace yourself” - it REALLY is a food tour

Cian_L, Oct 2025
Saw the pictures of the waffles and decided to book the tour. Arrived early at the meeting spot to see the tour guide was there. They made introductions and we were quick to set off. The food was all local with a story behind the origin of each spot. They also gave us some of the history behind Oslo as we moved between spots. It was easy to make conversation with the guides themselves. Every place I’d recommend to family and friends to eat. They wouldn’t be something I’d pick out for myself and my partner to go for lunch or dinner. We definitely feel like we’ve got our moneys worth.

My food walking tour was really great! My tour guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and friendly. All of the local foods I tried were delicious and decent sized portions. I was happy that as a solo traveler and the only one on the tour, they didn't cancel it on me. I highly recommend this tour.

Fun and worthwhile tour with delicious food. Thanks, Casper!

Christopher_D, Oct 2025
Booking the tour was easy and the directions to the start were accurate. My wife and I were the only customers on the tour and our guide was Casper. He is really friendly and knowledgeable. It was like being shown around Oslo by a new friend. He gave us some history about Oslo and the couple of tourist sites and neighbourhoods that we stopped at but not intense/dry historical facts. He kept it light and interesting. (I really like history but this isn't advertised as a purely historical tour so the balance was good.) The food at each stop was very well chosen for variety and quality. We really enjoyed it all. When you spend a few hours with somebody, especially in a very small group, it's really important that that person has good people skills and makes you relaxed and makes the experience enjoyable. Casper is a great guide, he really made the experience fun. Compared to some tours in other European countries we have visited it seems quite expensive but considering the quality of the food, and the high cost of stuff in Oslo in general, we found this tour 100% worth the money. Casper didn't make us feel rushed at all. Thanks, Casper! We would recommend this to visitors to Oslo.

It was a good tour through the history of Norway and Oslo while stopping to eat food. Definitely recommend pacing yourself as there is a lot of food. The Norwegian waffle was delicious.

Do it!

Janae_S, Aug 2025
Really great walking tour with lots of information and yummy food we wouldn’t have tried on our own.

Interesting facts and great food!

Cheryl_B, Aug 2025
This is a great little walking tour that takes you to a part of the city other tours do not. Lisa, our guide, has a lot of interesting facts to share as well as tips of other places to see. The food was great. A little heavy on the seafood for me, but the farm to table restaurant and the waffles were awesome!

Eleonora was excellent - informative and fun. Finishing the tour with a hot dog was curious choice. Group was a little large with 18 people but Eleonora worked to connect with everyone.
