This was an excellent tour! Nikki was very informative and I felt like we saw so many things within our time on the tour. She also took us to a cool local place to have a beer! It was great! A private tour is worth the money!!!!

The walk was generally enjoyable as the guide shared some local culture etc. However, post tour, we realized that certain historical facts shared by R were not accurate. Another tour guide overheard him and corrected him, which was quite awkward. Understandable that R is young and this is his “part time job” so we took his sharing with a pitch of salt.

We arrived in Regensburg for a River Cruise and wanted to see Nuremburg. The ship sponsored tour was 10.5 hours so we wanted to have a shorter tour but still see a lot. Fridge gave us a great private tour curated for the things we wanted to see. He is very knowledgeable and flexible so we got to do what we wanted to do. It was just our small group of 6 and we saw everything the larger tour saw but in less time as we did not have to wait for a large group. We had many questions and he was able to answer all of them. The he put us back on the train and made sure we got back to Regensburg. Great tour and Fedo made it special to us.

Nadia was amazing. She met us in Old Town and gave us an amazing overview of the history of Nuremberg. She also explained to us the Nazi history of the City. Today was our most favorite tour of all the European tours because Hadia went beyond our requested tour.

What a disappointment. I have used Viator for years to book tours like these with local city guides. They have always been fabulous until this one. This was a private tour and ahead of time (as asked) I related some of our interests and a request to see and learn about the highlights of the city. Our tour guide “A” was late and had trouble finding us even though I told her we were in front of our Lady church facing the HaupMarket and sent a live pin. She told us one story about the fountain in the market but that was the last information. As we walk from the market to the Palace we asked her questions about when it was built and any facts or stories of interest she didn’t know or offer up any information other than it was medieval and closed to visitors. We learned more from the info plaque at the top of the hill. We explained that we were used to learning a little about the history and significant events at a place and she said that if she knew that she would have googled something and memorized it for us. She had clearly not trained or had any relevant experience in the area or being a guide. She didn’t seem to have any interests in the area either. She had just planned to walk us to the palace, St Lawrence church snd a portion of the old gate with shops. Which would have been an ok agenda if she had been telling us something about each venue. We can navigate a map. It felt like we had an extra person following us as we read the info plaques. It was very awkward so we thanked her and let her go about 35 minutes into the tour. This is not the level of service I expect from Viator guides snd for this price point of a private tour.

Tour guide was 20 mins late .Tried to tell us he was there We were exactly where we were told to be

The guide was told in advance of my special interest in seeing two important WWII sites in Nuremberg. Her response was to provide misinformation about access to the sites and what one would see there. I decided before we set off that her knowledge of the sites was extremely limited and she probably preferred to do a simple walk through the historical quarter- thus ignoring my preferences. This is not at all what I expected from a “customized private historical tour”. Very disappointing and misleading.

Inexperienced guide. Took us to 12 different locations, but provided little detail, no historical background. We were so disappointed. We were able to customize the tour which was nice. Yet so disappointed.

Peter was our guide on August 5th and was excellent. We walked the old town and he had many stories to share about the town, art and great recommendations. Introduced us to fabulous gingerbread, sausages/local beer and finished at the castle. Wish we would have gotten a copy of the castle selfie we took! Our teen was jet lagged, but even he enjoyed the tour.

No need to buy tickets ahead of time. It’s easy to buy them at the ticket stand right by the tram. It was a good first excursion in the city, helped us decide what else we wanted to see. Good value.

Our guide, Esteban, did a great and excellent job. Very well known in the city and showed us great places and told us a lot of history. Send us several pictures and also recommended books and movies. We had a great time with him. We booked the tour for two hours and ended up doing six hours. Great experience and we highly recommend Esteban.

This review excludes the personality of the tour guide who was very nice.
The tour guide was not a local and had only lived in the city for a year. First, it was hard to understand her as English nor German was her first language. Second, she spoke maybe 50 words during 3 hours, those words being there is a church, there is a shop. She knew nothing of anything. I learned 0 history. We aimlessly walked around for 3 hours. I flew half way across the world to learn about Nuremberg and learned not one thing. I think I even taught her things. I learned more during my 5 minute red train ride around the city than during this tour. I would never book this tour again.

I would give a Zero but option not given. Do not book this tour or any other with this company! They canceled our tour 1 hour before it was due to begin and are denying our refund after confirming that they would refund in full due to their error and inability to show.
Disappointed in Viator for not completing the refund as well

Did a day trip to Nuremberg from Munich. I was fortunate to have been connected with Jason. The tour he gave me was absolutely wonderful. It was just me and him the whole tour, so it was very curated tour to say the least.
In the beginning he asked me if there was anything I wanted to see with our 4 hour tour time, but I asked him if he could just to show me whatever he thought was best, and boy, did he deliver. He took me to some amazing sight seeing areas, provided great history lessons, and gave me future ideas for when the best time of the year to visit the area the next time I come down was.
He gives you a tour of Nuremberg Castle and the surrounding area from the perspective of a German but considering he's American it made communicating with him about questions that I had super easier for me.
We connected on a personal level immediately upon meeting and being a solo traveler and not being able to speak fluent German in the least, was incredibly refreshing. It really put me at ease during our tour.
If you're looking for the best tour guide on Viator and you're in the Nuremberg area, Jason is your man!

We came to Nurnberg for the weekend. The guide confirmed he would meet us.
Then at 0835 for a 1000 tour he suddenly cancelled. No explanation.
To compare this to other tours ...
Booked a group guided tour of the old town, via tourist office, booked tour of the underground castle defenses, went to other museums. Everything was good and we had a great time with other tours during our weekend. All the other tours went ahead. I would not advise relying on this operator / tour if time is short.

Great day with a local. Manfred was very knowledgeable and took us to places like we were long lost friends. The tour was booked 3 hours, but lasted 6 including having a nice lunch and discussion local and international norms and politics. I had a great time, Learned a lot about Nuremberg and now have a friend. I certainly Recommend Manfred for future tours.

We were so lucky to get Sandra Chue as our tour guide on our private tour in Nuremberg. We had a lovely walk around the town with her as she gave us a detailed history of Nuremberg & pointed out the important buildings & churches. She is extremely knowledgeable & well informed on German history plus being a very interesting person herself. I highly recommend taking a private tour & asking for Sandra.

In every town we visit we always hire a personal tour guide to help explain local cultures, customs, and history. The young lady we had, while she was nice, was absolutely awful as a tour guide. She was from Spain and didn't even speak proper German, so she couldn't read inscriptions on monuments for us. Nor could she fully speak English, as requested, so she didn't know how to properly express the things she was trying to say. She couldn't answer any of our questions, and was more interested in showing us shops and gardens vs the German history we were there to take in. I would give her a zero review if I could. I can not believe we wasted our hard working money on this tour. We are beyond dissatisfied.

I am sorry to hear that your tour did not go as you expected. From your review, it seems as if perhaps you would have preferred a professionally guided tour rather than a Lokafy tour. In all of our information, we outline that we provide unscripted walking tours through a city with a local - just as you would see a city if you had a friend showing you around. Lokafy allows travelers to connect with locals, and learn about the city from their perspective; things like what it's like to live there, advice on their favorite restaurants, and also connecting on a personal level. As for the Lokafyer not being German, We screen applicants extensively but do not require them to be natives of the city. Generally speaking, we find our international Lokafyers have a special connection to their cities as they have chosen to call them home. As they are not professional tour guides, we do not require Lokafyers to have a detailed knowledge of the city’s history.
