We really enjoyed our Nuremberg tour. Our guide Natasha was really friendly, and really knowledgeable of Nuremberg, it's history and it's part in WW2. It was a four hour tour, but didn't feel long, because it was so interesting and enjoyable. There was also a break for a short lunch in the middle. We would totally recommend this combined Nuremberg tour and Natasha as a guide!!

Itinerary

This tour begins in front of Nuremberg Central Station. Meet the guide and the rest of the tour group and roam through the city’s Old Town, admiring the beautiful timber-framed houses and cobblestone streets. Marvel at the massive City Walls of Old Town Nuremberg, which still run for approximately four kilometers.

Behind the walls, walk past the Craftsmen's Courtyard, where glass cutters, leather workers, gold and silversmiths, stained-glass painters and other artisans offer their wares for sale. See the gothic St. Lawrence Church, which was rebuilt after World War II; Nürnberger Christkindlesmarkt, Germany’s most famous Christmas market; plus Town Hall, German Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer's house and the Imperial Castle courtyards, to name just some of the attractions.

Along the way, learn about the history of this beautiful and prosperous city — as the center of the Holy Roman Empire, to the days of the German Renaissance, the Temple City of the Third Reich, and the home to both the Nazi rallies and Nuremberg Trials.

See where German Emperors were crowned and where saints are buried. Find where the most famous and talented German artisans in history created their awe-inspiring works and where the colorful and lively markets have taken place for almost 700 years.

Then hop on the city’s public transportation (bus or train) to see the Nazi party rally grounds. Discover the Great Street, designed by architect Albert Speer to be the central axis of the rally grounds, and the half-finished Congress Hall of the Nazi Party, a building Hitler planned to use for party meetings. There’s also the largest Third Reich buildings, where Hitler inspected members of the SS, and the Documentation Center, a museum with exhibits on vital wartime and post-war events, like the Nuremberg Trials.

Feel free to stay at the Documentation Center for a longer visit, or return to central Nuremberg to conclude the tour.

Great tour!

Hannes was a great guide. The tour was well organised and explained the plan of action clearly. It was very informative. Can highly recommend.

Not great

Amber_D, Dec 2025
The tour did not go to the Rally Grounds. It was very deceiving where the tour would go. And, the group was HUGE and there were no speakers, so it was very difficult to hear what was being said.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Sorry you were disappointed in the tour, but it doesn’t actually sound like you were on our tour. This tour went to the rally grounds, just as the title says it does. As far as the group being HUGE, it was a sold out tour of 20 for that tour. Saturdays during the Christmas markets are by far the busiest (and loudest) days of the year in Nuremberg. If you are trying to avoid the crowds, I would strongly recommend avoiding weekends during the Christmas markets.

Highly recommend

Maree_M, Dec 2025
Our tour guide was Hannes (John) Ziener and he was exceptional. His knowledge about all things Nuremberg was incredible. He loved history and it showed in the information he shared. 4hrs was a long time for a walking tour but it was worth the effort. We covered a lot of ground. I would highly recommend this tour, and hopefully you may be lucky enough to have Hannes as your guide.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thanks so much for your review and glad you enjoyed your time with Hannes!

Perfect look at Prague

Marthel_C, Dec 2025
We thoroughly enjoyed Petr our guide, he was funny and very informative, groups are max 24 so you can easily keep up and hear what is being said. He covered most of the major parts of town

Response from Host, Feb 2026

One of the best tours we’ve been on. Nick was engaging, knowledgeable, funny and enthusiastic. His varied delivery style captured the whole group and made his stories come alive. Brilliant and would highly recommend

Informative and well paced

Terry_B, Dec 2025
Although it was a 4 hour trip don't be put off. The first 2 hours was a walking tour of Nuremberg. The next 2 were dedicated to the Third Reich walk. We took a bus to the Rally grounds which was for about 20 mins so a good time to rest. Nick our guide was amazing. Well informed, humorous and the pace was perfect.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your postive review!

Great tour!!

Jennifer_S, Nov 2025
Nikolas was the best!! He was so knowledgeable in regards to both the history of Nuremberg and the WW2 locations we visited. He was very kind and funny and was even so caring to make sure we made it to our train to go back to Munich. Above and beyond. A well spent day!

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Walking tour Nuremberg

Emma_S, Oct 2025
Excellent walking tour with Hennes! He was very informative about Nuremberg history, architecture, and culture. His enthusiasm was infectious and even though we were walking on a rainy day, he made sure we were all okay! Be prepared to walk uphill to the castle! Enjoy this tour!

Response from Host, Feb 2026

An entertaining and educational story

Joan_M, Oct 2025
Nick was the best guide. He spent an extra hour with us he both educated and entertained us. He was open to questions and we learned much about Nuremberg and its history both the good and the bad. I had been to many of the places before through the years but stayed with the tour because of his exceptional storytelling

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed the tour so much!

Far Exceeded Expectations!

Lara_G, Sep 2025
Our tour guide Niklas was fabulous, super knowledgeable and engaging. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone, not just WW2 or history buffs. I loved the perfect balance of learning about the medieval history of the old town in the morning and then also getting extra time at the Rally Grounds in the afternoon. The time flew by so fast and I learned so much! I especially appreciated all of the photos that Niklas showed us along the tour route to make amazing connections to the past.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your review and recommending our tour!

The Old town and rally grounds

Gail_W, Sep 2025
Tour consists of public transport to Rally Grounds. Rally grounds was a.. little disappointing not as envisaged.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your five-star review! The rally grounds do indeed look different now but at the end of the day that's a good thing.

A Good Day in Old Town

Eitan_A, Sep 2025
A good overview of Old Town . Wish we had more time at the Rally Grounds. A lot of walking but the weather was great. We felt like Dimitri could have shown a little more energy and investment when he was speaking.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your review. We try to split the time evenly between the old town and rally grounds but there is of course more to see than we can cover in one tour.

Carl_E, Sep 2025
Hannes was very knowledge, and interesting. We had a great tour of old town with a 30 minute stop to grab lunch, then on to a nice tour of the Nazi party grounds.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Great overview of...

Teresa_J, Aug 2025
Great overview of Nuremberg and the sites during the first part of the walking tour. We didn't think that the visit to the rally grounds was worth the time.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for leaving a review. Not everyone is interested in the rally grounds which is why we also offer an old town only tour option.

Walking Tour around Nuremberg including the Nazi Rally Grounds

Keith_S, Aug 2025
You need to be fit enough to walk for circa 4 hours. Be warned the first part of the tour climbs through the old city of Nuremberg up to the Castle, as we are in our mid to late 70's this was quite challenging. Natasha the Guide was superb her Scottish origins certainly meant her English was both smooth and articulate, she made the medieval section of the tour interesting when it could have been quite 'dry'.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your review! If you book a 4-hour walking tour it is highly recommended that you be fit enough to walk for 4 hours. However, the 4 hours does include a lunch break and transportation to and from the rally grounds so you're not really on your feet the entire time.

We wanted to do a weekday...

Anna_G, Aug 2025
We wanted to do a weekday tour in English and last minute signed up for this one. We are so happy we did. We spent yesterday walking around Nürnberg seeing some of the places that we did today, but our tour guide, Nick, did a fantastic job of educating on so much. He was informative, funny and just all around great! He gave us great recommendations and was easy to talk to. I would recommend this to anyone visiting for the first time or the 40th time!

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your enthusiastic review!

Excellent tour of Nuremberg.

Susan_R, Jul 2025
The guide, Nick was extremely knowledgeable about the city. He had a good sense of humor and worked beautifully with all the different types of people in the tour.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your five-star review!

A tour worth taking

CatherineMary_J, Jun 2025
Natasha was very knowledgeable. We toured the old section of Nuremberg and she managed to answer all questions everyone had for her. We were excited to see this part of the world and learn more about it. Natasha didn’t disappoint! We would definitely recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for recommending our tour!

Excellent

Excellent tour and tour guide. The tour covered a wide range of topics and places. Recommend. Know that the tour will likely not end at the specified time. Ours ended 35 minutes after the designated end time.

So much you don't know about Nurnberg

Chris_B, May 2025
Dimitri was exceptional in his knowlege of Nurnberg and history. It was a fun and educational day. He even showed us a "secret" passage where we could walk on top of the medeval wall and look down on the old town.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thanks for leaving a five-star review!

Outstanding tour and outstanding tour guide

Karst_B, May 2025
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept the conversation going, ensuring that everyone on the tour stayed engaged. Fantastic coordination of both bus and train to get where we need to go easily. Very interesting tour and would recommend this to my friends who come here.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for coming on our tour and your nice review!

Can You Talk Louder?

William_C, Apr 2025
Need sound system. A group walking after a guide does not hear what is being said very easily. In fact, much is missed.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Very sorry you had trouble hearing our guide. In that situation, it would be more effective to ask the guide during the tour to talk louder, rather than asking after the tour as part of a review.

Perfect overview of the Old Town and Nazi rally grounds.

ChrisStewart_M, Apr 2025
Nick was well educated on everything he showed. It was a perfect way to see the city. A perfect overview of the old town history and Nazi rally information. I highly recommend. Nick usually does private tours, but he was filling in on our tour, we were very thankful he did.
