Cruise ship passengers: Please message Hawke's Bay Scenic Tours before making a booking. Depending on your ship’s arrival and departure times, we may need to adjust the tour to 3 wineries with a semi-lunch option, as shore time schedules sometimes do not allow the full itinerary. If your ship arrives early or has a short port stay, please consider our Shore Excursion Winery Tour, where we guarantee visits to 2 premium wineries along with Napier sightseeing, with no compromise on quality.

Guide picked up everyone late with some people waiting over an hour. When driving to the vineyard she said she couldn’t talk to us and drive as she had no microphone. She was difficult to understand and reprimanded me for contacting the company to let them know. She then informed me she was cancelling my tour. I have booked 8 different trips in the last month and enjoyed all but this one. Do not use

Hi Brenda,
We have carefully investigated this matter and would like to provide a clear and honest response. Our findings show that only one guest arrived late, resulting in a brief delay of approximately five minutes. As this was a shared tour, such minor delays can occasionally occur and are generally understood by all participants.
However, during the tour, your behaviour was reported as disruptive and distressing to both the guide and other guests. Our guide found it difficult to manage the group effectively due to the situation and felt uncomfortable. Additionally, the first winery raised concerns about the atmosphere being negatively impacted.
Despite this, we continued with the itinerary and took you to a second winery for tasting. Unfortunately, the concerns regarding your conduct persisted. More seriously, it has been reported that you made physical contact with our guide in a manner that is unacceptable under any circumstances.
At that point, our company manager made the decision to support the guide in ending your participation in the tour and arranging transport back, so the remainder of the group could continue and enjoy their experience. Following this, the rest of the group was able to relax and complete the tour, which is reflected in the positive feedback received from other guests on the same tour.
We take the safety and wellbeing of our staff and guests very seriously. Physical aggression towards our team is not tolerated under any circumstances.

A tour by small air-conditioned minibus (mind your head!) visiting 4 vineyards. The list used may differ based on vineyards tasting availability. We sampled 19 wines. The lunch cheese charcuterie was good. Plenty of food for everyone. Convenient hotel pick-up.

The tour was well spaced between the four wineries. We learned a lot of history. We were most fortunate to have one of the proprietors of the Brookfield winery do the presentation with us. She was fabulous. We had a lovely driver whose name I can’t remember, but her mother lives in Edmonton Alberta Canada. The whole thing was very very nice.

Some lovely wineries visited and drinks tested. Good knowledgeable guide. Some disorganisation evident though when one spot was closed!

Our tour guide Samir was friendly and knowledgeable. She even provided a list of additional recommended activities for Napier. We enjoyed our tour with her very much. The wineries and the wines were very good. The nibbles at Pask winery were delicious although we were expecting a more substantial lunch as part of the tour. Pick up and drop off at our airbnb was much appreciated.

This was a really gorgeous wine tour with our guide Simar.
We went to 4 spectacular Hawke’s Bay winery’s, along with a super yummy cheese platter at the second winery and the gift of a wine glass at our last winery.

Wonderful way to spend a day in Hawkes Bay! Even driving around picking up the other people on the tour is fun as you get to know them.
Plenty if different people from different backgr6, and different wineries all with excellent wines to taste.
And the food provided by Pasks was superb!

Great tour, really good variety of wineries with lots of tasting samples and great pizza for lunch. All the wineries and hosts were great but Sharon at Brookfield really stood out due to the family run business and their long standing passion.
Pizza at Shed 530 was delicious too. Kirsty our tour guide was wonderful, warm, friendly and knowledgeable and kept the tour well on track. Would definitely recommend!

A very nice wine tasting experience and our guide, Simar was knowledgeable and we were very comfortable and welcomed by her. A good variety of wineries, however the lunch platter was less than we expected for the price.

This was a great wine tour because the group was small and our tour guide Anil was very kind and knowledgeable about the region.
We had the opportunity to go to 4 wineries, and taste 20+ wines. The cheese/charcuterie platter was nice as well! Would have liked to be able to walk outdoors a little more among the vineyards themselves. But overall a great experience!

This was a second wine tour on our holiday and was different to our Wiaheke wine tour but was still excellent. Firstly, it was good to chat and meet other people, there were 14 people on our tour and three wineries in we became very chatty and it was great fun. We did three wineries and one brewery and had a fabulous lunch at the brewery. All wineries were great but Mission was my favourite and we ended up buying three wines there! Our guide was excellent and overall it was a great experience and value for money… PS. We tasted some great wines!

This was a great experience at some of the local wineries. Our driver was kind, knowledgeable, and kept us on pace to be sure we had adequate time at each stop. Even though we were unable to go to one of the wineries, they told us ahead of time and let us know the alternative stop would be a brewery instead. It actually was a nice break from the wine, and the food and service was fantastic!

The tour guide, Kirsty, was lovely and very informative about the history of the region. The winery representativea were very knowledgeable about the wine making. It was an excellent selection of wine and a great way to spend a day in Napier. Unfortunately the day we went a lot of wineries that offer food were closed and so the tour company took us to a craft brewery in substitution of one winery, but the beer was very good. Would recommend.

We visited 4 wineries when we did this tour in late June 2025. We were one of two couples on the tour and had a great experience with our guides Kirsty and Anil, who were so friendly, informative and passionate about their jobs and their hometown.
We visited Brookfields Vineyard, Shed 530, Church Road Winery, and Mission Estate Winery. All four were great, but Brookfields and Church Road stood out - Brookfields for it’s small, passionate, family-run vibe and Church Road for its beautiful venue and tasting notes from Paul. With that said? The pizza at Shed 530 was amazing and Benjamin at Mission Estate were great too.
