Operator was great , views were stunning , directions great . Only negative for us was the clearview winery who were rude and unhelpful. Just wanted 2 glasses of wine, which they couldn't accommodate. Seems they only wanted people.booked for food and wine tasting . Elephant estate and Te Awanga were lovely though, so highly recommend those 2 as alternatives ..

Was great we could do our own thing and were able to choose to do more or not on the day
Easy ride and relaxing
Nice wineries on the way also

12 woman on the trip.
One of them had an electric bike which kept cutting out.
I had a broken seat which was only discovered an hour into the trip. The broken seat ripped my trousers. Very upsetting.
I feel like these things should have been checked before giving the bikes to us.
Also it is poorly sign posted for the bikes. We got lost a few times.
Other than that the bike trip was good and we had nice weather for it

Had to do a different route due to limited time but overall ok. Self guided route is a bit tricky to follow so wound up using GPS on phone. Great winery stops.

The bike hire company was wonderful! Very helpful and nice. We loved how they picked us up at the last winery and brought us back to our busses, as well.

We totally enjoyed our ebike ride along the coast! Scenery was awesome! The winery stops were fantastic especially the Clearview Estate Winery. The shop owner was pleasant and very helpful. The whole process was smooth....we were on our way in no time!

Self guided tour, first time and we loved it. You don’t have to stay with a group and can go at your own pace. We will definitely look for these type of tours in the future. If you driving and you don’t want to pay for parking, pass the Silver Bullet restaurant on the same road as the Bike shop. 10 minute walk to the shop. They will give you a map your bikes and you are on your way. The first part of the journey there is not a lot of places to stop. Once you hit Clive there is only 2 restaurants that were open the diner (nothing fancy) and Hotel Bar. They don’t serve food in the bar until noon. But stop in its quite an interesting place to look around.
We only got to 2 of the wineries (one closed for special events) Favorite was Clearview estate was our favorite for the wine and atmosphere. The tour was perfect. Great ride. When you get back check out the Indonesian Restaruant- make a reservation. It’s right we’re you parked your car.

We are also delighted to know that you had a great ride and that you enjoyed Clearview Estate . We hope to see you again soon.

Staff were great and the e bike was top notch with suspension and a bag on the back rack to stow things. All but one of the wineries was closed. If you really want to visit wineries then call each one first about its hours.

Thanks for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed riding the e-bike.
We always offer to provide our customers information on where to go and have a timetable of which winery's are open on which days so no need to call ahead unless you are wanting to book for lunch or a tasting on busy days. We hope to see you again for more fun on the ebike and possibly explore more of the lovely winery's there are to visit in the Bay :)
Best regards,

Make sure you book your tastings as they can be all booked when you turn up or understaffed. Young men at bike rental were very helpful and friendly!

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the availability of tastings. As you mentioned, it's always a good idea to book tastings in advance to ensure availability. We loved the bike ride, it allowed us to travel at our own pace and stop where we wanted. Appreciated having 4 wineries to tour and if you set it up the bike Co. Will pick up your wine.

This bike tour is an excellent way to enjoy some of the Hawkes Bay countryside up close. A fine day (pretty common for the region) made it a truly enjoyable experience. Do start early so you are not pressed for time with tasting at the wineries. Ideally, the pickup point would be the furthest winery - Te Awanga - and it would be possible to pick up purchases from all three sites rather than just Elephant.Hill. The bikes were excellent - gear changing very easy.

Beautiful ride on dedicated pathway. Great bicycles and excellent friendly service and pick up. Great way to enjoy Napier!

This was one of our favorite excursions ever.
The bike shop staff were really friendly and answered all questions about the trip.
The trail to the wineries was breathtaking and the directions and maps provided were excellent.
The pickup at the winery worked out well and was the perfect ending to a great day!

Great experience. Not a hard ride. We had originally booked the 4 winery tour but our boat was too late arriving so we did the two winery route. Great bikes, great maps and wineries. We had an amazing lunch at The Mission Winery. I wish we could have stayed longer. It is a very easy bike ride except for the winds. There are a couple of small paths to be careful of on coming bikers but only a couple. The rest is pretty easy.

My husband an I did a self guided bike ‘tour’ to two wineries near Napier while here for a one day cruise stop. The bike shop is in a great location - directly across from where the cruise port shuttle busses drop you off in town. It was a very quick and easy process of renting the bikes & getting directions. Our bikes were smooth shifting and comfy with wee bags in front to put water and personal items (not big enough to hold a backpack - FYI). The directions to find the three wineries to visit are decent, although we felt like we were on a bit of a scavenger hunt a few times. We completely missed the first winery ;-) although we easily found the second and third. Both were great places with nice tastings at $10 & $15 NZD respectively. At Mission winery we got two free logo glasses with our tasting.
The ride to get to the two farther out wineries took about an hour-ish. We went the ‘long’ way through some extra wildlife area - highly recommend! You will have time to stop & take pictures & view the scenery a plenty. The ride is almost entirely flat & a lot of it is separated from traffic. You do have to ride with traffic - in a bike lane- for a short distance near the end. The bike company picked us up at 3pm at the farthest out winery & we even had time for a lovely cheese platter in addition to our tasting before they picked us up.
Highly recommend!!
