Itinerary

After morning pickup at your Mumbai hotel or the airport, travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle with your guide to your first stop, Balbulnath Temple.

Take in views over the Arabian Sea and Mumbai from the temple, which is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and one of the oldest temples in the city. At Mahalakshmi Temple, see three different incarnations of the Hindu goddess Adi Shakti, the goddess of knowledge.

Next, visit the massive Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, dedicated to the elephant god Ganesh. Note the carved wooden doors, towering gold roof, Ganesha shrine, and central statue of Lord Ganesh.

Have lunch at a local restaurant (own expense), before going to two more temples in the afternoon: Mumba Devi Temple, and ISKCON Temple — part of the Hare Krishna movement.

Your full-day tour ends with drop-off at your hotel in the late afternoon.

This tour is the best way to learn about the spirituality found in Mumbai. First, the organization took extra precautions to make me feel comfortable I am a young woman traveling alone so the guide was a young woman too and the guide knew so much. We had a very in-depth conversation about the role of Hinduism in Indian society, activism, and human rights. Alos, she helped me make sure I experience temple going like a local and did not accidentally disrespected the gods or anyone. Highly recommend since you will learn so much and understand the spirituality of this country with new depths and perspectives... if looking for mocha or salvation in Mumbai this is a good start to your research.
