An Unforgettable Waterfall Experience with George of the Cloud Forest

Our El Tigre Waterfall Tour with George (the owner and true “George of the Cloud Forest”) was an unforgettable adventure through one of the most beautiful areas of Monteverde. The hike winds through lush rainforest, across hanging bridges, and past a series of stunning waterfalls—each more breathtaking than the last. George was an incredible guide—warm, funny, and deeply knowledgeable about the local flora, fauna, and history of the region. His passion for the area shines through in every story he shares, and his easygoing nature made the experience feel personal and immersive. The return trip on horseback was the perfect ending—relaxing, scenic, and just plain fun. Back at the lodge, we were treated to a traditional Costa Rican lunch, freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. It was the perfect way to end a morning filled with nature, adventure, and connection. We left with a deep appreciation for the beauty of El Tigre, and for George’s vision and care for this incredible place (we can’t wait to visit his restaurant when it opens!). Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Monteverde—it’s a must.
