Surfing with Stephen was an absolutely amazing experience! He was incredibly informative, hilarious, and one of the best motivators I’ve ever had. We literally flew in from Georgia to do this, and it was worth every single cent. Stephen was always right there in the water cheering me on, reminding me that I’ve got this and that encouragement made all the difference. The energy, the patience, the laughs, and the confidence he poured into the lesson made it unforgettable. I learned so much, had so much fun, and would 100% do it all over again. If you’re thinking about taking surfing lessons, Stephen is the one.

The instructor seemed annoyed that he was the only one teaching 6 of us. While I enjoyed surfing, I felt rushed and that the instructor didn’t really want to be there. It may have been more enjoyable to have had two instructors.

Hi Wendy, Thank you for your feedback, and I’m glad to hear you still enjoyed surfing. I’m sorry it felt that way during the lesson. Our group lessons are designed for up to six guests per instructor. I believe the instructor may have been focused on making sure everyone stayed safe and had a good time, as the ocean conditions that day were a bit rougher than usual. While we understand that every guest may experience a lesson differently, we did receive 5-star reviews from other guests who were in the same group that day. For those who prefer more individualized attention, we also offer private lessons. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience, and your feedback helps us continue improving our lessons. Hello there! I’m so sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, all lessons had to be cancelled due to weather conditions—the ocean was completely flat, which was beyond our control. Whenever a lesson is cancelled, we always reach out to confirm whether guests would like a refund or to reschedule. Since our office operates on West Coast time, if your reservation was cancelled at 10 a.m. East Coast time, there may have been a delay in our response. All refunds have already been issued for the cancelled lessons, but I’d like to double-check to ensure we didn’t miss yours. Since I booked the experience they were very communicative. IG was something totally new for me and I took the chance! My instructor was Sebastian, and he not only gave us a great introduction to what surfing really was about, but he was there making turns for every single one of us, helping us and sharing his with us important tricks to actually stand up on our boards! Lack of timely communication

The experience is poor. I got to the meeting site on time and the instructor didn’t show up or respond to his phone. After a couple minutes of waiting, I was informed that there’s a incident and the instructor couldn’t make it, the operator offered me a refund and free lesson, yet they never contacted me again about rescheduling the lesson.

Could be better

The instructor was great and friendly but even putting in my height and weight when booking they had a board for me that was too small so it was very unstable and my feet were hanging off the back to try and keep the nose out of the water. Even the instructor said that board was a little too small for me so it made it hard. We were fine with the stretching and all but we also had to do workouts or “warmups” which consisted of push ups, squats, jogging, planks, sit ups and more. The meeting place is at least 1/4 mile from the water and the “cart” to pull the boards had to blown out tires so we had to help push the cart. The instructor said he had requested a new one or new wheels but hasn’t gotten any. The waves were almost non existent. Half way through they have you get out and do more exercises so out of the two hours you only spend one in the water.

Good surfing course for beginners

Great experience for teens/beginners

We (a dad and 2 middle school boys) really enjoyed the entire experience of learning to surf for the first time. The location was great, easy to park and meet up with the instructor. The communication in advance was clear and easy to follow. The instructor (Stephen) was really great, giving us instruction to not just enjoy our time in the ocean that day, but to have things to build on if we wanted to keep surfing in the future. With his teaching - initially on the boards on the beach - and his help in the water, we were all able to successfully ride some waves, feel that great sense of accomplishment, and truly enjoy our time together. Because of this, I am sure my kids will want to try surfing again the next chance they get. The waves were smaller than what I imagined in my mind when I thought about surfing, but they were great for beginners like us. I understand that they can get a little bigger at that location but we were there on a good day. It was mid February at 10AM, so I was concerned about the water temperature - not sure if we would need a wet suit or swim shirt. Turns out we didn't. The water was relatively warm and we adjusted to the temperature quickly. The beach facilities in that area have a restroom and a place to rinse off - very convenient. When we arrived at the parking lot at 9:45 it was pretty empty. By the time we were leaving at 12:00 it was full. So that might be something to consider if doing a lesson at 12:00 or later - give yourself a little more time for parking.

Excellent first time surfing

This was the first time I tried surfing and it was way beyond my expectations. Stephen is an amazing dedicated instructor. He did his best to provide all the necessary information and helped us a lot in the water. I was able to catch multiple waves on by own by the end of the lesson. Overall it was a great unforgettable experience!
