Local knowledge, delicacies, and culture galore!

Sheila_G, Nov 2025
Francisco was an amazing guide! He was right on time to pick us up and shared an astounding amount of local knowledge with us. We enjoyed every stop and felt that there was a nice balance between the guided parts and the parts of the tour where we were left to wander/shop on our own. Francisco was amendable if we needed more time in one location and was always willing to answer our questions. He introduced us to some of the best coffee and churros we've ever had in Coyoacán! I definitely recommend doing this tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico City!

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hehe the Best churros!! Great we want this! The best Churros, the best Chocolate and the best smiles! Thank you for sharing your experience I feel so glad! Nos vemos la próxima vez! We have many activities if you write me directly the next time!

Great day in CDMX

Laura_D, Sep 2025
We had a great day! The university was really cool, xochimilco canals on a Monday morning were incredibly relaxing with a beer and some vendor corn and coyocan is beautiful. We loved the artisanal markets and having a private tour was wonderful, with an awesome guide!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you Laura! Hearing you had a great time with Frank makes my heart happy and proud of this project in which we all have put our hearts and passion. Hope to see you next time!

5 stars all around

Gerrardo was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Shared so much history with us on our drives to both destinations. I couldn’t recommend the private boat through Xochimilco more!

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you Daniel! We love having Gerardo as part of our team! He is such a kind and knowledgeable friend and colleague.

A must do!

Laura_L, Apr 2025
Ernesto was a fantastic guide for my 11 year old daughter and I! He picked us up right on time in his clean and comfortable car. The trip to Xochimilco and the boat trip on the canals was not crowded and lovely. Ernesto’s historical knowledge was extensive, and kept us both asking more questions. Then we drove to Coyoacan and had a delightful food tasting extravaganza! First Ernesto took us to a fruit stand to try many wonderful and new local fruits. Then we got to try all the insects and spiders! We walked through a lovely market and got high quality souvenirs. He also found us the best churros in the city, and we visited a beautiful church as well. All this with lots of history sprinkled in. This trip is a must do in Mexico City and we highly recommend Ernesto!

Response from Host, May 2025

Thank you so much Laura! Coyoacan neighborhood offers a very stimulant experience! Lots of flavours, music, colors... definiteley a place to experience Mexico City!

Splendid Day All Around Mexico City!

Glenn_S, Nov 2024
After doing a variety of group excursions, it was a true treat to book a full day private tour for 2 couples. Our guide, Maryana, picked us up in front of our airbnb in her clean, comfort, spacious van at 9 am and dropped us off in front of our airbnb around 6:30 pm after a fascinating and fun day. It’s impossible not to like Maryana immediately. Her petite frame packs a lot of energy, kindness, exuberance, and joy of sharing her deep knowledge of all things Mexico City. It’s easy to spend a day with Maryana. She drove us out to the University to talk about the murals and the educational system. We spent time in Coyoacan and enjoyed the canal ride. But a true highlight was an add on visit, at Maryana’s recommendation, to Museum Anahuacalli, where Diego Rivera stored so many national treasures (an extra 20 pesos because we are 60+). Maryana helped us understand the significance of this fascinating place along with all the other stops we made. We enjoyed a fun lunch in the market. While the canal boat ride might seem a bit touristy (and if you do the ride, you do want to do it with a knowledgeable guide so you don’t get ripped off), what we noticed were so many Mexican families out in the boats enjoying life and each other. The numerous mariachi bands added to the festive environment. A day learning about the culture of Mexico City with Maryana is a day well spent. Highly recommend.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you so much Glenn! It's my pleasure to share those gemms in the city, Coyoacan and Xochimilco offers a super local experience but also full of history and art. I am so happy to read you again, it brought a lot of joy to my heart to hear from you!

Wow! Fantastico!

Lynda_B, Oct 2024
Wow! We only had one full day in Mexico City and Franck made it spectacular. 20 years of experience he was a wealth of knowledge. Very personable, fantastic English for easy understanding and conversation. We got to see so much and have the best tostados I ever had, delicious coffee and churros. If there is some thing that you wanted to see or someplace that you wanted to go that wasn’t on the agenda he is happy to oblige and make changes I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank yoy Lynda! Frank is indeed a wonderful guide and friend. Sharing this experience with you inspires us as professionals to always offer the best of us!

Thank you so much we love y'all!

Gerardo was knowledgable and he truly cared about what he was teaching us and he took the best care of us we really appreciated him and our driver they were both amazing our driver even went as far as to help us exchanged pesos cause we left our passports in the Airbnb so he did it for us and that was so nice!! he didn't have to do that they made our bachelorette trip amazing so thanks guys!

Response from Host, Aug 2024

Thank you so muhc for your comment! We are happy to know we helped make your bachelorette trip unforgettable! Congratulations on the wedding!

A festive afternoon

Eric_S, Apr 2024
Frank was a great guide! The Xochimilco experience would have been daunting without him and he made sure every step went smoothly. The reviews of Xochimilco are all over the place but we found it very enjoyable and not at all as touristy as some claimed. It’s fun to be surrounded by so many celebrations and the many opportunities for a spur-of-the moment experience with food or having mariachis come aboard. We would do it again for sure! And the walk through Couoacán was very interesting to see so many colonial buildings still in use!

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Thank you Eric! Xochimilco is one of those traditional highlighs to visit in Mexico City, thank you so much for choosing us!

Excellent, highly recommend

Lee_T, Mar 2024
This was a brilliant, worthwhile tour. We got to see the canals as well as lots of hidden parts of a district we would not otherwise have seen, all without any hassle as we had an excellent guide with his own transport.

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Thank you Lee! Hope to see you soon!

The lake that was once Mexico

Christine_I, Jan 2024
Our original guide had an illness in the family and we were assigned another. He was very knowledgeable and tired to tailor the trip to our needs. He was a very good conversationalist in the car and was frank and engaging in conversation

Highly recommend this tour!

Ashley_S, Jan 2024
Hector was an incredible tour guide! We ended up spending most of the day with him and it was one of the best days of our trip. His knowledge of Mexican history and current culture made the experience that much more interesting. The 9 am pickup was great because it allowed us to beat the crowds at Xochimilco and have a quiet morning on the canals (note: this is what we wanted but some people may be looking for a more boisterous experience). The mural visit was a nice touch! We felt like we spent just the right amount of time there. We had delicious lunch (tacos/quesadillas/mole) at the market in Coyoacán and churros to follow — all very yummy! Hector was very generous with his time and we ended up spending an extra hour in the main square discussing many fascinating topics.

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Thank you so much Ashley! We are happy to know you had a great time in Xochimilco and Coyoacan! It is a pleasure for us to share our knowledge and passion for our wonderful country!

A must-see in CDMX

This tour was absolutely fantastic! Our tour guide, Frank, was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and was totally accommodating to our plans for the day – great suggestions were offered all day. This was a great tour and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting CDMX!

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Thank you so much! Frank is indeed a wonderful guide and friend! We are happy to have him in our team!

Xochimilco and Coayacan: a wonderful culturally emersive trip on colorful boats and through an amazing local markettrip

John_E, Aug 2023
Our fabulous guide took us on a wonderful boat ride amidst the cheerful and colorful boats serenaded by the mariachi. This was followed by a culturally emersive exploration of the Coayacan Market and art show. The local lunch was fabulous!

Nice private tour around Xochimilco & Coyoacán with great guide, Monse & Luis.

Nalisa_W, Aug 2023
We enjoyed the tour guided by Monse & Luis. The tour is not great but Monse made a difference being our friendly guide. She brought us to the nicest place for Churros and also Tostadas. The itinerary for the tour was simple and straightforward. We started the tour at 9.30am and ended at around 5pm. Overall, the tour was great because of Monse. Xochimilco & Coyoacán are nice but not great like Teotihuacan Hot Air Balloon tour we had the previous day.

Informative and Relaxed

Matt_L, Apr 2023
We had a great time with Franck. The trip to Xochimilco was full of information about the different districts and learning about the history and culture of Mexico City. The boat ride was timed perfectly so that we didn't have to wait for a ride but there was plenty of energy on the water giving us an authentic experience. Our time in Coyoacan was relaxed and we enjoyed some delicious churros with plenty of time for checking out mulitple markets.

Fantastic tour with Island of the dolls

Sonja_E, Feb 2022
We were a group of 9 adults and 1 toddler. A few of us have been here before and made a special request to change our private tour and personalize it for us. We added a visit to the Island of the dolls, which adds quite a bit of extra time. The visit definitely offered a unique and haunted story about a local man’s experience and his supporting family from Xochimilco. Our guide, June was accommodating, patient, enjoyable to spend time with and extremely professional and knowledgeable. Pricing was fair and we felt completely taken care of. We even asked if we could see the Axolotl, native to the area. She made another special stop for us and we ended up learning so much more about this habitat, history and culture. It was way more then a tourist attraction for us. She helped us with making sure we had food, beers and even cocktails, which we purchased from boats on the canal. Highly recommended!

Response from Host, May 2022

Thank you for trusting us Sonja! Xochimilco is an iconic spot everyone should visit, its a mystical, folcloiric and very respresentative place of our culture. We love sharing all this richness with you all and make sure you´re having a great time but also learning about it.

Xochimilco is Wonderful, Coyocan is Beautiful, Tour Could Use a Little Better Organization

Emily_D, Sep 2021
Xochimilco was one of the main attractions I wanted to visit in Mexico City, and it did not disappoint: so beautiful and relaxing, and definitely the best part of this tour. I have a recommendation for the tour company/folks who work with them to arrange this tour in the future: please skip the university altogether, and spend more time in Xochimilco. We started the tour at the university, and spent what my boyfriend and I felt like was entirely too much time there. Afterward we went to Xochimilco, and we only went up and down the canal one time before being rushed to Coyoacan. My boyfriend and I were hoping to walk along the banks of the canal and have a drink in one of the cafes, but we immediately left for Coyoacan after returning from our boat ride. Another issue: the person I worked with to book this tour told me to purchase tickets to the Frida Kahlo Museum for 10:30am (the museum requires timed entry). On the day of the tour, our guide, who was not the person who I worked with to book the tour, told us our itinerary had changed due to weather, which meant we were not able to use our Museum tickets. I had visited to the Frida Kahlo Museum before and my boyfriend was not particularly interested so it wasn't exactly a disappointment, but I was definitely annoyed to spend $25 on tickets we did not get to use.

Response from Host, Sep 2021

Hi Emily! Thank you so much for your comments, your opinions are the most important part of this, we will be careful with those detalis, Definitely Xochimilco and Coyoacan are parts of our city you can't miss when you visit CDMX.

Fun day in Coyoacan and Xochilmilco

Michelle_L, Dec 2020
We had an amazing time with Mariana on the Xochimilco & Coyoacan tour. She was prompt when picking us up and her van was very comfortable. It was a full day of seeing various sights in Mexico City including the Mercado Coyoacan where she brought us to enjoy the market. After a bit of shopping she took us to eat the most delicious quesadillas I’ve ever had. (Not the same as the quesadillas in the States). Then we drove to Xochimilco where we spent time on a colorful boat floating down the canals serenaded by mariachi. I truly enjoyed the day with her and would highly recommend this tour!
