We enjoyed our private tour. Our guide, Ernesto added valuable historical context and subtext, and he highlighted the more significant artifacts and figures. I highly recommend a private tour to get more bang for buck and cultural impact. Rather than just wonder thru the exhibits aimlessly. Particularly if you do not speak Spanish fluently. Museums in Mexico have very little English descriptions on the exhibits (which is a “me” problem for not speaking better Spanish). But it is very exhausting to try and read/interpret descriptions all day. It just slows you down.

There was a little elevated walk up to the castle and they do not allow food or water - there is no water anywhere around the castle either which made it a little uncomfortable in the heat - the castle itself is very nice and learned so much about the history of Mexico City from our tour guide Rene. He was great.
