Itinerary
Begin your walking tour in central Mexico City with visits to major landmarks that are easier to understand with a guide than on your own. Start near the Palace of Fine Arts, one of the city's most important cultural venues, then continue to the Postal Palace and along Calle Madero, where your guide explains the history behind buildings such as the House of Tiles and a former Franciscan convent.
Continue to the Zocalo to see the National Palace and Metropolitan Cathedral—a key example of Spanish colonial architecture. Walk to the Templo Mayor ruins, viewing the remains from the outside while learning how the former Aztec ceremonial center fits into the citys layered history.
The experience finishes at the Torre Latinoamericana, a central landmark that long held the title of the tallest building in Mexico City. Learn about its construction and significance before deciding how to continue your visit.
If you select the option with viewpoint access, you have free time at the end of the tour to go up independently and take in panoramic views over the city from the observation level.

TOUR OF MEXICO CITY CENTER AND ZOCALO
We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of the Zócalo and Torre Latinoamericana with Alexa.
Alexa is an exceptionally knowledgeable guide, and her English is excellent. She provided a comprehensive and engaging introduction to the historic heart of Mexico City, helping us understand not only the significance of the Zócalo itself but also the many layers of history that have shaped this remarkable area over the centuries.
As we walked through the city center, Alexa pointed out numerous sites of historical and cultural importance, explaining how they fit into the broader story of Mexico City’s development. Her ability to connect events, places, and people made the history come alive and gave us a much deeper appreciation for the area than we would have gained exploring on our own.
We especially appreciated her flexibility and professionalism. She thoughtfully adapted the route to accommodate local circumstances, including closures related to preparations for the upcoming World Cup, while ensuring that we still experienced all of the highlights. The tour was very well paced and kept both adults and teenagers engaged throughout.
The evening concluded with a visit to the Torre Latinoamericana, where we enjoyed spectacular nighttime views of Mexico City. Seeing the city illuminated from above was the perfect ending to an excellent tour.
Alexa combines historical knowledge, clear communication, and genuine enthusiasm in a way that makes learning enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a deeper understanding of Mexico City’s history and culture.

Our second booking with Amigo tours and our second time getting Alexa — she is the best!! Not only does she carry photos, a whiteboard, historical info galore, she is the most inventive & hilarious storyteller with the most delightful details. We had a bad thunderstorm JUST as we began but it did not deter her enthusiasm or commitment. We walked through the rain to every location and truly enjoyed her narration. You wont regret the tour anyway but if you get Alexa, consider it a lottery win!

Tour itself it’s good, for the places we visited. guides were terrible, there were two guides a she and a he, they were in a hurry all the time, playing dumb jokes to themselfs, irresponsible and disrespectful, not taking the tour serious. Didn’t even let me take pictures, and at the end just throw me at torre latino without saying a thing. Hated this tour.

The guide had no contact with me and I ended up not being able to even do the tour. It was a scam. I gave my number on Whatsapp and they had absolutely no contact. I was expected to locate the guide in the middle of a park with hundreds of people and the landmark given was essentially useless

Nobody showed up, we waited from 5:45pm until 6:18pm. When we contacted the tour guide nobody answered, they then later responded stating we had cancelled the tour, which was not true, if we had cancelled the tour wouldn’t still be active and I wouldn’t be able to write this review. I looked them up on Google and not surprised this company has bad reviews. Very unreliable.

Our guide was Emanuel with Amigo Tours and he was wonderful! We had a mixed English/Spanish speaking group and he switched between the 2 languages very easily. He was enthusiastic and engaging. My guide was Alejandro and he was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and as a solo traveler, I felt safe. By the end of my tour I felt that I truly understood the culture and history of Mexico City. Great tour!
Esta empresa es una total estafa. Todo nuestro grupo, excepto dos personas, llegó a tiempo, pero no pudimos encontrar el punto de encuentro. Las instrucciones eran absurdamente vagas, simplemente decían "detrás del museo," lo cual no tiene sentido tratándose de un museo enorme en el centro de la ciudad durante Año Nuevo. Les enviamos múltiples mensajes por Viator, pero nunca respondieron. También llamamos varias veces a su oficina, pero nadie contestó.
Después de 15 minutos, logramos comunicarnos con alguien, pero se negaron a darnos un punto de encuentro claro. Dijeron que el guía había esperado 10 minutos y se había ido. Luego nos dijeron que contactáramos a Viator y nos colgaron. Viator tampoco nos ayudó, afirmando que el guía había esperado 20 minutos.
Estamos seguros de que éramos el único grupo reservado ese día y que cancelaron porque la zona estaba muy ocupada y caótica. Tenemos capturas de pantalla de todas las mentiras que nos dijeron y vamos a reportar el cargo como fraude con nuestra tarjeta de crédito. Eviten esta empresa a toda costa.
Excelente la información y bien aprovechado el tiempo. Muy amable y paciente el guía Alejandro. Recomiendo visitar el mirador de la Torre Latinoamericana.
