The place is magnificent and magical, but the service does not include a guide, the driver will not go into the monastery’s and explain things. You must do your own research or add an audio guide.
Having said this we really enjoy the service of the driver.

Evan, our driver, was great - friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The day started in an out-of-the-way place still amongst the stones to give us a taste and an overview of the sites we were going to see. It was a hot day and the van was cool and inviting place. It was priceless too to both have Evan navigate the way/free us from the worry of parking and help us with taking pictures of our whole group. It was especially nice in the final monastery to be dropped off at the top and picked up at the bottom. We had a smooth day enjoying the amazing sights and discovering a few unexpected ones!

Jim was an excellent tour guide. He showed up on time. We very knowledgeable about the area and history. He told great stories and was able to help us manage the crowds at the varied attractions. Would definitely recommend him and doing this tour.

We were picked up from our guesthouse on time. We got to visit some local monasteries and were shown numerous wonderful photo opportunities. Our guide, Evan, knew the area, history, geology etc. He was friendly, polite and we could not have asked for more. The personal tour was worth the extra cost.

Jim was hands down the best guide I’ve ever had through my travels. He was knowledgeable, interesting and fun to be with. He took great and fun photos with my daughter. He took us to a wonderful pastry and coffee shop. He even discussed local foliage /herbs and how they are used.

We got to Meteora later than expected as we were driving from Athens. They were so accomodating with us, and were ready to go when we arrived. Our tour guide (cannot remember his name) was amazing, knowledgeable, took the best photos, and was so pleasant. He truly went above and beyond during the entire tour. I would highly recommend this tour, company, and the amazing tour guide we had to anyone who wants to have a magical time in Meteora!!!

My friend and I decided to book the tour instead of driving the car we had rented in Athens up to the monasteries when we heard about the traffic. It ended up being an excellent decision, and I can't imagine what our experience would have been like without the tour. Our guide provided us with history and context that we would never have found without him, and due to his knowledge of the area we managed to dodge the crowds at many of the viewpoints and didn't have to waste time trekking back and forth to our transportation every time we visited a monastery. The personalized experience was well worth the price, and I would recommend the tour to anyone visiting.

Excellent tour from George. He really knew exactly where to go for the best viewing and which order . He also recommended an outstanding restaurant for a late lunch. We made it to all 6 monasteries and enjoyed the brisk walks along the way. My only suggestion is to provide more info about the monasteries we’re seeing and history of area. We really enjoyed the day

Jim was a great guide for our private tour. He grew up in the area so he had lots of interesting stories and was very knowledgeable about the area. He started the tour at the monasteries that are flat against the rock and built into the rock and we enjoyed that. We may not have seen them without him showing us. He was very professional and also had a good sense of humor.

George is a local who grew up in the area and was an amazing tour guide. He had a passion for history, and not only shared information about Meteora, but also ancient and modern Greek history. We really liked how he started with the caves and worked up to the monastery’s of the 16th century and beyond. George also helped us get an appointment to a local winery after we departed from the tour. It was a great experience and completely worth having a driver.

We booked the Meteora Monasteries Full Day Private Tour. Our guide, Evan, was wonderful. He strategically planned our tour so we were missing all of the tour busses. We loved the challenge of the stairs and hills that access the monasteries. I highly recommend bringing appropriate shoes. I was shocked to see how many women wore platform sandals. Also, be prepared to cover legs and bare shoulders upon entering the monasteries.

We were so happy we chose to do this tour. It did not disappoint. Our fantastic guide, Vaggelis, picked us up at our Airbnb and we began our day. Having grown up here, he knew so much about the area and had stories from his childhood that made it even better. It was lovely not having to drive anywhere or find parking. He would drop us off and pick us up at the front. We were able to see all of the open monasteries, the abandoned ones, and the hermit caves. All were so incredible. I know we wouldn't have been able to do and see all of this without Vaggelis. He was able to answer all of our questions and give us more information than we would have been able to find. It was a magnificent day. Worth every penny.

The monasteries of Meteora have long been on my bucket list and they did not disappoint! They are a breathtakingly beautiful with stunning views of the surrounding towns and mountain ranges. They are almost other worldly in appearance. Our guide gave us so much helpful information that really enhanced our experience as we toured the monasteries. He was personable, friendly, knowledgeable and readily answered our questions. He adapted the tour to include some other local monasteries in the area as well as the hermit caves. All around, such a memorable experience. Definitely recommend this tour.

One of the ahhhmazzzing attractions visitors should not miss during their visit in Greece! Majestic and jaw-dropping Meteora left us still in awe til now! We ( 4 of us) took the train from Central Station Athens, a.k.a. Larissa Station, about 4hrs train ride and got off at KALABAKA Station where our private tour guide-GEORGE patiently waited for us! George was friendly and knowledgeable both the ancient and modern Meteora facts! He is very well-versed and very educated yet humble guy! Thank You, George, for that wonderful tour and most especially for taking us to the best restaurant in town! Panenillo? Our Meteora trip is definitely a memory of a lifetime!

This place is incredible! Everywhere you turn, there's an amazing view. Since we didn't have a car, we booked this tour so we could see all of the monasteries that were open that day and also get the history of the area. Evan was a wonderful guide. He taught us everything we wanted to know. He timed the day just right so that we always just seemed to miss the big tour bus crowds.
