Skip trying to find a guide or organize transport to Meteora when you arrive at the Kalambaka station, and book a time-saving option before you travel. This was the way to see the Monastaries. In a small group you're taken to a few of the sites with time to visit them inside, with a guide who is knowledgable, engaging, simply wonderful.

Joanna gave us an excellent tour of Meteora. She is extremely knowledgeable, well spoken, and friendly!! We were able to visit 3 of the monasteries but viewed them all. We had time to take many pictures and learned so much. Would highly highly recommend this tour. We were a small group of 4 but the maximum size is only 8, so very personal and intimate. Out of respect, men should wear long pants and women long skirts, but the monasteries provide a skirt should you not have one.

Joanna was a great guide! She provides a lot of information, is very accommodating, and has a great personality that allows you to connect with her. She provided us great recommendations for things to do and was very kind to take exceptional pictures at picture perfect opportunities. The driver gave us water halfway through the trip which was excellent.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and went the extra mile to make sure that everyone was comfortable. The monasteries are just incredible and the whole area is so beautiful and peaceful. More than words can describe and pictures do not do justice too.

It is not only a sightseeing tour but a visit where you learn alot. Joanna, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Only positive things to say sbout the driver as well (so sorry I don’t remember his name). They were a great team and very accomodating.

Amazing scenery, but would be helpful to know the enormous amount of steps involved. If you book it after April 2023, keep in mind the train schedule was changed and early train was canceled and you will only have 3 hours which is definitely not enough, we felt rushed. Book a hotel and rent a car. The tour guide tried his best , but it was exhausting with a limited time, we still glad we went.

This was a great trip! Despite the difficulties of transportation to get to Meteora, Christina was extremely patient and communicative with us during the entire time. We were very grateful that they accommodated the delay and still provided us with an amazing tour. The monasteries and town are gorgeous. Christina was able to provide a good overview of the area and explain the history of each location. I would definitely recommend this tour.

It was an absolutely incredible trip. Meteora should be on top of everyone's Greece itinerary and Christina and her team should be on top of your guide list. She was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable. She didn't hurry us up and showed us things we never would have seen on our own.

Great price for this half day tour. Booking was easy and swift. Confirmation also. Pick up at the station easy. Groupsize excellent, just 3 people including me. Spacious mini-van. Driver and guide very enthousiastic. Guide spoke French and English. We got to see most monasteries. Visited 3 of them with stunning views and very nice interiors/fresco's. And a lot of views at the monasteries and towards Kalambaka and more. It's an amazing place. I enjoyed a relaxed afternoon with Meteora Tours and the driver/guide. Will have to come back to see the other 3 monasteries with Meteora Tours and guide.

A lot of moments to take photos are given.
Don't hesitate to also take a couple of minutes just to enjoy the scenary
Be careful, if you are a woman, wear a long skirt or at least bring one. Long pants aren't enough, some monasteries will lend you their skirts, others will ask you to buy them. Thankfully, our guide lent us some !
Also, in most of the monasteries you cannot pay by card, so don't forget to take some cash with you
We brought our own sandwiches but there is a food truck at one of the monastery + there are multiple waterfronts to refill your bottle
And next time we visit, we will try hiking 😉

Very good time with Ioanna, almost a walk with friends: rich in information about the environment, history, wildlife, monasteries, Thessaly and the rest of the world 😁 really a pleasant time made of 3 long stops to visit the monasteries and many short stops to admire the scenery, and enjoy the best photo spots. Finally, thanks to the rich exchanges, the interior of the armored monasteries of the world was not the most interesting... to our taste.
