Great tour with a great guide Christos. He asked what we were interested in and tailored the experience to our interests. He was very courteous and helpful. My daughter uses a wheelchair and he had great tips and suggestions for getting around.

Nancy was an amazing tour guide and person. Knowledgeable, helpful, and overall wonderful. She showed us all the amazing sites and knew the best order so we avoided crowds and did the most challenging steps first. I hope you are lucky enough to get her as your tour guide.

Absolutely fantastic trip! Would highly recommend this to anyone, but it was especially nice for our large family. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area and the monasteries and we had a great visit to several of the monasteries. Didn’t have to worry about parking. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience with Nancy from Meteora Thrones as our tour guide. Her knowledge and efficiency allowed us to go inside 4 of the 6 monasteries during our tour. We also were able to stop at several great spots along the way for pictures. The minivan was extremely comfortable and more than accommodated our private party of four. We ended our tour with a delightful and delicious lunch in Kalambaka. We highly recommend this tour option and strongly suggest that you request Nancy as your guide.

We are two sets of couples who enjoy traveling together. Everywhere we go we hire guides from Viator. Two people in our small group have difficulty walking so we find we need to modify our tours and hire private guides. We have never been disappointed. In Meteora we were amazed by the views. Our Guide, Christos was exceptional and honestly the best we have ever had. He was extremely well informed, personable and went out of his way to make our day memorable. Without him we would never known the rich history of the area, beginning with the arrival of the first monks who dwelt in caves. He took us to historic sites and churches, showed us the best viewing sites for the current monasteries and saw to our every need. As we were enjoying lunch on the patio of a local restaurant, the Olympic torched passed by! Christos chased down the photo for us. What an unforgettable journey!

We had a fantastic time with our tour guide/driver Antonis. He made our tour very special with a lot of local insights because he was born and raised in Kalambaka. He adjusted the tour to match what we wanted to see. With time left on our tour he added sights that were off the beaten track. His knowledge of the history of the area was exceptional.

We greatly enjoyed the private tour with our guide Antonio. Antonio showed up on time and we conveyed our desires and constraints for the private tour. He came up with a detailed plan to meet our needs, and in addition to showing us the monasteries he also took us to a variety of hidden local places we had never heard of that were extremely interesting. Throughout he provided detailed information about the monasteries and region and answered all of our questions including those about Greece and Greeks in general. He was kind and considerate and always looking for ways to make the tour experience better for us. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful experience! Christos was knowledgeable about where to go and what to see. Some monasteries are closed due to days of the week, and he knew that as well! Highly recommend, if your limited on time and unsure what to see, just do this. You will not regret!

Antoni was amazing - if we could give him 10 stars, we would! He drew from literary, geological and historical information while taking us to some the most beautiful places on earth. He is sweet, patient, fun, and very knowledgeable - I cannot recommend him or this tour more highly - a hundred thumbs up!

Wow so glad we booked this tour, it covered everything in 6 hours in great detail, meaning that we were able to make the most of Meteora in 1 day! The knowledge and passion our guide Antonis for the area was amazing, a self guided tour would have taken much longer with many missed gems of information, so definitely choose this tour over a self guided drive. Antonio was such a lovely friendly kind man who was wonderful with our kids and very patient. He really couldn't do enough for us and went out of his way to tailor the tour to our needs and to make sure we were happy and comfortable at all times. Thank you Antonis and Meteora Thrones Tours !

Dimitrius picked us up at our hotel and tailored the day to our wishes. He offered excellent suggestions and was very knowledgeable about the area as well as very friendly and open to answering all the questions we threw at him. He recommended a restaurant for lunch that we all loved and even helped one member in our group buy a bus ticket for her trip to the airport the next day. He made the experience even better! The tour was very well organized. The minibus with the driver and guide were very cheerful and came and picked us up on time ! Nous avons eu la chance de profiter de l'accompagnement privé d'Antonis pour une durée de plusieurs heures dans la région des Météores. Il est venu nous chercher en auto à notre hébergement, nous a questionné et nous a aidé à faire un choix quant aux monastères à visiter. Il nous y a conduit tout en nous parlant de faits marquants, d'informations historiques, de caractéristiques de l'environnement et du développement de la région. En nous laissant au pied du sentier à prendre pour chacun des 3 monastères que nous avons choisi de visiter, il nous a bien décrit le chemin à parcourir, avec des points de repères, le nombre de marches, etc. Il nous a fourni quelques conseils tout en nous partageant son enthousiasme, sa fierté et son sentiment d'appartenance à cette belle région. Au retour de chaque visite, il nous encourageait à lui transmettre nos commentaires ou questions. Et dans les déplacements entre les monastères, il reprenait le fil de son accompagnement en nous donnant une panoplie d'informations que nous avons beaucoup appréciées.
Nous avons terminé notre visite avec les hermitages. Wow ! Que d'informations pertinentes et touchantes il nous a fournies !
Tout au cours de notre visite guidée, nous avons apprécié l'écoute d'Antonis, son souci de répondre à nos questions et de s'ajuster à nous, le respect qu'il a exprimé face à tout ce que représente l'histoire de ces monastères et son souci de nous partager ses connaissances.
Notre choix de prendre une visite guidée pour visiter les Météores est l'une de nos décisions marquantes de notre voyage. Cette journée d'explorations des Météores en compagnie de guide Antonis est l'un des coups de coeur de notre voyage. Merci ! "
