We booked the tour one day in advance. We had great communication with our Guide Steven. He messaged us prior to pick up time and we were picked up at our hotel. Our group were all very charming lovely people and our guide did an amazing job sharing with us information about each stop. We are learning to speak Spanish and he was very helpful asking us if we understood everything and speaking with us in English when we need it. Muchísimas gracias Steven!

Maxitours (tour provider) used an old van with broken down A/C. Girl with purple hair gave the walking tour in "comuna 13" was knowledgeable, however she took us to all of her family members businesses to spend money on. Bring cash! Since they charge you for everything there. If you want to use the bathroom, take a picture with a sculpture as the tour does not include any of these. On top of that be mindful that some people that sell street food there handle money and food without using gloves (like her cousin). I didn't dare try anything from their hands not even the obleas or solteritas. Very pushy vendors in this area. It's a must visit do to its history, but it's more of a one and done kind of tour. Would not repeat.

Great overview of Medellin

Juan David was our guide today and he flawlessly managed all 30+ of us which at times was like herding cats, I’m sure!!! He was an expert guide and has a great sense of humour. I appreciated him providing English as there were only three of us. The tour was great and flowed along on time. Lunch was delicious and the highlight for me was Comina 13. To be honest I could have lived without the Barefoot Park experience which would have made the tour a bit more reasonable for length. All in all a great day and I highly recommend this tour!!!!

Steven had excellent command of the english language. Great translator. He was very attentive to our needs. We were the only English speaking couple there. It is a wonderful experience to learn about Colombia. We went many places. It is something I will never forget. If you want a Colombian experience this is a must do.

This excursion was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish! 🌟 We had a group of 33 people, and somehow our guide, Juan David, managed everything flawlessly — no one lost, no confusion, just smooth organization all day long. From the moment he picked everyone up that morning to the final drop-off, everything was seamless and well-coordinated. We had plenty of time at each stop, never felt rushed, and received so much interesting and detailed information throughout the tour. His English was excellent, and he kept us informed every step of the way. I also truly appreciated how accommodating he was regarding my food allergy. He ensured the restaurant provided a meal that worked for me, which gave me real peace of mind and made the experience even better. For the price, this excursion delivers far more than expected. Incredible value, excellent service, and an unforgettable experience. If you find yourself in Medellín, I highly recommend booking this tour — you will not be disappointed! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was expecting a different city tour format, in which the guide would accompany the group at each stop and provide more detailed explanations about each place. However, the tour works a bit differently: the guide gives most of the explanations on the bus and then allows free time to explore each location independently. Even so, the guide deserves 5 stars. Within his role, Juan David was excellent, friendly, attentive, and very helpful.

A must do tour to really understand the history of Medellin and its people. Guide was excellent in explaining the history of the city and the graffiti meanings.

A poor start as we were told we would be collected at 8 and were not picked up till 9. Not the fault of the guide but the booking agent. We were also not advised to bring ID with us which sadly meant we could not visit the. Palacio Cultural There were too many people on the group so lots of time wasted

I enjoyed my tour, everything was very well organized starting from the pick up. We saw many places and learnt a lot about Medellin and its history. I was the only foreigner not speaking Spanish but the guide Steven did his very best to translate everything to me (and his English is very good as he studied abroad) so I didn’t miss anything, even felt like I was on a private tour with this personal attention. You’ll be lucky to have Steven as a guide both for Spanish speaking people and foreigners, highly recommend.

I believe you could visit all of these sites on your own. Yes, it may cost you to travel to each location via Uber or a Taxi, but you will likely save lots of time not having to wait for 40 something people to enter and exit the bus each time. What I thought is this tour would provide me is some interesting information from the tour guide about each location, plus transportation. The guide did not give any valuable information about any of the sites and the guide did not speak English very well. When we got to Commune 13, a guest guide took over for this part of tour and started talking in Spanish. That didn't do me any good. I requested an English speaking tour. While at Commune 13, the guide asked that we watch at least one dance show, (which brings them money) and then we stopped by a vendor that gave us some complimentary ice cream, which no doubt we paid for somehow. In review, had I learned something at each of the sites I would have been way more happy, but without that, I would have done my own tour. It would have been way more efficient and I would have been free to spend as much or as little time as I wanted at each site. Not to been mean to the tour guide, but she seemed very disorganized, minimal leadership skills, didn't speak English very well and they were late. She did say she would be with us the whole time and cared about our well being, whatever we needed, restroom etc.

Poor Communication No Trust in Event

I arrived at the location 15 minutes ahead of time. Waited 30 minutes beyond the time they said they were gonna be there to pick me up. Tried to communicate with a person running the event and that person told me that they had already came by at an earlier time when I was already there and I told her that I’ve been here waiting so no they had not. She could not tell me a time when she would pick me up. I did not feel comfortable. If the event was this disorganized spending the entire day with this event and waste an entire day. Unfortunately, I was unable to cancel and lost my money on this event because of their important communication.

My tour guide was Juan David, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. He was 1.5 hours late to pick me up because other people didn’t follow the instructions of being on time downstairs for pick up. And because he was late, I had to leave the tour early to make it to my other tour of the day. But besides that, the tour itself was fun. I loved the cable car and metro train experience! Also the electric stairs were very cool. It definitely made you get the real Colombian experience. You get a lot of time to explore on your own and enjoy yourself. Please be sure to take a hat, sunscreen, water and walking shoes because there is a lot of walking inclined!

Whirlwind tour that met expectations well

We had an excellent guide, Juan David. Charming, knowledgeable, and bilingual in English and Spanish. Whirlwind trip but so glad I was able to see and do so much. The guide was able to take a disparate group of people and make us feel bonded in a great experience so quickly that we were actually saying good bye and exchanging WhatsApp info at the end of the day. Trip to Comuna 13 and cable car ride a treat, lunch was delicious and quickly served and the trip overall met my expectations well. I will comment if you are older and not used to high altitudes, the trip up to Comuna 13 can be a challenge. Also it was a long day so bring water, wear good hiking shoes or sneakers and pace yourself and be prepared to rest the next day!

It was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a bit more excitement and a little more history on the city and especially la comuna 13. I honestly wouldnt waste my money again and would rather tour the city on my own.

We liked the fact that we were picked up at a nearby location to our stay, but this made the tour start later than expected. We enjoyed parts of the tour that were emblematic such as Comuna 13, but some parts of the tour felt as they were just added as filling, and we would've preferred to have a shorter tour but on places of actual interest. Our tour guide Juan David was great, had great energy, was very helpful at all times and always treated us with respect.

This was a great tour. Out tour guide was fun and informative. We were on a tight schedule to get to airport after the tour and the guide made sure we get off the bus first. That was appreciated. We started in the city centre, Botero Plaza and Parque del Rio. At both places we had plenty of time to explore on our own. Lunch was great, love Colombian tastes. Then we headed to Comuna 13, which was amazing and the highlight of the tour. Finishing with a panoramic cable car ride and metro ride back to the city. Highly recommended tour!

The tour was overall good, and I had a positive experience with plenty of interesting places to see. However, out of 38 people, only 3 spoke English, so the guide primarily spoke Spanish. During the Comuna 13 portion, it was entirely in Spanish. This tour is better suited for Spanish speakers.
