My wife and I travel full-time around the world and have fallen in love with Matera. We wanted to visit the Murgia park to view Materia across the ravine at sunset. We paid extra for an English speaking guide. However our guide came with an interpreter who offered up very little of what the guide was saying. Spent most of the time talking about plants instead of the history of the area and then piddles around and missed the sunset. Waited 20 minutes in the dark and cold for the van to return for pick up. Worst ever.

Our afternoon was very enjoyable. We saw several rock churches and were given lots of information.
Oue guides gave an excellent recommendation for a restaurant for dinner.

We had a great tour of Murgia Materana for 2 hours with Frederico, our English speaking guide. The English language tours are more expensive because there are fewer guides who tour in English plus we had a private tour for 2 people. It was well worth it. He drove us to the park from the tour agency and then we walked for the next 2 hours. It is not easy walking but not too hard either. We heard stories on the history of the Murgia, Matera, plants, archeology, culture. It was lovely being in the park and facing Matera when the lights start flickering on as night fell. You can drive yourself to the park and walk but you’ll miss so much information without a guide. I would recommend.

The whole evening was wonderful! I got this a gift for my girlfriend. The walk to the cliff side was lovely. Filled with wonderful views and the information that Antonello and Mikeala gave us really helped us appreciate the area even more. The caves and views were exceptional, it truly is an amazing way to see the town of Sasso, Antonello and Mikeala were so helpful and insightful. We could ask any question about the area and region. They would even take photos of us at certain points of the walk. After the trip, Antonello and Mikeala would answer any questions we had about Matera and Italy in general. I would highly recommend this tour. It truly is one of a kind!

We had the most amazing experience. Ur guide had lots of great information. Watching the sun set on the Stassi of Matera was breathtaking. As was seeing the city light up and darkness came.

It was a very informative and fun guided tour with a friendly guide who not only shared history but shared information to my interest. The views are breathtaking. Especially the visit to the caves when it’s sunset, paints a memorable view of matera at night adorned with lights. Strongly recommend everyone to not miss this tour on their matera trip

Excellent tour. Learned about the park and landscape looking across from Matera. Then you are treated to sunset and night fall as the city lights up. Excellent guide with passion and knowledge of the nature and surroundings. Highly recommend.

Excelente experiencia, el guia (arqueologo del lugar) estaba super capacitado, todas sus explicaciones fueron claras y precisas. Los paisajes y vistas impresionantes, si bien hacia frio era soportable. El unico problema fue que la actividad comenzo 20 minutos luego de lo previsto

Geweldig goede ervaring gehad, ik kom de verzamelplaats niet goed vonden. Ze belde me op en hebben me telefonisch naar de juiste plek geloodst. In het park aangekomen bleek ik een privé gids te krijgen omdat ik de enige was die een Engelstalige tour had geboekt! Geweldige service, en Iwan was een geweldige gids!
