Antonio was a great tour guide who gave us lots of locals knowledge and history about the area. I was never bored once and it was a perfect 2 hour tour of the entire area with lots still left to do for the rest of the trip!

Thanks to Georgia we really enjoyed this tour and would never have seen some of the streets without her! She spoke excellent English and thanks to the headsets we could hear everything as some of the areas were crowded. I liked the smaller group and would highly recommend this tour.

Really enjoyed Antonio's tour! He was really knowledgeable about history of Matera, and put it all into context: geography, ethnology, socioeconomics. He was super friendly and humorous, would certainly choose him again.

Great small group walking tour that covered a wide range of the history of the Sassi with a very interesting isn’t to an ancient cave church with lovely frescos. Giorgio, our guide was amazing!

Highly recommend this walking tour. I did it with my husband and 16 year old son who wasn’t very keen on the idea - but we all loved it, even the grumpy teenager! Our guide got it just right, a nice mix of humour and really interesting history and facts - he even shared his own experiences of playing in the Sassi as a teenager in the 90s which really captured my son’s imagination. Great fun, a natural guide and the highlight
of our trip to Sassi for me!

Excellent tour, with a very knowledgeable local guide. The extra a few euros for entrance to the cave church is well worth the money. This is collected before the tour starts making it an easy entry. Once again, the guides knowledge was instrumental in making this a wonderful experience.

We had a packed two-hour with Georgia. She is funny, knowledgeable and very approachable. It was very easy to ask her questions. Her time management was also very good. We didn’t feel rushed even though we covered a lot of ground.

I would never have known half of the things about Matera without this tour. I had watched videos and knew the basics but he made it come alive from a local’s perspective and how the resurgence and resurrection of Matera occurred. Highly recommended ! Best 2 hours in Matera. Highlight was him explaining one of the rock churches we had already visited but his explanation changed our entire experience of it. Book this tour. You won’t regret it.
