I had a last minute cancellation because the guide was sick but I was added to a Passi Nei Sassi group, which was also a small group. Patrizia was a kind and knowledgeable guide who gave useful information on the history of the sassi. I would recommend the tour.
Grace gave us a very informative and interesting tour of Matera combining history and some Matera culture.
Fabulous and interesting tour with Georgia. Just the right pace, very informative and we really enjoyed it. Thoroughly recommended!
Georgia was an excellent guide for the two hours. Deep longstanding local knowledge and experience, with perfect English. . Highly recommend Georgia for a well paced very informative tour.
Our guide was wonderful. He had grown up
In Matera and was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. He also knew about a lot of the art, churches etc. It really made for an awesome tour. So grateful!
Guide was great. Pure guy from Matera with a lots of stories about it and deep understanding of urban and social side of the city. We loved it.
Excellent tour! The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and easy to understand. The 2 hours were actively paced but not rushed. She did an excellent job of presenting the history of the sassi in the context of the overall history of Matera, including many small and interesting tidbits of information. I learned a huge amount! One of the best walking tours I’ve taken!
Tour was excellent. Our guide Rinaldo had a personal family connection to matera that added so much to our understanding of the city.
Highly recommend the tour.
Antonio was a great tour guide who gave us lots of locals knowledge and history about the area. I was never bored once and it was a perfect 2 hour tour of the entire area with lots still left to do for the rest of the trip!
Great way to see and learn about Matera! Antonio was a fantastic guide. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining!
Thanks to Georgia we really enjoyed this tour and would never have seen some of the streets without her! She spoke excellent English and thanks to the headsets we could hear everything as some of the areas were crowded. I liked the smaller group and would highly recommend this tour.
Really enjoyed Antonio's tour! He was really knowledgeable about history of Matera, and put it all into context: geography, ethnology, socioeconomics. He was super friendly and humorous, would certainly choose him again.
Great tour of the Sassi. Georgia was such a good guide. Very knowledgeable without being boring. Highly suggested if you like to know what your looking at rather than wandering
Antonio is a wealth of knowledge and delivers a very comprehensive and informative explanation in a friendly and engaging manner.
Antonio, was a great tour guide! Very knowledgable about the region (Matera) and was a local since childhood.
A brilliant, thoroughly enjoyable and informative two hour walking tour and one I highly recommend. .
Giorgia is an incredible guide. Accommodating to our needs. Thank informative and passionate about Matera.
We had a lovely walking tour with Giorgia who was very pleasant to spend time with and super knowledgeable about Matera and the Sassi in particular! Thank you so much!
A lovely walk through such a beautiful town with a very knowledgeable guide - who is also a real local.
Antonio was very kind and very clearly passionate about the history and culture of Matera, I learned a lot of very interesting information and he was very engaging.
Our very nice and knowledgeable guide Georgia topl us through 2 hours of history and stories from ancient, old and modern Matera. In perfect english she handled not only her topics, but also our group very well and pleasanty! Really recommended if you want the full picture in an easy and digestable way!
Georgia is an engaging, interactive guide with excellent English who had a talent for bringing to life the fascinating history of Matera.
Great small group walking tour that covered a wide range of the history of the Sassi with a very interesting isn’t to an ancient cave church with lovely frescos. Giorgio, our guide was amazing!
Antonio gave a fantastic and thorough tour of Matera. It was very interesting and had a great pace. Highly recommend, it made our trip.
Highly recommend this walking tour. I did it with my husband and 16 year old son who wasn’t very keen on the idea - but we all loved it, even the grumpy teenager! Our guide got it just right, a nice mix of humour and really interesting history and facts - he even shared his own experiences of playing in the Sassi as a teenager in the 90s which really captured my son’s imagination. Great fun, a natural guide and the highlight
of our trip to Sassi for me!
Excellent tour, with a very knowledgeable local guide. The extra a few euros for entrance to the cave church is well worth the money. This is collected before the tour starts making it an easy entry. Once again, the guides knowledge was instrumental in making this a wonderful experience.
We had a packed two-hour with Georgia. She is funny, knowledgeable and very approachable. It was very easy to ask her questions. Her time management was also very good. We didn’t feel rushed even though we covered a lot of ground.
Giorgia Was an excellent guide. It was very informative and filled in many of the blanks from our own exploration of Matera. There is so much history in Matera and I would strongly recommend taking this tour.
Antonio was an amazing guide. His English was excellent. His knowledge was impressive. He is proud of his hometown and that really came through. Highly recommend.
Very interesting and entertaining. Giorgia was a great guide, she knows her subject well and makes learning about Matera fun! I highly recommend this tour and Giorgia!
