Tour Itinerary We appreciated that the itinerary was followed as listed on the website. However, the description could better set expectations around the amount of driving time (up to 10 hours per day) and the limited number of stops. In addition, unexpected car issues required multiple maintenance stops, which reduced time for sightseeing. Adding more opportunities to stretch and enjoy scenic spots would make the experience more comfortable and engaging. Driver Mohammed demonstrated excellent driving skills and ensured our safety throughout the trip. Even when we encountered car maintenance issues, he handled them professionally, and we felt well cared for. Guide Abdul was courteous and approachable, which we valued. However, there were several areas where expectations were not met. To enhance future tours, we recommend: 1) Improving English proficiency to reduce communication challenges. 2) Providing a daily overview of the itinerary, including stop times and suggestions on what to wear for planned activities. 3) Proactively sharing cultural and historical context during the journey to enrich the experience. We tried to engage in conversation, but responses were brief, and we eventually stopped asking questions. 4) Offering suggestions for local activities or points of interest when stopped, such as hikes or unique sights, to help guests make the most of their time and learn more about the region. For example, on the first night in Dades Canyon, guidance on a local hike or things to do would have added great value. We discovered this opportunity through the hotel manager, and a local resident offered to take us on a tour of the gorge. While it turned out well, it was not the safest approach and highlights the need for more proactive recommendations from the guide. Overall Abdul could benefit from additional training on tour guide best practices, particularly in guest engagement and cultural storytelling. For tours with non-local language speakers, pairing guests with guides who have stronger English skills would significantly improve the experience. Additionally, we recommend reconsidering the three-day format, as extended time in a non-air-conditioned, cramped car was challenging.
