Tour cancelled, refund eventually received after a difficult process

This experience never took place because the local operator contacted us shortly before the scheduled activity and informed us that the tour could not be be provided as booked. The most disappointing part was not the cancellation itself, but the refund process. We spent a long time trying to obtain a refund through both the local operator and the platform. Communication was inconsistent, different information was provided at different stages, and we repeatedly had to supply evidence and follow up ourselves. The refund was eventually processed, but only after significant effort, multiple contacts with customer support, and a great deal of uncertainty. I would strongly recommend that travelers keep all correspondence, screenshots and records of communication in case they need to prove what happened.

This booking was for an open time to the gardens which we were planning to go early in morning when they opened due to the heat. However the day before I got sent tickets saying our time slot was at 1430 in the middle of the day. I replied to the WhatsApp message saying that time didn’t work for us and there was no reply. I then sent a message to the tour operator through the Viator app and again received no reply. Do not book through Viator for this open time ticket. You will be assigned a time slot and not get to pick which defeats the point of an open timed ticket. I suggest booking through the website for the gardens direct and picking a time slot that works for you. Sunny Morocco is non responsive and worst tour operator.

If you book through here make sure you have WhatsApp and check it early in the morning. I never received an email and they sent a notification at 6:30am that I had entry at 8am so I completely missed my window to get there and wasn’t let in.

Viator’s Lack of Responsibility in Customer Support and Misleading Website Information

I booked 11 tickets through you and received them, but the time provided didn’t match my request, so we didn’t have enough time to properly visit. I paid nearly $600 for all 11 tickets, yet we only managed about 30 minutes and mostly ended up standing outside looking in. I contacted Viator customer support about the incorrect information on the website, but they were unhelpful, refused to take responsibility, and said that since the tickets were already used, they could not issue a refund. I understand that I booked last-minute and agreed to pay a higher price for that reason. However, I was not properly advised, which led to unnecessary costs without receiving a worthwhile experience. The service from Viator was very poor, and there wasn’t even an apology.

Don’t buy Majorelle Garden tour through Viator, purchase from official Majorelle site. Viator charge three times more the price and when asked what time they say ‘Garden is open from 9.30am to 5pm, go anytime’. No, only after you purchase ticket do you find out the time, which did not fit in either my other plans.

Unique, beautiful and calm garden for the honor of YSL and his partner. Definitely worth visiting. But try to book your tickets in advance, Viator tickets are three times as expensive as the official tickets without any extra benefits. And of course inside the garden there was an PB museum which entrance was not included in your overpriced ticket.

A beautiful space but not essential

The Majorelle Gardens are undeniably pretty, but for me they felt a little underwhelming. The planting is mostly bamboo and cacti, so while the colours and design are pleasant, it’s quite basic for what’s often described as a “must‑see” show garden. As one of Marrakech’s biggest tourist hotspots, you can also guarantee crowds. Even with timed entry, it’s hard to find a quiet moment to enjoy the space, and the pathways can feel quite congested. Overall, it’s a nice stop if you’re already in the area or a big fan of the Yves Saint Laurent connection, but you wouldn’t miss out by leaving it off your itinerary.

Tour operator doesn’t tell you until the day you want to go what time you will get a ticket for. Also, the tour operator doesn’t respond to chat texts. For instance, I booked April 7 and by 10 AM I still didn’t know what time I was supposed to go for my actual ticket.

Not clear with the schedule

First of all there was no specific time for the entry… i contacted aviator and asked what time we need to be there and they asked what time I want to start the tour. So i told them 13:00. Then they sent me a message saying that the tour will start at 12:00. Due to this change, our entire schedule was compromised, and we were unable to attend our 12:00 booking at the YSL Museum.

NON COMPRATE ASSOLUTAMENTE DA QUESTA AGENZIA !!! MI HANNO RUBATO I SOLDI. Mi hanno fatto comprare i biglietti per questa visita programmata per il giorno 31.01 al mattino. l'agenzia mi chiama e mi dice che non era disponibile e mi chiede di spostare al giorno successivo ma avevo il volo di ritorno quindi non potevo, e mi promettono un rimborso completo. SONO SPARITI !!! non rispondono al telefono e viator non mi rimborsa 180€ spesi. LADRI !!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS AGENCY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! THEY STOLE MY MONEY. They made me purchase tickets for a tour scheduled for the morning of January 31st. The agency then called me saying the tour was not available and asked me to move it to the following day, but I had my return flight and couldn’t do it. They promised me a full refund. THEY DISAPPEARED!!! They don’t answer the phone anymore and Viator is not refunding the €180 I paid. THIEVES!!!

Disaster - absolutely do not book Had a WhatsApp message late at night from a random number telling us our booking, which had been paid in advance, could not be fulfilled. I contacted viator via their app support and they sent me ticket voucher by email and assured me it was valid. We arrived at jardin Majorelle, with 3 kids after expensive taxi ride, to be told voucher was not valid and we could not enter. Our family left standing in the street - viator have not responded to messages, absolutely no support. This was our only day available to visit the Jardin Majorelle - hugely disappointed. Viator should be ashamed of this service.

The garden itself is worth visiting - very serene, well kept and a pleasure to walk through. Took points off for the huge discrepancy in price between what we were charged through Viator and the price on the actual website and entry point. Would recommend booking through the garden’s website versus Viator. Viator is clearly taking tourists for a ride and getting rich in the process. Will not be booking with them again.

Misleading price information on confirmation invoice stating I paid 340 Moroccan Dirhams (2 x 140) - approximately £27 but took Viator £80 UK pound sterling from my bank. It was not worth the money for basic entry to garden. It only took half an hour to walk around and that was with my 88 year old uncle who uses a walking stick

Horrible experience with this agency, they scammed us and were unable to provide us with tickets. We were denied entry and contacted the agent who said they cannot give us tickets even though they listed them online as available. They have rejected my request for a refund. Do not lose your money.

Booking Majorel Gardens through Viator turned out to be something of a mixed bag. First off, when you book a day, you don’t actually get to choose a time—this is allocated automatically. That’s fine in theory, but in practice it caused conflicts with other pre-booked activities. It’s a pity Viator doesn’t use a bit of AI logic to avoid clashes or at least offer smarter scheduling. We did manage to move our visit to another day, but even then the new time slot was changed again, forcing us to rearrange other plans. Not ideal. As for the gardens themselves, they feel a bit like the Emperor’s New Clothes. Pleasant enough, yes, but nothing that justifies the sheer number of staff and security milling around, which perhaps explains the rather steep entrance fee. And to top it off, your ticket doesn’t include entry to the additional museum inside — that costs extra. It’s a nice stroll for 40 minutes or so, but overall it’s simply too expensive for what it is. A decent stop if you’re nearby, but not the must-see it’s made out to be.

I did not get a chance to see the gardens because Viator sold me tickets that did not exist… I paid 3 x the price for 4 tickets because I was only going to be in Marrakech that one day - and then they sent me a message saying they had overbooked the tickets and that there was availability 2 days later, when I would no longer be there. I am waiting for my refund in good faith, after which I will dispute the charge if I don’t get a refund. Buyer beware!!

The gardens are fantastic but Viator charged 80.00 gbp for 2 tickets whose face value was less than half the price Viator charged. . No travel arrangements were included in that price. Taxi was from main square and less than 5 gbp. The Price was a rip off so just get your tickets from from gardens website and organise your own transport.

Didn't get to experience the gardens. Tickets weren't honoured as the day chosen and tickets bought was booked out. Have tried reaching out to Viator and Sunny Morocco . Viator should not of allowed this transaction to happen when there was no availability on my chosen day.
