Waterfall visit

Karen_F, Feb 2026
Long journey out of Marrakesh. Waterfalls are worth seeing -need trainers. Walk down to bottom waterfall about 15 minutes not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. On boat for about 10-15 minutes you will get wet. It is also always very muddy at the bottom due to the spray. Lunch was fine about 280 dirhams for 2 and of reasonable quality. Then 500 steps back up after lunch.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the waterfalls worth visiting. As you correctly mentioned, comfortable trainers are highly recommended, and the walk to the lower waterfall (approximately 15 minutes) as well as the steps back up can indeed be challenging for guests with limited mobility. The short boat ride near the falls is designed to bring visitors close to the water, which is why getting slightly wet and encountering muddy areas due to the spray is quite common. We also appreciate your comments regarding lunch and the overall experience. Your practical insights will certainly be helpful for future travelers preparing for the excursion. Thank you again for your valuable review, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure in Morocco.

Aiden_R, Dec 2025
Abdeljalil Did an amazing job as a guide very friendly and helpful. Everything was great. People said it was a workout but honestly wasn’t bad at all. Cost 2 dirham for bathroom at start. Then 130 for a lunch meal at the waterfall. At the end there is a free bathroom.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that Abdeljalil made your experience enjoyable and that you found everything manageable and fun. We appreciate you sharing the details about the costs and facilities—it’s always helpful for future visitors. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!

Steep Trek

Val_E, Nov 2025
It was a marvellous experience but make sure you have the correct foot wear as it's a long and steep trek. Our guide was brilliant. Saw lots of monkeys.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience! We are delighted to hear that you had a marvellous time and enjoyed the trek, as well as the company of the monkeys. We’re also pleased that your guide made the experience even better. Thank you as well for highlighting the importance of proper footwear — it is very helpful advice for future travelers. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you on another adventure soon!

Beautiful Waterfall, but Be Prepared for the Hustle

Antonay_B, Sep 2025
The waterfall itself is stunning and definitely worth seeing. However, getting there is a bit of a journey — it’s a 3-hour drive from Marrakesh, with a challenging hike once you arrive. The trail involves a lot of stairs and uneven terrain, so wear proper shoes and be ready for a workout. On the way there, they stop about halfway for snacks and a bathroom break — but the catch is, you’re taken to a place where you have to pay to use the restroom, which feels like a setup. What makes it worse is that on the way back, they stop at a completely different place with free bathrooms. It really gives the impression that parts of the tour are designed to squeeze extra money out of tourists, and that some people along the route may be in on the hustle. Be careful with the ticket you purchase — some packages include a boat ride at the waterfall, but at the end, they may still try to charge you for it again, assuming you won’t notice. After the hike, they also pressure you to eat lunch at one of their designated restaurants. It would be nice if there was an option to skip the lunch stop, especially for people who would rather head back sooner or eat somewhere else. All in all, the natural beauty of the waterfall makes the trip worthwhile, but the overall experience is tainted by a lack of transparency and some clear attempts to upsell or overcharge tourists. Go in prepared, and you’ll enjoy it much more.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you found the waterfall stunning and enjoyed the natural beauty of the area. We appreciate your points regarding the hike, restroom stops, and optional experiences like the boat ride and lunch. Your comments help us identify areas where we can improve transparency and communication with our guests. We will review these aspects to ensure future travelers have a smoother and more straightforward experience while still enjoying everything this beautiful destination has to offer. Thank you again for your thoughtful input.

1O/1O Recommend!

Anna_R, Sep 2025
As far as tour guides go, Jalal was amazing! Knowledgeable, caring, and patient - not to mention, multilingual! As a solo traveler (and only English speaker) amidst a big group of tourists, he made sure I felt welcome rather than neglected or dismissed. He offered to take photos and even inserted some humor on our trek back up to the van. If you’re one for good food, insane views, and and plenty of memorable moments, you can’t afford NOT to book this experience with Jalal!

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that Jalal made your experience so special with his knowledge, care, and humor. It is great that you felt welcome and enjoyed the food, views, and memorable moments. We will be sure to share your kind words with him!

Worth visiting the 2nd highest waterfalls in Africa

Louise_S, Jul 2025
Was worth the 3 hour journey (with rest stop) to visit from Marrakech. The waterfalls were stunning even during the height of summer with less rainfall. The guide was friendly and it was lovely to meet the berber community to hear more about their ethically produced argan oil.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Good trip for small budget

F_G, Mar 2025
Our host gave many information, he was very friendly and sympathetic. Nice food and nice trip overall. Very good communication, pick-up at the Riad and good price! A pity that the waterfall was not blue but brown because it was muddy from the days before. Would recommend anyways!

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the trip, the food, and the service from our host. We appreciate your understanding about the waterfall—it is nature’s way of keeping things interesting! Your recommendation means a lot, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure soon.

Good tour, albeit van seats very small and narrow

Jaclyn_M, Jan 2025
The tour is good, however be aware that van seats are very small and trip is almost 3 hours each way. Even though my Viator ticket clearly showed boat ride was included, with a green check mark shown to that effect the tour operator told the local tour guide that we had to pay for the boat rides anyway. It’s not about the money as boat rides were 20dh per person, but it is something that future travelers must be aware of. I lodged a complaint with Viator afterwards but their answer was there is nothing they can do about it. Lunch place in view of the waterfall was good, 140dh per person for a simple menu du jour.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the tour overall and found the lunch spot enjoyable. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience regarding the boat ride and the van seats. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it helps us improve communication and ensure that future travelers have a smoother experience. We hope to have the chance to provide you with a fully seamless tour next time.

Ouzoud Falls: Natural Beauty and a Fantastic Local Guide

Katharina_S, Dec 2024
We had a wonderful day at the Ouzoud Falls. We were picked up from home on time and driven there at a relaxed pace by a very calm and skilled driver. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a local guide who was absolutely fantastic. He spoke five languages fluently, along with three Arabic dialects. He led our group to the waterfalls and shared a wealth of interesting information about the area and the Berber families living there. The visit to the argan oil cooperative was also very interesting, and the waterfalls were simply stunning. Unfortunately, the area has become very touristy, and the local Barbary monkeys have been trained by the residents to behave almost like circus performers. Every tourist is immediately approached, with locals offering "free" peas or bread to feed the monkeys, only to later demand payment after you've taken a picture or video of the monkey on your shoulder. Luckily, our guide warned us about this in advance. The boat ride cost an additional €5 (€2 for the boat and €3 for the rower, who is necessary to operate the boat). However, it was a beautiful and well-organized experience, with the flow of tourists managed efficiently. The restaurants available for lunch were rather average, all offering the same menu and not putting much effort into preparation, likely because new groups of 20-30 tourists arrived constantly. We were glad we brought sandwiches and didn’t have to rely on the food there. Overall, it was a great hike with stunning waterfalls that, despite the number of tourists, still felt peaceful and idyllic. The local guide was exceptional (unfortunately, I forgot his name, but there can't be many guides who speak five foreign languages and three dialects).

Great tour, very informative

Zeenat_M, Dec 2024
This tour was absolutely amazing. Even though the journey getting there was longer than we had expected, it was all worth it when we arrived and saw the amazing views! Our tour guide Abdul Jalil was really helpful and informative. At one point we were behind and he came back to walk with us. He took care of each and every one of us. Would definitely recommend this tour to others!

Ouzoud Waterfalls

Dawna_R, Nov 2024
Was a great day out at the Ouzoud Waterfalls. I thought the water would have been clear at the bottom, but it was brown and muddy. The boat ride was a little disappointing. It's really just to get you over to the other side and takes literally 5 minutes lol. The monkeys' were lovely and we got to feed them. Stopped and had food which was delicious. I recommend the tagines very tasty. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to take pictures and purchase items which was being sold along the way. You do get a little fed up of everyone trying to sell you stuff which you don't want or need. Overall trip very enjoyable.

Nice day out

Louise_B, Oct 2024
It was such a fun day our guide was lovely the views were beautiful the cafe where you have your tea was nice we had chicken kebabs the bus is long though it took about 3.5 hours in the blistering heat the air con wasn’t on the driver only opened one window and the whole bus was full of French no English speaking which made it hard work but all in all an enjoyable day just be prepared for the bus ride

Fun day trip - but book small group

Jesse_H, Aug 2024
Nice waterfall but 3 hours on big bus there, 3 hours at waterfall, 3 hours back on bus - large group you have to stay with! Option to eat at restrunt - big tip if your after better meal deal dont do the set meal they push ( walk away from the group to the upper tables and order the large tangier and spilt between two - they wont tell you about it but its half the price and double the size and made better) price of the boat ride at the waterfall 2euro

Tiring

Akaash_H, Aug 2024
Younes belloud our tour guide was lovely. He was very good at guiding and explaining in multiple different languages. However the company behind the booking Easy Transfers was very disorganised and disappointing. We were told to be ready for a 7:14 am pick up. The van driver then picked up the wrong people and we were taken to another van site where we waited around an hour. The actually van full of our group eventually arrived after 8:30am. We then had to go pick up more people. It took 3 hours to get there with the van driver thinking speed bumps are fine to go over at any speed! Very uncomfortable drive with barely any air con and around 16 people in the van. The waterfalls are beautiful but the journey from Marrakesh is personally not worth it. We didn’t get back to our hotel until 8:15pm because the driver missed our hotel and we had to drop other people off. When told he was very annoyed which seemed odd considering we were the ones having to have an extended journey and another family was getting late to check in for their flight!

Response from Host, Jan 2025

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience. We are so glad to hear that Younes Belloud, your tour guide, made such a positive impact, especially with his ability to guide and explain things in multiple languages. Than you as well for your option about the transportation , we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Super, well organised and great experience.

Nick_H, Aug 2024
Briliant day. I went alone, and left hubby and kids at the hotel! Not sure the teenagers would have appreciated the experience and walking, but I loved every minute. Spent the whole day smiling! Great tour guide. Long journey but that's just the way it is! Superbly organised and felt 100% safe as a female lone traveller!

Response from Host, Jan 2025

Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so glad to hear that you had a fantastic day, and it is great that you felt completely safe as a solo female traveler. It is true that the journey can be long, but we are happy to know it was well-organized and that you enjoyed every minute of it! Your positive experience with the tour guide is also fantastic to hear—guides really do make a difference. We are delighted you had such a memorable day and left with a big smile! Thank you for sharing, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again on another adventure!

Enjoyed

Stephen_G, Jul 2024
The trip was great guides were great👍 Just the stop on the way home was pointless everyone was sleeping so no one got off the bus to buy stufff from the shop

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Thank you for your feedback! We are thrilled to hear that you had a great trip and that our guides were excellent. We appreciate your honesty regarding the stop on the way home. We will take your feedback into consideration to improve future trips. We hope to see you again on another adventure!

Great day trip

ammaarahravat, May 2024
Included pick up and drop from our riad. Lunch was not included but it was a modest 120 MAD person person for a 3 course meal including water and it was lovely. We also got to see the monkeys up close. Important to note the excursion did not include the boat ride however we paid for this separately at only 20 MAD per person. It's worth not getting the boat option and paying the boat option there

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Thank you for sharing your experience! We are glad to hear that the pick-up and drop-off from your riad was included. It's great that you found the lunch affordable and enjoyable. Seeing the monkeys up close must have been a highlight!

Great day out

Maciek_B, Apr 2024
Great day out, for the price of this tour I would strongly recommend it to get out of busy Marrakech for a day.

Underwhelmed!

Nicola_H, Jan 2024
Sadly our overriding memory is of a 7 hour 25 min return drive for 3 hours at the waterfalls. In part due to the police stopping the driver and because of paperwork issues he was not able to drive the minibus so a new bus and driver needed to be sourced but no info was forthcoming and no apology! Waterfalls from the top nothing special but at the bottom they are more impressive. The boat ride is under 10 mins but worth booking on this tour as the boat trip alone at the falls is 25 euros per person! Your guide will take you to a designated terrace for lunch - not included - and price is reasonable for starter, tagine, fruit and water at approx £10 but if you are on a tight budget the restaurants at the top of the falls are half the price! Monkeys are fun to look at and watch their antics. However, all in all really quite underwhelmed.

Here is an honest review from an experienced traveller

Priscila_R, Aug 2023
I am a waterfall lover. I’ve been to waterfalls all over the world and no matter what, a waterfall never disappoints me but I don’t recommend this experience and I will state all the positive and negatives below. I hope it helps you to make a decision. The pick up time was bang on time and easy, it was a great start and professional. Communication was good before the day and I knew exactly where to stand. They picked us up from Cafe France in the middle of the Jemal el Fna square in Marrakech but they also do pick ups from Riads around the city. We knew the journey was approx 3 hours each way and I was ok with that but it was very frustrating when, as soon as our mini bus was full and we were ready to go, the driver kept stopping (at least 3 times and without explanation) to simply chat with his mate in one ocassion and at a different time to even deliver what it seemed to be two bottles of oil (?) to a bar. All this added at least 20 minutes to our journey. The minibus we travelled in did not have enough leg room. My partner is 5.9 and had to sit twisted for 3 hours and I ended up having sore knees. I’ve had more leg room in airplane toilets! The mini bus had air conditioning but it can get a bit chilly so be ready for this. The seat we were in had a broken aircon outlet and we had to stuff a tshirt so we would not freeze as it could not even be regulated. The roads are good and the journey is basically what it feels like a straight line. The driving was very good! Once at the waterfall, we were greeted by a guide and headed to the waterfalls in a very large group with other people. You start the journey at the top of the waterfall. The fall is beautiful but the water is muddy. The journey continues down where you see overfed monkeys and locals trying to sell you peanuts so you can feed them. Please don’t do this, the monkeys did not even feel healthy, they were all fat from all the food tourists give them. It was very sad to see them exploited that way. Once at the bottom, the guides direct you to certain restaurants so you can “rest” but also spend your money. At this point we decided to go our way and spend a bit longer at the waterfall taking pictures and I’m glad we made that decision because once you are at the bottom they only allow you to get on the boat and there’s not much time for pictures. At the bottom of the waterfall there are a lot of locals swimming. The waterfall is muddy because of the soil but it was also very dirty, full of rubbish and very badly looked after. The water smelled badly in certain areas as well. It was sad to see all the rubbish the locals leave behind. The “boat ride” is simply a quick ride to cross for one side to the other, which I don’t recommend paying for, even though us only 20 D. You can do the crossing walking, make sure you have comfortable shoes, although we did it in flip flops and even my elderly parents could cross it with a bit of help. One more thing about the boat ride… After talking to customer service, apparently, I selected an option that did not include the boat ride, even though in the details of my reservation said it did include it (see screenshot attached to the review) and the tour guides made us feel like criminals who were trying to steal from them or trying to get the ride for free. It was pretty embarrassing. The information from the booking is confusing as it says it includes certain services that it does not include at the end, so again, quite disappointing and unclear experience. Once on the other side, they take you to a restaurant (you can’t choose, they take you to the one they have an agreement with of course) and there’s a set menu. The food here was good, they greeted us with cold water which was lovely. The food was the highlight of the day after a bit disappointing experience so far. They charge you 12€ for the set menu. You can also use the toilet, please ignore the woman asking for 20 dirham, you are already spending money at the restaurant! At this point we were a bit fed up to be treated like a bank by the locals. After the hike (approx 2 hours and pretty easy and accesible to do) the tour guide was spraying people with water from the canal - which again I did not find very hygienic! On our way back to Marrakech we stopped for a break and when we were about to leave, they asked us to move mini buses once we were already sat uncomfortably in our narrow seats (communication was poor). Luckily, the other mini bus had better leg room, phew! In conclusion, I believe they have a lot of work to do when treating tourists and I do not recommend doing this trip with this company or the tour operator for all the stated reasons. Beware of miscommunication!

Beautiful

Nicholas_G, Jun 2023
Beautiful place and well worth the trip. It is a lot of travelling for a very limited amount of time at the waterfalls though.

Great trip

Katarzyna_K, May 2023
Great trip. Picked up on time. Good helpful driver. The excursions are amazing. Such a stunning place.

Not worth it

CorinaTess_M, May 2023
Not really worth it. It's a really long drive, the boat ride was cancelled and no refund was offered, the guide was super pushy and overall it just wasn't worth the time or money. The monkeys were cool, only reason it gets 2 stars instead of 1.

Response from Host, Jun 2023

I'm sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations. A long drive can certainly be tiring, especially if the other aspects of the tour didn't live up to your hopes. There is a procedure to follow with Viator and not the tour operator in order to process the partial refund. We did not receive any request from Viator. It's good to hear that you found the monkeys to be a positive aspect of the tour, which influenced your rating. Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I hope your future experiences are more enjoyable.

9 hours on the road. 2...

AdiPetrut_V, May 2023
9 hours on the road. 2 hours on site. :-( Better time organization it will help in enjoying more of the purpose of the trip.

Lovely day out

Iqra_R, Apr 2023
Amazing day out with a lovely group and tour guide. Stunning views of the waterfall. Little boat ride was also a fun experience, get to go right close to the base of the waterfall. Few diving spots nearby for swimming. Had lunch in a lovely cafe right opposite the waterfall.

Apes, omg

Michael_Y, Apr 2023
Great tour, very friendly! Some miscommunication about the start time (the site says 8 but they insisted on picking up at 730, so pay attention!) but they were great all day to keep us on track. Thanks again :)

Ouzoud Morocco Waterfalls Tour March 2023

Jack_L, Mar 2023
Viator was on-time, efficient, and provided comfortable transportation. We went from Marrakesh to Ouzoud Waterfalls in Morocco. It is a 3 hour drive each way. Our total price of $25 each included the transportation from our hotel, a boat ride that took us within 10 feet of the falls and an English speaking guide who navigated us from the top of the falls down to the lake at the bottom. This was a great value!

Excellent guide and good...
