This is a MUST do when you are in Morocco! We had the best time at this workshop. We were met by a professional English speaking driver and taken to the authentic workshop where we were greeted with tea and cookies. During the workshop we got to try all the steps of making a mosaic including a piece to take home. The artist we worked with was so talented (and patient). Totally worth it!!

I very much enjoyed the experience of both observing and trying traditional mosaic techniques. The teacher was a master and very good at showing the techniques.
I also was really pleased with my small trivet that I will be taking home with me as a memory.

Really enjoyed this experience! The driver picked us up in a convenient location, and the drive was safe and comfortable. He stayed with us and served as the English translator for the artisan. We were kindly served tea and then the workshop started. We saw the process step by step. Chiseled a few pieces - which of course the artisan made look very easy! He helped us with grace and humor. Then we learned how to put a mosaic together. Lastly we selected pieces and made our own tile which we got to take home. It was a very pleasant couple of hours and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is also enchanted with the mosaics of Marrakech!

The entire experience was amazing starting from the car ride to the location. The driver was very kind and sociable, and would help us come up with where to go for food or activities after. After reaching the studio, the instructor showed us how to make the tiles from scratch and allowed us to chisel our own tiles (which is really hard but he walks you through it). He also showed us how to design the tiles and eventually design our own and keep it as a souvenir. Highly recommend for anyone (especially beginners) to try out!

Wonderful and unique experience.
As there was only our group joined the workshop, it became a private tour. Master was super nice and we could experience every step in mosaic. It was really hard to do the mosaic cut! But you will have your own made coaster. Memorable and shall not be missed.

One of our favourite experiences! The experience was so authentic and unique, something we will remember forever and have a little take home piece to keep as a reminder.
Essadik was a wonderful teacher, such a kind, gentle man with a wealth of knowledge and patience! So warm and welcoming.
You actually are given a chisel and tiles to cut your own shapes. Much harder than it looks. And then the fun part of designing your own tile to take home.
Would highly recommend this experience to anyone for something a little different to fill a morning

It was a very fun and unique experience! Sadek and Abdel were very hospitable and kind. You get to learn about the process of making mosaics, from cutting the tiles to putting them together to form a pattern. Ultimately bringing home a very nice mosaic pattern.

I went on another mosaic tour during my time in Morocco but this was the best. You actually are given a chisel to make your own tiles. This class gives you an appreciation for the talent it takes to make the beautiful mosaics. I highly recommend this experience.

The ceramic mosaic workshop was fabulous! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the way it was taught (Sabik) with the translation and help of Abdel kindly, warmly and charmingly taught us to cut tile, place pieces for a team project and then make our own tiles to take with us. We had so much fun and really developed a renewed appreciation for all these magnificent mosaics! Abdel picked us up at our hotel, provided water and a drive by tour of the places we saw on the way. A delightful experience - so glad we did it!

Brilliant hands-on experience! We saw how the tiles are made by hand and fired. Then we had a go at shaping some mosaic tile pieces, which was more difficult than it seems! Then we made mosaic coasters which we took home. Fantastic experience, highly recommended.

This experience in Marrakech was so cool! The workshop is located just outside the city, so be prepared for a short drive—but it was absolutely worth it. Guided by a master mosaicist, we learned every step of the process, from cutting the tesserae to assembling traditional Moroccan patterns. Through this experience, we discovered the history of this craft and the symbolic meaning behind the geometric designs.
It was just us and one other family, so it felt almost private. The experience was unique, authentic, and hands-on—we each got to create our own tile to take home. I would highly recommend this—it really makes you appreciate the skill and artistry of the Moroccan people.

This workshop was beyond our expectations. We were shown the whole process of making tiles and the finished artwork with a great translation from our guide.
