Hijacked my reservation

We thought we booked a reservation at Heritage spa, which is within four minutes of our hotel. They informed us that we were going to go to some spa that we had never heard of and had not been recommended. They refused to refund our reservation funds, and when we decided not to go to some spa, we had never heard of. They put us down as a no-show.

The body scrub was very short as they divided the time between my wife with one lady and it was very short, with a lot of waiting time and no explanation as they spoke little to no english. The massage was great as we had a masseuse each

This was a wonderful cultural experience! I went with my husband after reading the reviews and it was spiritual and awakening! We both felt so welcomed and special as they share this ancient tradition. We highly recommend and would definitely book a room on our return as it was so enjoyable and peaceful distressing and sacred!

Not only was this experience excellent value for money but it was also an exceptional massage. A beautiful spa tucked away with very kind, well-mannered staff. Me and my friend weren’t too well versed on what a hammam would entail but we were very open to the experience. I would advise others to research the details of a hammam massage as some parts may not be what people expect. For example, we both wore swimsuits but for the most parts these were down to our hips for the massage to take place, we were more the comfortable with this as privacy and dignity were upheld at all times. The full body exfoliation (black soap scrub) for some may not be pleasant but we both enjoyed it and found it refreshing. The following full body massage was absolutely heavenly and included a facial. Could not fault the staff, the facilities or the afternoon. Would definitely do this again in a heartbeat!

firstly they said they would pick us as it included transport. We waited 45min!!!!!!! While my boyfriend was in the massage room someone just walked in while he was naked!! the scarper they use was really really hard!!!!! Definitely NOT a luxury experience also there was no mint tea and it was just a rub NOT a proper argan oil massage as stated

Booked for 10am and was picked up on time and arrived by 10am. We didn't get into the hammam until around 10.40am as we had to wait for bath to warm up. I thought this was a poor excuse as they knew we was booked in at 10am so should have had it ready for that time especially as that's when the open. Bath was good but felt a bit rushed towards the end as we could hear more people arriving. The massage was pleasant but not much effort put into it. If you have ever had a Turkish hammam and massage I prefer that to the Moroccan

We were picked up efficiently in a clean car & driven to the spa. We were meet by some friendly staff and sat in a comfortable, authentic looking lovely area where we were given tasty mint tea to relax. We were given a locker to put small bags & valuables in. We were taken to a private room & given towels, flip flops & a basket to put our clothes in. Then we were taken into a private hammam. You really need to leave your modesty (& clothes) at the door & get into the spirit of this experience. You are washed & scrubbed down from top to toe including hair wash by a lovely hard working lady, its a wonderful relaxing & refreshing experience. We were then wrapped in robes and taken for our massage. Again they worked top to toe including abit of a facial. It was a lovely massage & for me perfect pressure. When we finished we were picked up by the driver & taken back to our hotel. I can not recommend this experience enough we had a wonderful time & just what we needed after a night celebrating NYE. Frlt throughly spoilt & relaxed

Unfortunately, I have to give this experience 3 out of 5 stars but I will tell you why. First, since our Riyad could not be accessed by car, we had to meet at another location for our guide. We were asked to meet at another Hammam so we assumed that’s where we would have our experience. When we arrived we were one minute late from the assigned time, but the young man who met us, made it very clear that we were three minutes late, that he was there early and since we were not there, he had to park the van somewhere else. We then went into the van and understood that we were going to another Hammam. It was about a 15 ride through a downtown, more modern area of the city. We were then asked to get out of the van, to walk down an alleyway to our Hammam. We were pleasantly greeted by what seemed to us a married couple who were the managers. They welcomed us and and asked us to sit in a reception area and poured us some lovely mint tea. We then waited at a least 20 minutes before being led to a very small changing room, and were asked to disrobe, to put on a disposable brief, and to put on a thick robe. While changing though, a lady tried to come into our room and we were not yet even robed. After a few minutes she came back in and led us through another door to a very small, tiled lined room with two tile lined benches where we were asked to lie down. It was a steam room but there wasn’t a lot of steam, and it was in this room, we realized we were being scrubbed by this woman. She was very professional. We were two men and was a bit shocked that a woman would be scrubbing us since this was a very conservative country. She took turns scrubbing and rinsing us down. The wait between scrubs was a little awkward but it was fine. The scrubbing was not super intense as what I expected, similar to what I’ve read in a Turkish bath. Following this experience, we were led to another room with two massage tables, prepared for a couples massage. A thin veil hung between the tables and again, two women massaged the two of us. My husband enjoyed his relaxing massage and was snoring for part of it, while I did not. I like a stronger massage and the pressure used was very light. The worse part of the massage was the fact that the entire establishment was very small, and you could hear through the doors, other guest conversations very loudly. There was another group of women behind us, and they were talking and laughing the entire time, so it was not relaxing for me. Another thing I noticed is that some of the towels or sheets smelled badly, like they had not been washed or dried completely. It was a musty and damp odor on the massage table. It was not extremely strong but it was not pleasant. Following the massage, we changed and waited in another room but because there were two young men splayed out in the seating area, we had to stand and wait for our van driver to return us back to old town. The managers asked us to sit but made no effort to ask the other guests to move over so just remained standing until they left the room. We still left a small tip for the ladies for their effort, but, all in all, we were very underwhelmed and would not recommend this particular experience. We especially do not recommend this Hammam. The next time we return, we will want to try another Hammam to change our impression on what better experience we think Marrakesh can give us.

The driver spoke English picked me up without a problem, arrived there, got changed and went for a wash it was a bit too intimate tho lol as you had to take your top off but I understood that’s their way of doing things so just went along, was a barrier of communication but I ended up understanding. Whole experience was ok as I did fall asleep during the massage a couple of times lol the massage on the shoulders and back for a bit to intense for me and then just sat and got ready to leave.

Very unique experience. At first it seemed very disorganized and women were yelling at the beginning. I thought to myself, well this isn't going to be relaxing, but it ended up great. It isn't something i would do every time, but i do highly recommend doing once. Dont forget to bring a swimsuit bottom. I wasn't aware we were going to get doused with soap and water :)

Not authentic hammam

The hammam was far from being authentic, it was like a sauna at best with some bad scrubbing in a shabby hot room (and didn’t look very clean). Didnt help that the staffs couldn’t speak English so no explanation what was going on. The relaxing message was nice and lasted about 45mins. If you want to experience an authentic hammam bath, I wouldn’t recommend this.

It was straightforward. The driver picked me up at the agreed location. Arrived in the spa with 2 other tourists. Went to a hot room like a sauna where A lady applied savon noir all over my body and left me to spend a good amount of time there. It felt like a total detox for my skin. Then she scrubbed me and washed my hair too. We had mint tea, dates and nuts before we had our massage. The massage was good as well. Overall I’m very satisfied!

the ladies here are lovely, the hammam & massage package is incredible really leaves you feeling cleaned scrubbed then relaxed and stress free. Need to wear a bikini not a costume as I did whoops. Recommend highly.

It wasn’t the most luxurious spa we went as friends. It started when they provided us robes that smelled like it has not been washed properly since you can still smell the oil of the previous user, then we went into this “steam” room wherein they would just pour water in you without any warnings - maybe due to language barrier(?) but it’s better to always seek for permission first. But to be fair, the scrub was nice since they used different “exfoliator” on each of us. Then we went to the massage room where it wasn’t that bad, but we didn’t get enough pressure when they were “massaging” us. Seems like we were just getting rubbed with oil. The 50mins experience seems like it was only 30mins due to the fact that maybe there’s others waiting in queue.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely experience at this spa. First we lay in a clay room warming up, then they scrubbed us down with ex-foliating gloves/scrub and then there was a 40 minute massage. We felt refreshed and our skin was glowing pink by the end!

What a lovely way to experience a hammam. Check your modesty at the door. The whole experience was so easy. They picked me up near my riad and escorted me to the spa. You change at the spa and store your belongings in a locked area. Then uou relax and enjoy. You go to a steam room where you are washed with black salt and polished clean. After enjoy tea with treats. Then time for the massage. Which was so relaxing. When all di e they bring you back to your riad. Well worth it

This was the most luxurious massage and scrub I have ever had. The amount of oil poured over me in the hammam was incredible. The place was tucked away and is an authentic experience. The treatment included oil and water on the head and hair and left it shiny and healthy looking. I highly recommend this place.

The staff was very nice especially the driver,friendly and on time. The worse part was the massage which last like 30 min instead of 50 min. We had to relax more taking the tea,relaxing after the massage.We felt like we spent more time relaxing than having a proper massage.

Traditional soap used in their body scrub down was different in a fun way. My 9 year old and my mother all enjoyed it too! Getting the times sorted out was a little tricky. I asked for a certain time and later they changed it.
