What a wonderful experience. We shared an afternoon of cooking together and learning about the local culture. The meal was incredibly delicious and our host was warm and friendly, not to mention such a talented cook. Do not miss this.

Wasn’t outside as in reviews and we didn’t get to go to the market to pick products which was seen in same reviews. However fatima was amazing and the food we coooee was absolutely gorgeous. I wish the recipes she supplied were a bit more detailed and i remember some steps from the day which aren’t in the recipes. I still recommend the experience as it’s well worth it but not a must do.

It was a wonderful class. The chef was fun and gave us many tips and teach us about Moroccan cuisine. Everyone participated during the cooking process. The food was delicious

We had a lovely morning cooking and learning about Moroccan cuisine. There was a lot of detail and I learnt a lot. The food was delicious as well!

We were really looking forward to this cooking class, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations.
First of all, we were informed very late – only the night before – that the class would start 30 minutes earlier. There was a lot of pressure to be there at 10 AM, but I had chosen this class specifically because of its scheduled time, as I had an appointment beforehand.
Another major disappointment was that, according to the description, we were supposed to visit the market to buy ingredients, which was one of the reasons we booked this class. However, when we arrived, we were told that the market was closed due to Ramadan. If that was the case, why was there so much pressure to arrive early for a market visit that never happened? Also, they could have informed us about that fact more in prior so we could still have cancled the activity or search for another one, but only when we arrived to the meeting point for the cooking class, they informed us that we're not going to the market.
Additionally, the class was advertised as "Cooking Class with Fatima," and we booked it because we wanted to learn from her. However, Fatima did not teach the class— her son (?) Yassir did. Fatima was only present to wash dishes and clean up, which was quite sad. However, Yassir was really nice with teaching the class, but we wanted to support a female chef offering this activity, therefore, the promotion of the activity and the title were misleading.
As for the actual cooking experience, we barely cooked at all. Most of the time was spent peeling and chopping vegetables. The recipes were very repetitive, with all dishes using the same spices and having an overwhelming lemon flavor. The dessert was just sliced oranges sprinkled with cinnamon. The food was okay, but we wouldn’t really call this a proper cooking class, compared with cooking classes we did before in Indonesia, Thailand and other countries.
Also the class only lasted around 2 hr 30 min and not 3 hr 30 as stated in the description.
Overall, we expected much more and wouldn’t recommend this class to others.

Wooaaah I really needed more than the 2h30 hours you said that you spent in the cooking classes,
I already informed you that we will start at 10h00 and it was more than 13 participants here in time no complaints.
You're asking for the market in ramadan and we're fasting?
I really wish if I could tell you that we wot do the market so you could cancel because, everything you said is not true , and the food you said it was the same recipe, you've been the last one eating in the table.
Sorry if it's disappointing for you but it is for me to have a review like this after 10 years

What a lovely experience. Learned a lot about Moroccan cuisine and had a great meal too. Fatima was friendly and explained everything.

Fatima and her brother Yesir were fantastic. Great knowledge of Moroccan food. Thanks for a great day. I recommend anyone wanting to learn Moroccan cooking to take Fatima’s class!!!!

Yasser and Fatima were such good teachers in French and English! We had a great time learning traditionally cooking techniques, laughing, and trying new foods together. This was a great experience and well worth the price.
Shafana_M, Aug 2024
The cooking experience was wonderful and we loved Yasser and Fatima. Honestly was best Tagine we have eaten in Morrocco and the salads were great. A bit of confusion on booking site as it says 4:00 but was for 10:30 AM and booking for kids under 18 bit over 11 there wasn’t a category to choose when booking and we were called out on it which I didn’t appreciate. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Fix info on system to avoid any misrepresentation. The experience itself was wonderful and highly recommended.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Thank you so much , nothing was confusing we just wanted you to enjoy it more ,
Even if you booked for 2 under age kids but you brought e adults and we didn't ask you to pay , but it's okay we deserve 4 stars for our kindness

It was a lovely experience cooking with Yasser, he was very down to earth and willing to share all the tips to make typical Moroccan cousine. We made chicken lemon tagine, 3 sides (potato salad, Moroccan salad and zucchini salad) and a dessert. I was able to purchase spices from them which they made themselves. Thank you!
Nina_S, Jul 2024
It was a great experience and I have come away with such good knowledge on spices and herbs in Morroccain cooking and the pace of the course was excellent. I was slightly early and Yassine was very accommodating and offered me mint tea. I would highly recommend this experience

A fabulous experience, highly recommended. Fatima, Yassir and family were so welcoming to me and my sixteen year old son. We cooked chicken tagine with three salads and it was all delicious.

What an outstanding morning with Fatima and her family, she was so patient and explained everything so well. The food was outstanding? So tasteful and authentic. Quality of ingredients could not be faulted. A lovely morning experiencing family life in a typical Moroccan Riad. Could not fault it

The meeting place and time time were changed the evening before. It was not made clear that a new meeting place had been selected; I was simply sent a map reference with no comment at all. I arrived on time in the agreed meeting place and no-one met me. No attempt was made to find me although it must have been obvious where I was. I therefore missed the entire experience and have no idea if it was good. I wish I could give zero stars rather than one.

Upside delightful Fatima & family. Fellow participants 6 from USA & 2 from Germany good & pleasant. Chopped lots of vegetables, adding different spices and mixing into food or making marinades. Finished with 3 salads, chicken & lemon tagine + vegetable tagine and a put together yourself dessert of filo pastry, fresh apple with a vanilla yoghurt & cinnamon. Given some interesting information & history on Morocco and shared some travel experiences with one another.
Downside. Let down very badly by being forgotten when they should have been there to meet us at their chosen rendezvous. We got there at the appointed time, but we weren't met to be taken the remaining 400 metres to the cooking Riad. Had we not had Google maps offline for Marrakech, we would have missed out completely - no real apology for this , left us well peeved as it seemed the USA group was their priority. Then no venturing out to a market for the vegetables or going to the bakers for the bread. So we felt disappointed compared to our sons experience on a similar cooking experience just a few years ago, which had been the reason for us trying on our visit.

This was a wonderful experience in a private RIAD. It’s a little hard to find on your own, but if you ask for help me, gladly Ofer it. . The whole family was so welcoming and kind to us and explained everything in detail.
Honestly the best activity we did whilst we were in Marrakesh and absolutely the best food that we ate in all of the six days that we were here! Please don’t hesitate to give this a go. It’s a real relaxed pace learning activity and if you are a foodie, you will love it.

An absolutely fabulous day with a beautiful family. Learned so much about Moroccan cooking techniques and enjoyed some of the best food on my trip! This was probably my favourite activity that I did on my holiday. Highly recommend!
Heather_S, Mar 2023
I booked the class for me and my boyfriend and it exceeded all expectations. It was a top highlight of our trip. Yassir took us to the market and we picked out the ingredients, and then we spent the morning and early afternoon learning how to cook the dishes with Fatima. Their homemade spices are amazing, and the day in general was magical. Thank you!

What a wonderful experience! The best Tagine we had in Marrakech and we hand selected the produce ourselves. Yesser and his aunts have such a beautiful home and they are very knowledgeable and helpful, even after the class. I would recommend this to everyone who wants to experience the best Tagine in Marrakech. ❤️

This was by far the best meal we had during our stay in Marrakech! The extremely friendly hosts guided us through all the steps of buying and cooking four salads, a (chicken) tanjine and a desert - a top notch experience that brought us closer to appreciate (even more) the Moroccan kitchen and culture!

Truly fantastic experience! So much fun. Our family of 5 (two teen boys and 6 year old boy) absolutely loved it.

Highlight of the Trip!!!
Anoir was the most amazing, friendly and true kind person and he made sure we had the best time Marrakesh not only while we were in his cooking class but during our time in the city.
I booked the class for myself and my partner. No one else was in the class on that day so it was just us three and Anoir’s Aunty who guided us through an amazing traditional cooking experience. Anoir gave us so much advance on good places to eat, drink and shop. After the class he kept in touch and met up with us a couple of days later to buy some traditional cooking dishes and spices. His dad also own a shop in the Medina and on another day he showed us around and help us buy some items. He asked for nothing and is just one of the kind person I’ve met while travelling! You’ll be crazy not to book.

Anoir is the very best!
Very friendly, helpfull and the best experience ever.
Highly recommened. Also his English is perfect

We were met by Fatima’s cousin, and cooked with him, another cousin, and another family member of Fatima’s. They were so kind. We felt quite welcome in their place. The first cousin spoke excellent English, so we were able to ask detailed questions about the food and the cooking. And the woman who taught us was a real homebrewer — she made her own vinegar, for instance, which we added to the dishes. We made several appetizers and a huge tagine, which we ate as a couple — we weren’t joined by our culinary guides. Overall, we felt like we were in our own home. Huge value for money. More than money can buy.

The food we prepared with Habiba was the best tasted in our whole permanence in Marocco. It was fun to learn how to cook it and being hosted in a marocan house.
Anuar, her nephew, helped us translating and buying products from locals and he was also a very enjoyable company. Thank you for making our last day in Marrakech just perfect.

An amazing, authentic experience learning about more than just the cooking, with a day spent in the heart of a lovely family chatting about their culture. The dishes we made were delicious with fresh ingredients.
