This tour is basically just subjecting yourself to an exhausting "travel day", as you take various forms of transportation (bus, boat, tram, train) over the course of 8+ hours. Could easily just take a public bus directly from Palma to Soller to enjoy that town and skip the grind of being herded around all day only to spend 30 mins in Soller. Would recommend packing snacks as lunch spots on tour are tourist traps (over priced awful food). In summary, if you want to get some good photos without really experiencing anything, take this tour. If you feel there are some spots on tour that don't appeal and you want to skip all the modes of transport so you can spend more time in certain places, it's easier to bus yourself or rent a car and save yourself money as this tour is expensive.

The Island Tour is not a transfer to Sóller. It is a scenic journey combining coach, boat, tram and the historic wooden train, allowing guests to experience the Serra de Tramuntana from several unique perspectives in a single day. Suggesting that visitors simply take a public bus to Sóller completely misses the purpose of this excursion and means missing the boat trip, the historic tram, the 1912 train and some of Mallorca's most spectacular landscapes.
As for the time spent in each location, the itinerary is clearly described before booking. This is a panoramic tour designed to showcase the island rather than spending an entire day in one place.
Finally, there are several free-time stops throughout the day, including around 90 minutes in Sa Calobra, where guests can explore at their own pace, swim or enjoy lunch wherever they wish. No one is required to eat at any particular restaurant.
This excursion has become one of Mallorca's most popular tours precisely because it allows visitors to experience the island's incredible variety in a single unforgettable day. We're sorry it wasn't the style of excursion you were looking for.

I was originally hesitant to book this because it seemed expensive. It was worth every dollar! I definitely would not have had the courage to drive those mountain roads myself, and our driver was excellent! Antonia helped us learn every step of the way and it was such a smooth experience. The tour itinerary is very good. Enjoyed the drive and train ride. The tram ride was overcrowded and people had to stand for the entire time. The only negative was the multi language narration. By the time you heard the information in your language the point of interest had passed. It was very frustrating to listen to the narration in 4 languages.

The Island Tour is designed to showcase as much of Mallorca as possible in a single day by combining several modes of transport: coach, boat, tram and the historic train. Travelling between the different locations is therefore an essential part of the experience, allowing guests to enjoy some of the island's most spectacular scenery without having to drive themselves.
At the same time, there is also free time to explore: around 30 minutes at Lluc Monastery, approximately 90 minutes in Sa Calobra, 15 minutes in Port de Sóller and around 40 minutes in Sóller. During the train and boat journeys you're also free to move around, admire the views and, on the historic train, many guests enjoy standing on the open rear platform to fully experience the journey.
This excursion is intended as a panoramic tour of Mallorca rather than a full-day visit to one location, and we believe it offers one of the best ways to discover the island's incredible variety in just one day.

This tour is a must! It is breathtaking! The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 stars it’s because I would definitely extend this tour. You need a good 2 hrs extra. To savour the moment in Soler and where we take the tram too. But the rest it’s is just beautiful you will not regret this tour

Unfortunately, one of the biggest limitations of the Island Tour is the timetable of the historic Sóller train. As the train operates on fixed departure times, the entire itinerary has to be carefully coordinated around it, which means extending the stay in Sóller would require removing time from other parts of the excursion.
The purpose of this tour is to offer a complete overview of Mallorca's most spectacular landscapes and transport experiences in a single day, including the mountain roads, Sa Calobra, the boat trip, the tram and the historic train.

We were seated at the meeting place 55 minutes before departure. No bus showed up. No guide got out of a bus to find us. No bus was labeled . No bus number given. My first time booking off cruise and I will never do it again

We are sorry that you missed the excursion, but your description of what happened does not reflect the facts.
On that morning, not only did the passengers for your tour find the correct bus, but there were also dozens of other customers departing from the same meeting area. The 12 passengers booked on your excursion boarded successfully, as did more than 70 passengers waiting for other tours. You were the only guests who did not locate the coach.
This should indicate that the issue was not the absence of the bus or guide, but rather a misunderstanding on your side.
The meeting point is clearly indicated on the voucher, and customers are also provided with contact details and a messaging system should they require assistance. Had you contacted us before departure, we would have been happy to help identify the correct vehicle.
We understand that booking an excursion independently from a cruise ship can feel different from booking directly through the cruise line, but thousands of cruise passengers join our tours every year without difficulty. Missing the departure was unfortunate, but it does not mean the excursion was not properly operated.

When booking this trip on Viator, it said our bus would be in 2 different languages, German and English. When we got on the bus, the tour guide translated to 4 different languages which made it difficult to immerse yourself in the experience. It is also a lot of sitting for all the hours you are gone. If you have any car sickness issues, this is not the tour for you.

First, Viator does not state that this tour is limited to only two languages. The excursion is clearly offered as a multilingual tour, and depending on the group composition, the guide may need to provide information in more than two languages so that all guests can understand the essential details.
Second, describing the day as “a lot of sitting” does not fairly represent the itinerary. This is a full-day sightseeing tour through the Serra de Tramuntana, and the schedule includes many different experiences:
Coach journey through the mountains
Stop at Lluc Monastery
Scenic drive to Sa Calobra
Over 90 minutes of free time in Sa Calobra
Boat trip along the coast
Tram ride
Free time in Sóller
Historic train journey
Return coach transfer
Of course there is travelling involved — the tour includes bus, boat, tram and train — but this is exactly what is described and what makes the excursion so varied.
Regarding motion sickness, we agree this is useful advice: the mountain roads in the Tramuntana include curves and hairpin bends, so guests who are very sensitive to travel sickness should take this into account before booking.

The advert indicates we could specify pick up from our hotel, but after booking this was confirmed not the case. Instead we were giving coordinates in Palma. These coordinates were on a long road where there were many coach trips picking up and dropping off so it was just by pure luck we found our bus, which was about 100m from the pick up point.
Sebastian the host did a really good job - very impressively translating to three different languages.
The first stop was a random monastery which wasn’t that impressive. Next was an area which was had a two hour stop for lunch, but all restaurants in the area were rated no more than 1.5 stars on google - not really appealing!
Next was a un-scenic boat trip. Followed by a rushed stop off in port of soller and soller itself.
It was a very long day and our first experience of a large group tour. Needless to say we wouldn’t do it again and really didn’t think this tour really showed off the highlights of the island.

Let's start with the itinerary. You describe Lluc Monastery as a "random monastery". In reality, Lluc Monastery is the spiritual heart of Mallorca, one of the most important historical and cultural sites on the island, and a place visited by locals and tourists alike for centuries. It is located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage area. Calling it "random" says more about your personal interests than about the significance of the site.
You then criticise Sa Calobra because you did not like the restaurant reviews. With respect, how can a tour company be responsible for Google reviews of independent restaurants? Our role is to bring guests to one of the most spectacular locations in Mallorca. Sa Calobra is consistently listed among the island's top attractions and most recommended places in travel guides, blogs and visitor rankings.
You also describe the boat trip as "un-scenic", which is particularly surprising. The route passes along the spectacular coastline of the Serra de Tramuntana, with dramatic limestone cliffs, sea caves, hidden coves, historic watchtowers and the beautiful entrance into Port de Sóller. Most visitors consider this one of the highlights of the day.
What is even more curious is what your review does not mention. There is no mention of the historic tram, the famous wooden train, the town of Sóller itself or the train journey through the mountains and orange groves. Did you forget these parts completely, or did they not fit the narrative of a negative review?
Regarding the pickup arrangements, the information is very clear. Hotel pickups are available only from selected hotels and areas. For guests staying in Palma, there is one central meeting point. This is clearly stated before booking and on the voucher. The voucher also clearly explains that clients can contact us through the message system to request the bus number before departure. Had you done so, you would have known exactly which bus to look for. Instead, you chose not to use the information provided and then blamed the organisation.
We are pleased that you recognised Sebastian's excellent work. Managing a large international group while explaining the tour in multiple languages requires professionalism and dedication, and he does a fantastic job.
Finally, this is not just any excursion. It is one of the most popular and best-selling tours in Mallorca, enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year because it showcases the island's mountains, coast, villages, tram, train and boat journey in a single day.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But when a review dismisses Lluc, Sa Calobra, the Tramuntana coast, Sóller, the tram and the historic train as somehow not representing the highlights of Mallorca, it is fair to say that your opinion is very much the exception rather than the rule.

This trip was really great. Got to see the island in one day. A coach. A tram. And a wooden train! The right amount of time in each spot and the tour guide was excellent. He spoke five languages! And he waited patiently when someone in the group was late for the train. The bus ride down the switchbacks in the mountains is bananas! Thumbs up!

Regarding the languages, we normally try to operate with a maximum of three languages. However, on your specific tour there was a couple whose English level was very limited, and the guide also gave them some essential information in their language so they could understand the timings, logistics and main explanations.
We believe that if you were travelling abroad and struggling to understand the guide, you would probably also appreciate receiving at least some information in a language you could follow. 😊
The guide’s priority is always to make sure all guests can enjoy the experience and understand the important details of the day, especially on a complex tour involving bus, boat, tram and train connections.

Easy and simple to book. Marta was very knowledgeable and provided us with information throughout the journey of noticeable points. An area to note was that the tram can get very busy. With people waiting in the same area. So something to think about with kids. But it depends what time as other timings seemed less crowded. The train was great, very comfortable seats at the back. The boat trip was shorter because of the weather and it was very choppy. But gave more time for food etc. Overall was a great experience and would recommend!

You also make a very useful point regarding the tram. Depending on the time of day and season, some departures can indeed be busier than others, especially in popular areas like Port de Sóller. As you mention, this can vary a lot throughout the day.
We’re also glad you still enjoyed the boat trip despite the weather conditions. Safety at sea always comes first, and occasionally routes or durations may need small adjustments when the sea is rough.

Well organised except 2 hours where we had lunch when we got off the boat was too long and all restaurants self service. Meaning all the food pre cooked and not fresh had to wait around in the cold & rain for the coach.

Thank you for your feedback. However, we would like to clarify that the itinerary was completed exactly as planned, only in the reverse order on that specific day due to a sporting event affecting road access in the morning. This operational adjustment was necessary and allowed the tour to run smoothly despite external circumstances.
The stop where guests usually have lunch is in Sa Calobra, one of Mallorca’s most scenic but also remote locations. The restaurants there are independent businesses, and unfortunately we cannot control their menus, food style, or service.
Regarding the waiting time, weather conditions and operational schedules between boat, tram, train and coach can occasionally create some downtime, especially on rainy days. Even so, the tour itself continued according to the planned route and timings.

You will get to parts of the island you probably wouldn’t drive to, given hairpin turns and sharing narrow mountain roads with bicyclists! Our guide Joseph did a great job informing our tour group (50+ people in a nice coach) the basics of sites we were about to see…in FOUR languages! Given the multiple languages spoken in the group, there wasn’t a lot more he could say (due to time limitations). The sites were all well worth the visits and probably not that accessible without tour arrangements. Joseph was really clear about time available/deadlines at each stop and he managed the large group really well. We highly recommend this tour.

Overall this was an amazing tour being able to see different parts of Mallorca which I would not have seen had we missed this experience. The bus ride to monestary was a bit long and the tour guide had to say everything in 4 different languages which was a lot to listen to however the visits to the other towns and experiencing the boat ride and vintage train were breath taking. Would have loved a bit more time to explore Soller. I would recommend this tour overall if you are staying in Mallorca for an extended time.

Our guide was lovely, but over-extended. What was described as an "English language tour" was Spanish, German and English. That meant that there was little time for our guide to explain anything we were seeing. By the time she made announcements in 3 languages about timing and ticketing for our next stop, there was no time for her to tell us anything else. Things were also very rushed and chaotic. There is so much to see and do along this tour. If I had it to do over again, I would split it in 2, spending a leisuday in the mountains and another day in Port Stoller/Stoller.

This tour is clearly described as a multilingual tour, not an exclusive English-only tour. Mallorca welcomes visitors from all over the world, and our guides adapt to ensure everyone receives the necessary information. When possible, we do single-language tours, but this is not always feasible.
Regarding timing, the itinerary was followed exactly as advertised:
Lluc Monastery: ~45 minutes
Sa Calobra: ~90 minutes
Sóller: ~30 minutes
These times are carefully planned to fit a full day that includes bus, boat, tram and train, all running on fixed schedules. For example, if the train departs at a specific time, it cannot be delayed — this is why timing is important and explained by the guide during the tour.
This is a full-day sightseeing tour designed to show a large part of Mallorca in one day. If you prefer more time in each location, the best option is indeed to explore independently over multiple days, as you mentioned.

This experience is quite enjoyable and varied. It gives you a look at Mallorca that you would. It see in the larger cities here. Both the train ride and the tram passed through scenic mountains and landscapes. The boat ride was great . It took us to a tiny coastal village and from there a twisty and beautiful mountain bus ride back.

Absolute shambles, waited for a coach that didn’t identify itself amongst other coaches and told us nothing, until we enquired where the bus was, as we had waited in the place arranged for over an hour, absolute shambles never again.

We’re sorry to read your comment, but we must clarify the situation clearly. On that same departure, 24 other clients boarded the correct coach without any issue, using the exact same meeting point and instructions you received.
Our buses are identified as explained in the booking information, and our team is always present to assist. If all other guests managed to locate and board the coach, it strongly indicates that the problem was not with the organisation of the tour.

A Five Star Experience; Highly Recommended. This full day excursion is a feast for the eyes and the soul. Beautiful scenery, taking us through amazing mountain ranges and passes set in contrast to the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean. The tour started with a pickup at the meeting point and includes travel by road, boat, trams and train.
The mountain roads were narrow and curvy but our driver, Juan, navigated it with ease and panache. Our guide Luis, was excellent and provided helpful context that enhanced the quality of the experience.
