Great experience! Went with 2 kids, 11 and 13, nice challenges and they loved it. During the tour pictures are taken and made available for free, super! Only remark, formal part, is that I received multiple times (4) the request to fill the details of the participants prior the start of the canyoning, bit anoying! But the Canyoning experience makes it more than worthwhile..... :)

We´ve wrote you on the 23rd of June all the info about the tour and also the info we need for the tour. Since there was no answer to our message, we wrote you again 2 days before the tour on Whatsapp :) In this way, if you forgot to send it to us, you got a lot of time anyway to gather all the info. Without these info we cannot prepare the material and therefore it is very important for us that we have it. Adding to that, normally we check that the ages all fit good together so the group is a nice fit, but if we do not have info, we cannot check this :) We hope to see you next time you are at Lake Garda! :) Best regards Ichelle

Let me start from the beginning, because I want to explain why I put 1 star only. We have been on this activity already in Madeira and we have been really satisfied, that's why it's even more disappointing that this time we had terrible experience. First of all I would like to say something positive, and it's that instructor which we had was very experienced, nice and funny. And from there I will start: 1. Right on the beginning we found out that we have only 1 instructor. We were a group of 7 people and only 1 instructor, this seemed unreasonable and irresponsible already on the start, little did we knew what will happen later on. 2. I know that it was written in the instructions, to bring our own shoes, but looking at it right now, it was unpleasant experience already because of non professional shoes. Me and my boyfriend took hiking shoes, but everyone else went in their sneakers, it was so slippery that one lady felt 2 times already on the way to the waterfall. I definitely think that professional shoes are necessary for such an activity. In Madeira everyone get professional shoes from the company, and it was much much better, I didn't slip once and I felt much more secured. Here I felt unsecure just walking sometimes. 3. On the parking lot we find out that we are not going to do our own rappelling, but the instructor is going to do it for us. Considering that we sign in for this activity because it was written in the name ADVANCED, we definitely didn't expect that there will be no possibility to do our own rappelling. To be honest, in Madeira it was the most exciting part. Instructor told us that if we would write to the office upfront, that we would like to do it on our own, he could bring the tools for it, but how could I know this when it was not written anywhere? 4. Now most important part, in one thirds of the track, we were allowed to jump to the waterfall lake, however one guy got hurt (he jumped on the rock) and couldn't walk anymore. Imagine you are only in 1/3 of the track, there is only one instructor and the guy cannot walk. We though there will be some "rescue" plan for such a situations but shortly we find out, there is no other way than continue the track all the way down. So we continued, instructor was rappelling the hurt guy together with his girlfriend, then we followed them. Of course it was not even joy anymore because everybody was shaken and terrified of what else might happen. After around an hour, instructor offered us an option to stay on one of the points, wait and he will return after he deliver the hurt man down. We decided everyone to continue together with them because of 2 reasons - first of all, the guy which was hurt couldn't even step on that foot, so I cannot imagine how that one instruction and the guy girlfriend would carry him all the way down (there was almost all the way down walking, few rappelling only), so 2 other guys from the group were carrying that hurt man down (one of them was my boyfriend). Second of all, why we didn't stay there waiting for him is, that we didn't even know how long would it take. We might have been waiting there 3 or more hours, with no food, no mobile phones, with all body wet, hoping that someone will come sooner or later (which we now know it would be later). So back to the point, 2 guys from the group were carrying the hurt one down, in 2/3 of the track another instructor joined us and he was helping to carry that guy down. On the end he left to get car, so we do not need to wait, so again my boyfriend helped carry the hurt man. For better imagination, we supposed to start at 9:30 in the morning, we met at the parking lot, somebody was a little late so we left around 10, then we had to change to the suits, then walk to the waterfalls. the accident happened around 12:30 and we finished at 4pm. So this whole trip took 6 and half hours when we didn't have food or water. If we would stay waiting for the instructor as he offered us, I cannot even imagine how long we would wait because this time considers help of other men from the group, comparing to no help from them because we would stay waiting and just instructor and hurt guy girlfriend would continue. 5. I'm adding a photos to this review just to see the quality of the pictures. Do not get me wrong but those are terrible. We were looking forward to have nice photos from this experience, but non of them can be used. I know that we were all wet but the camera which instructor had was classic old-school camera which I haven't seen in a while. In Madeira the instructor took his own Iphone for photos and put it to waterproof pocket so it doesn't get wet. To summarize, after this experience I would never book any canyoning again, it was nice at the beginning but very quickly the fun and joy which I paid for ended. Really, I didn't imagine that I will pay 200$ for traumatizing experience and as an addition a workout for my boyfriend as he was helping carrying. I do not want to even imagine, that the hurt man would be our instructor, this cannot work only with one instructor really, it's too risky activity, they have responsibility for human lives, it's not fun. Therefore I would like to ask you for a refund, we didn't get the experience what we paid for, even though we did the track all the way down, from 1/3 of the track it was not the canyoning anymore but "how to get the hurt man down mission".

Hello and buongiorno Marna, please let me introduce myself to the others who read your review. My name is Thomas, I am the founder, owner and Head-Guide of SKYclimber. First of all: this was our second accident in more than 20 years of SKYclimber-history. If you read all the other reviews, you will see that we do a really good job! An accident is never nice, neither for the injured person, nor for the guide, nor for the group – but we are outdoors and it can happen! Even with the best preparation there is always a remaining risk. Let me please, again, answer your comments: 1. Our groupsize for “Vione” (level 3 of 5) is 6-8 pax per Guide. We would be allowed by local law up to 10 guests per guide! If you want a really small group size: book privat guiding: 2 guests, 1 guide – but this costs more... 2. Almost all our guests bring their own shoes – cause they fits much better. As we are in a Canyon with wet rocks – yes, it´s slippery, even with special Canyoning-shoes! 3. Active repelling (on your own) is provided by SKYclimber, but only on request, and by the way: we are the only company here at Lake Garda who offer this possibility. In your group have been several guests with no rope-experience – so it would have been more than careless to do active abseiling! 4. Yes – everywhere worldwide outdoors – if something happens, a fun tour turns into a rescue! We are outdoors and not in an urban environment where the ambulance can arrive within minutes. All our guides are certified guides and they know well what to do! Bring out the injured person (if necessary by mountain rescue team and helicopter) or on our own. As the Mountain rescue team would need hours to arrive, he decided (agreed with the injured person) to go out. And ok, the accident happend. But the guide did perfectly right. He prepared and installed the rope for those who do not feel safe to jump, than jumped down as first to show the others the right jumping position and the right landing point. Your boyfriend jumped next and did perfectly right and than came the other guy and he jumped in the wrong spot, which is for sure not our fault. Of course it is an accident, which is not nice... 5. You got water every second, as you are staying into drinkable water! And no, we do not carry food all the time. Most people can survive with 5 hours of no food 6. You already got your full refund! And, I don’t know how to say without being rude: we cannot make a lot of fun and laughter, if someone got injured! Sorry, that you do not have enjoyed your tour as much as you have planned! 7. Regarding the pictures: we use the Olympus TG 6 – one of the best waterproof outdoor cameras on the market. But it is still very difficult for a compact camera in that environment. And – the job of the Guide is guiding you, not making pictures! Please look at all the pictures on our profile – they have been made with these cameras! Your suggestion to guide smaller group sizes and always with 2 guides and have a rescue team always on standby – well – that´s just not possible!
