Rock climbing guide not following safety rules

Rock climbing instructor doesn't know anything about safety on the rocks. Drank alcohol on the crag, blasted loud music, belayed without hands and didn't do any partner checks at all. Horrible experience and a waste of my day and money.

Fun in the sun

We took a rock climbing tour which included snacks and lunch at the beach. This exceeded my expectations. Our guide João was energetic and entertaining and also provided history of the region/surrounding areas during the transit portions of the tour which was not something I had expected but found rather insightful and interesting. There were climbers of all levels in our group (even some first timers) and I believe João did a great job catering the experience so that all were adequately challenged and had a good time. I highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Lisbon looking to experience something outside of the city center.

A fantastic rock climbing tour. It had stunning views and exciting rappelling and climbing for all skill levels, even beginners. The instructor was patient and made sure I felt safe.

Scrambling through the cliffs and trees was fantastic on its own, but it was the guide who really made the experience what it was. He was super engaging and energetic the whole trip. Stunning secret views that overlook the sea, delicious food, great conversation. 100% would recommend

We absolutely loved our day with João and Miguel. They were so friendly - lots of corny jokes for the kids - and took great care of us! We have never rock climbed before but thought it would be a fun adventure for us and they were great at explaining everything and making sure we felt comfortable. We had a 10 year old and 7 year old with us. Our 10 year old was up for anything and did amazing. He led the way with João for most of the day and was willing to do just about anything. Our 7 year old was definitely a little more nervous but they talked her through everything and even climbed up alongside her and helped her climb at times when she struggled. At the end, she said she felt really proud of herself for overcoming her fears and all that she accomplished. We climbed rocks, repelled down rocks, hiked, climbed ladders and cliff walked while being tied into/holding a rope. It's definitely not for the meek but as a family who had never done anything like this before it was such a thrill and so fun! We loved the trip to the beach after as well. The water was cold and refreshing after all the hiking and physical activity. We had packed a bag with bathing suits and were able to change at the bathroom on the beach. The lunch provided was delicious and even my typical American picky eater children were able to fill their bellies. Our guides were what made the trip what it was. They knew the area, knew how to talk us through everything and were excellent hosts. It was a nice break from all the city touring, which our kids enjoy, but let's be honest, they do have a limit on how much they can handle before being bored. This is definitely a tour worth doing if want a little activity/adventure during your vacation. PS and the homemade grape juice is DIVINE. I know that sounds crazy but it really was so so so good - especially back at the headquarters with the frozen fruit in it - it was like a smoothie and delicious.
