Itinerary

Pick a departure time that works for your schedule and then receive a pickup by your guide at either the Callao Cruise Terminal or your Lima hotel. Head first to Miraflores, one of the more popular tourist areas in Lima, to visit the Love Park and enjoy views of the Pacific down below.

You’ll continue after Miraflores to Huaca Pucllana, an archaeological site where you can explore Pre-Columbian ruins that date to the 4th century AD. Head from there to Lima’s San Isidro area and Olive Grove Park before proceeding to the city’s historic center. Explore highlights include San Martin Square, the Archbishop’s Palace, the main cathedral, the Government Palace, the Desamparado train station, and Cordano Bar, one of Lima’s oldest.

Finish your Lima visit at Saint Francis Convent, where you’ll explore the subterranean catacombs and then check out an intriguing collection of religious art from across the Americas. You’ll receive a drop-off back at your hotel or cruise ship at the end of the excursion.

1 hr late for pick up from hotel. Sent a taxi to collect us, very little information given as to where we were meeting the guide. No apology from guide. Brief city tour. Guide insisted on taking our photo as to prove that we had seen the sights - we did not want our picture taken. Taxi back to hotel hands were black from touching seat. We choose this tour because of different start times to other private tour offerings but not value for money.

They arrived 50 minutes late, the tour didn’t last 3 hours and they didn’t pay the entrance fees as it was advertised. The guide was ok. Too expensive for what it gives....

Our cruise ships arrival was delayed by fog but we still managed to meet up with the tour guide who provided a great tour of Lima despite having to cut back from 4 hours to 3. The driver was able to take us directly back to the port rather than dropping us at the shuttle pick up spot. Kudos to Enrique for providing a tour that was superior to the ships offering as described by a fellow passenger

Our tour was wonderful. The tour guide was passionate about the city. He brought us to places large tour buses could not get to so we got a real flavor of the city. It was very hard finding a tour from the cruise port. It was wonderful getting to the pick up spot and having our driver there. One note the location currently used to pick up tours is not in a very good part of town so stay within the confines of the area to wait for your driver. Don't drive in Lima the drivers are crazy!!!!

We had a wonderful tour of Lima - could not have been better. Our guide spoke English, explained everything and when it was over, I can only wish that Viator was available for all my port trips. When booking my next cruise, I will definitely us Viator whenever possible. Thank you for making this the best tour on the cruise.

Good points:driver really knows the city and manoeuvred us around in very tight places skillfully guide was soft spoken, knowledgeable, patient and handled my fear of connecting with our cruise transportation late evening in darkness pick up location at the Plaza Sam Miguel by showing us 3xactly where it physically was off the Olaza area. Some cruise passengers could not find it and ended up stuck in Lima overnight.. Tour was informative, but in a scripted program way. Weak points: pick up at the Callao port tremi al was outside of the gates in a small congested freight industrial street intersection and it was bedlam with the mix of independent and individual tour vehicles from large byes to the tiny Suzuki subcompact car that eventuall6 showed up to meet us - a non English speaking driver and without the guide. We felt stranded as the pick up was obviously late. And thankfully the Tourist Police who were directing the chaotic traffic competition going on, took time out to use his phone to call the tour company local contact and tried to locate the driver, etc. Of course, the tour Company contact was not answering the man6 calls. After 15 minutes, the helpful Tourist police officer called again and reached someone who confirmed that the driver was on his way. Then, he arrived! Then we drove quite a distance - to Plaza San Miguel - where we picked up the guide who had to squeeze into the rear seat with my wife and her friend, as I, a six footer, remained in the front passenger seat. We asked that the sequence of the tour be reversed as we wanted to terminate in the Locamar Centre, and the guide and driver obliged.

An excellent alternative and less pricey than ship based tour and a lot less hassle than trying to do this on your own. Lima has a complicated transit system and horrendous traffic. We were able to get a good overview of the historical center as well as Love park and the ruins with our own personal guide and private car driver. Pick-up was at the port shuttle drop-off area.

Enrique the tour guide and Hector the driver were amazing. Very fun day. They were in time and knowledgeable. Highly recommend. We did this as tour from the ship but met at Plaza Miguel with shuttle bus from ship because the port area is hard to negotiate and getting to entrance of Port is hard.
