We had a good day, albeit a long one. We wanted to see the Nazca lines and although the experience from Lima takes almost 18 hours we opted to do it and are glad we did so. Driver Miguel was a pro and got us through heavy traffic and long distances very well. His son Ricardo joined us as translator and was very sweet. Both were real gentlemen—kind and helpful, and we appreciated them.
We where whisked into the next plane over the lines as soon as we arrived. Bring Soles to make it more expedient. Guides and pilot were helpful to get decent pictures.
We understood it would be a long drive with lots of car time so we were prepared and as I said Miguel and Ricardo could not have been kinder. We stopped en route to go up in the observation tower to see some geoglyphs that were not part of the flyover.
We were happy to have had this experience! Thank you!

This is a long Journey 14 hours in a car Total, it requires patience but the scenery is unreal and you see so many different parts of peru coastlines, slums and condos, cities and plantations, 3 different deserts and mountain views. It is a comfortable car and perfect if you
Are in lima and want to see the nazca lines without flying then this is your best option.
Hoachina Oasis is a picturesque spot but I do recommend if you want to spend more than an hour there and do activities like dune buggy or sandboarding book a separate day tour.
The nazca lines flight is special it's only 45 minutes but you see over a dozen of the incredible drawings,shapes and lines.
Miguel the Driver is a great driver and even though he doesn't speak English, google translater allowed for us to communicate have a laugh and he still teaches you and offers guidance and accommodates your needs along the way.

Drivers don’t speak English. We had requested it and our confirmation said that he would speak English, but only spoke Spanish

My driver was awesome absolutely made trip from 2 stars to 3. However we drove 7 hours to get on a 30 minute plane ride where everyone got sick except me. Then drove 4 hours to the oasis which was cool but overcrowded. Then 3 hours back. So 1 hour of experience. The rest was a car ride

We had a great driver, very reliable who took great care of us. However I ranked it as poor because it’s 6hours plus drive each way for a 30 min hard core flight made this trip a stupid way of spending time and money. One needs a very strong stomach to fly a little aircraft. We couldn’t see much because the conditions were not very good. Our driver stopped at the observation tower where we were able to actually see the markings. It’s a tourist trap! Not worth it!

Daniel my driver was a very safe driver for the horrendously long drive. The gyroglyphs were impressive. The person at the airport treated the passengers like cattle.

We only realised that we are the only two for the tour on that day, so it kind of became a private tour for a surprise. It’s a long way to drive from Lima but still pretty cool to have chance to look at the scenery. The fight over Nazca lines was very nice as well. We love the tour.

The tour guide at Nasca Lines was great. She explained the history and theory very clearly for me. The driver Miguel was amazing. Although I only speak little Spanish, he still tried very hard to communicate with me, introduce the secenary along the way and make me feel comfortable throughout the trip. Because of the delayed plane, he even drove me back to the hotel safely after a long trip from 5am to 11:30pm. He was really a great driver with a lot of hospitality. I would like to thank him for his company.

The trip is at least 6 hours from Lima. Our driver did not speak English. The driver was prompt and did his best to take care of us.
Bring Soles-Peruvian cash. You must pay taxes in cash and they don’t accept dollars. Same for food stops at small roadside stops. Lunch was a nicer restaurant that took credit cards.
The oasis was a nice walk and pictures. There really isn’t time to add sand-boarding down the dunes.
Drivers are crazy on some highways. Trucks everywhere going too slowly and it’s one lane so lots of passing cars. Hurry up…wait… fast then slow. Take Dramamine.
We were picked up at 5am and got back at 11pm. Long day and exhausted, totally worth it. The geoglyphs are incredible and created between 500BC to 500AD. still very visible and can only see from planes. Makes one wonder how and why?
Would have been easier if our driver actually spoke some English. 2 of our group speak some Spanish so we were able to get most of what we needed.
That and no mention to be sure to have the right money. The listing says you pay the tax but doesn’t warn you that it’s in Peruvian Soles only.

What can I say? The Nazca Lines are the Nazca Lines. The excursion from Lima and back was lengthy but manageable and the drivers quite good and personable. Our person in Nazca who coordinated the visit was wonderful and the flight, well it was just a remarkable life event.

BEWARE! I researched many trips in Viator to the Nasca lines and chose this one because it was a “private tour” just for our group of 4. All the other tours said it would be a 3-hour drive from Lima to the Pisco airport to board the flight to see the lines. So I assumed this tour would be the same as it did not provide any more details. My BIG MISTAKE for assuming.
Here were the problems:
1. A driver picked us up at 5 am in a small SUV. So it was a private drive for just the 4 of us. The driver was nice, but did NOT speak English. So we learned little during our drive
2. The drive was SIX hours! All the way from Lima to Nazca in the car. Lost lots of time
3. We boarded the plane with others, so this part was not so private. The flight was only 30 minutes long during which we did see the amazing lines
I would not do this again this way. Seeing the lines was great. But 6 hours there and another 6 back for 30 minutes of amazement was not how we thought we’d spend the day. Since we had to get back to Lima, we didn’t have much time for anything at Huacachina
So beware. This is a very misleading trip

This tour gave me an understanding of life beyond Lima. The flight above Nazca lines was breathtaking. I learned a lot about the history of Nasca people. The Huacachina Oasis was charming. My tour guides shared many interesting information about the places we drove through to Nasca. The food in Nasca was delicious also.

A long day if you come from Lima, round trip including the 1 hour at Nazca airport was 15 hours. The taxi driver was great. He took great care of me. In spite of the long ride the trip was worthwhile for someone who has wanted to see the Nazca lines for a long time.

This was a day tour to & from Lima. It was an incredible day, a very long day, but amazing nevertheless. Knowing what you’re in for ahead of time, you’ll be better prepared.
With construction traffic it was a 7 hour drive each way.
I didn’t realize I signed up for this option, but it was just me and my driver Miguel. Miguel was so kind & professional! He was very accommodating to anything I asked for & needed - snack & bathroom stops, etc.
Once we arrived at the Nazca airport Hilda guided me through the different booths for tax & ticket purchase, weighing in, & going through the little TSA.
You need your passport, vaccine card, & cash for tax & ticket!
The Nazca Lines were so incredible to see!! This was a huge bucketlist thing for me & it was better than I imagined! The pilots call out the designs as you approach them & as they loop around. This day is very much worth all you have to endure to see it!
Heads up though, this 45 minute plane ride is the most nauseating experience. 6/12 people in my plane threw up. I took an anti-nausea medicine about 20 minutes before boarding & I know it saved me. Do NOT eat for an hour or two before going on this. Drink lots of water as soon as you’re done.
