Our tour guide Giovani was exceptional. Pickup was right on time. The walk through Mistico Park and views of the Arenal volcano were exhilarating. The dip in the hot springs was refreshing. Breakfast and lunch were excellent. Got to see some wildlife as well - birds, bats, a snake, a tarantula, monkeys and a sloth.
Highly recommend the tour.

Juan was a fabulous tour guide with an abundance of knowledge of the rainforest, volcano, and Costa Rica in general. Overall an amazing experience and great food too!

Such a great day! While driving to Arenal Volcano, our guide Daniel, shared information about Costa Rica. We stopped for breakfast and had a wonderful traditional breakfast with an excellent view of Lake Arenal. We drove on to visit the hanging bridges. There we saw snake, bats, birds, and got to walk 3 bridges. We then went to the Hot Springs and relaxed in a beautiful setting. We then went on to have lunch right at the base of the volcano. Such a beautiful area. The tour was excellent and our guide Danial was as well!

Beautiful drive around Arenal Lake to get to the Arenal Rainforest. Great hike at the Rainforest. Relaxing at the Arenal hotsprings was nice.

Bit of a long ride to the volcano from our hotel on the coast but worth the trip. Bring rain gear and comfortable hiking shoes. Wonderful 1-2 hour hike through the volcano rainforest. Weather (rain) really cut down on what wildlife we were able to see. Hanging bridges were a lot of fun. Our guide Juan was great and Rudy our driver was really efficient on our drives. Food was great, especially breakfast which provided a great view. Hot springs were a relaxing dip after the long hike. Lunch was very good at hotel with a beautiful view. Again the rain spoiled the views.

Our guide Juan and driver Omar were excellent and attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the area, the history and ecological endeavors of the country. They shared their passion for their country and the areas we visited. They made this tour exciting and fun filled. They were quick to point out wildlife and interesting facts. Thanks to Omar for pulling over so we could get a closer view of some capuchin monkeys and some other raccoon related animals.

We all (four in our party) enjoyed the tour for what it was, but, in our opinion it wasn't as advertised and not worth the price. Juan our guide was knowledgeable and Santo our driver was friendly. (We were not offered any hydration on the bus, as they did not want to have to stop for bathroom breaks.) We started with a delicious breakfast at the Macadamia Cafe, then we drove around lake Arenal to Mistico Park for a hike through the rainforest. The hike was good, Juan pointed out a lot of interesting things. The hanging bridges were cool to see and cross. (Load limits are not followed). Lots of other hikers and groups. As for the volcano, I wouldn't say it is an up-close view of the Arenal volcano, you can see it off in the distance, weather permitting. After the hike we were to have lunch then proceed to the hot springs. We went to the hot spring first, so not too much lounging as we were all getting hungry. The 'hot spring' we went to was called Titoku. It was nice but it was not what we were expecting. It felt like a series of hot tubs; we ended up in one of the lower pools so it wasn't too hot, it was just comfortable. (Titoku will be a separate review). Then we went to lunch at a small resort, the food was great! Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the resort. We felt very rushed throughout the day and we weren't really able to enjoy the experience as we would have liked. It was a long drive to/from the resort (Riu Palace Guanacaste) for this excursion, so maybe the rushing was somewhat understandable.
I would not recommend this tour.

Everything was flawless on this tour. The only somewhat odd thing was the hot springs that were chose . I see that they changed the location though so maybe that part is better. For us it wasn’t hot springs just heated pools

Excellent excursion. Our guide was friendly and knowledge! We were picked up near Brasilito and it was a very long day! Glad we did the hanging bridge hike and tour and the hot spa. The food provided was very good. We recommend this excursion.

Our guide,Johnny, was so knowledgeable and with his amazing vision, pointed out so many animals we otherwise would have missed. Omar, our driver, navigated the roads very skillfully, and he was so kind. The rain forest was amazing, the hot springs wonderfully relaxing, the 3 hour ride each way is worth this adventure.

The driver picked us up in Potrero at 05.40. We arrived back around 6pm. It is a long day, but worth it. Our driver was very friendly and although, drove very fast, was competent and we felt safe.
Juan was a very enthusiastic knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. La fortuna was perfect for us as the paths are paved and easy to walk. The tropical rainforest is so lush and beautiful.
The Hotsprings were very relaxing. There are showers and changing rooms. No towels needed as they are provided. I wrongly thought that the Hotsprings would be in a natural environment, however, they were still beautiful and enjoyable.
The breakfast and lunch stops were great. The food at both was delicious.
Tips - bring rain coats just in case, wear closed shoes, bring a refillable ecological water bottle. (Plastic not allowed in park). If starting your journey in Guanacaste region you will be sitting in a van for many hours, it is worth bringing ear buds, headphones to listen to music or a book.

Excellent Arenal one-day tour – great food, amazing views, and outstanding guide
We booked a one-day Arenal Volcano tour through Viator and it exceeded our expectations. The tour was very well organized, perfectly paced, and not tiring at all, even traveling as a family.
The food was excellent, the views were absolutely beautiful, and every part of the day was enjoyable. A special thanks to our tour guide, Giovani, who was fantastic—very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience even better.
All three of us truly enjoyed the tour and felt comfortable the entire day. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for a full but relaxing Arenal experience.

Long day, but you get to see a lot and learn about Costa Rica. The tour guide was great, and so was the driver.
Mallory_V, Nov 2025
The experience was in beautiful Arenal. While it was too foggy to see the Volcano, the view was still lovely. The food was delicious at both places we ate. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English well. However, the roads through the mountains are extremely curvy and hilly. This is very hard for someone with motion sickness so be prepared.

This was a great excursion. Delicious breakfast with beautiful views of Lake Arenal, monkeys and other creatures on the hanging bridges walk, relaxing hot springs, and a great lunch on the slopes of the Arenal Volcano to round off the trip.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best Tour in Costa Rica!
Our Arenal Volcano, rainforest, and hot springs tour with José Jiménez and Juan was absolutely amazing! Both guides were so knowledgeable, kind, and fun — they made the entire day unforgettable.
We started with a beautiful rainforest walk surrounded by incredible views and wildlife. The timing and organization were perfect, and we never felt rushed. This included breakfast at Café Macadamia easily one of the best meals we had in Costa Rica!
The day ended relaxing in the hot springs, which was the perfect way to unwind after exploring. Everything about this tour exceeded expectations. If you’re visiting the Arenal area, don’t miss this experience!

Loved this excursion! It was a lot of time in the van since we were picked up from Tamarindo but it was completely worth it! Delicious breakfast and lunch included in the price, got to go into the Arenal hanging bridges and see the volcano from an amazing view. Our guide was so knowledgeable so we learned alot. Then ending at the hot springs was perfect. Highly recommend if you are not renting a car but want to see a lot!

They start the day with a delicious breakfast, then excitement, fun day at the rain forest, seeing the volcano, the hot springs and then a wonderful lunch/ dinner at the base of volcano!

We had Walter as our tour guide and he did not disappoint!! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area the animals and plants. He was able to show us things that we would never have seen if we wouldn't have booked. The views of the Lake for breakfast were absolutely stunning and unmatchable to anything I've ever seen. The volcano was breathtaking and the hikes of the rainforest were a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To top it all off we were able to soak in the hot springs and have a delicious lunch with again the most beautiful views I've ever seen .Definitely book this tour it is worth every penny!

Few other things. We managed to see a sloth in the wild on this trip! Our guide Walter was amazing!

Wonderful experience! We had an awesome time and would recommend to anyone visiting Costa Rica. Our guide and driver were knowledgeable. They provided us with so many insights about their wonderful country from its rich history and extraordinary ecological wonders.

The walk through Mystic Park was adventurous. The Hanging Bridges were breathe taking from the view. The Hot Springs were beautiful and relaxing. The breakfast and lunch were good. Very different cuisine from what I’m use to. Our driver and tour guide were the best. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept us laughing. It was worth the 12 hour day.
Yancy_H, Jun 2025
The driver was expert level and the guide was very knowledgeable. The breakfast was great to start the day, beans and rice were seasoned perfectly. Tour of the volcano was great, it didn't rain until after we were sitting for lunch. Dip in the hot springs after all the walking was much needed. Lunch right under the volcano was breathtaking, and the food did not disappoint.

Highly recommend this tour and guide. The personal guide through the mystico rain forest was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and can spot an animal so quickly. The breakfast was amazing at cafe macadamia. The best meal we had in Costa Rica. The view at lunch of the Arenal volcano was priceless. Overall excellent day trip with excellent tour guides. Prepare for a long day.

It is a long day but worth it. The views of Arenal Volcano and the tour through the rain forest was amazing. We saw so much and the tour guide was very informative.
Kelly_F, May 2025
The tour was very well-planned and executed. The schedule included breakfast and lunch, which served to break up the relatively long day. Speaking of long days, it was great to have someone else do the driving to the volcano area, since it was about 3.5 hours each way from the Coco Beach area. Our driver, Rudy, was pleasant and attentive on the often narrow and winding roads.
When we got to the volcano, our guide, Jose, led us on a very informative hike around the area. He pointed out many bugs and plants and animals that we would have easily missed. He was very well informed and seemed to be genuinely interested in what we were looking at and in helping us to understand the same.
Breakfast and lunch were very good and at nice locations. The stop at the hot springs was a nice change of pace in the afternoon. All in all, a very good trip. Highly recommended!
Natasha_A, May 2025
It was a great experience! Our guide Juan was very knowledgeable about Costa Rica! He had degrees in Eco Tourism and was great! It is a lot of driving if you are coming from the pacific coast so be prepared. Also, keep in mind there might be people in the van that get car sick and that wasn’t fun but overall the tour itself was great and I would recommend it! The hanging bridges were awesome!
Kelley_M, May 2025
Very educational!! Beautiful experience. Jose was an excellent guide! Thank you! The food was excellent!
