We had Haruki for our guide and he was incredible. Very knowledgeable about the areas we visited and helped navigate very well. The temples and the bamboo forest we went to were amazing and beautiful. I would recommend a tour with Haruki to anyone. As a huge bonus he was so patient and fun with our 10yo and 6yo. Huge hugs when we parted ways. Thank you for making our trip such and adventure and amazing experience!

We had an incredible experience on the Kyoto Early Morning Tour, and that was largely thanks to our amazing guide, Riana! From start to finish, she was incredibly pleasant, friendly, and super helpful. Her deep knowledge of Kyoto brought the history and culture of the sites to life in a way we wouldn’t have experienced on our own. We highly recommend this tour and would absolutely book another tour with Riana as our guide in the future!

There is a lot of walking so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Have water, Japanese yen as well as a Suica filled because you will use public transportation.

Itsuki was a fantastic tour guide. He had so much knowledge about all the sites and the travel between the sites were very smooth because of his guidance. He gave us good rest with a coffee break in the middle of the tour as well. Wasn’t too tiring. He was very nice and took our photos at all the attractions.

Really informative and interesting tour. Worth doing early to avoid the heat and crowds. Great that you have enough information to enjoy the sites but you’re not overloaded and don’t hang around for hours. Description of tour very accurate!

Haruki was fantastic. Super communicative, accommodating, and amazing with our kids.
We did a half-day tour and hit several bucket list spots. I really appreciated the extra history and context he gave at each stop, plus he recommended great photo spots and even took photos for us. He also made navigating Kyoto’s train stations effortless, which took all the stress out of the day.
Bonus: He took us to a great lunch spot across the street from Kyoto Station, north side. Don’t remember the name, but our kids loved it. Highly recommend Haruki for a smooth, fun, family-friendly tour.

Karin is an excellent tour guide! This ended up becoming a private tour by default. While we haven’t always liked private tours in the past, Karin was very comfortable to spend the day with. She was knowledgeable, kind, and gave us helpful suggestions for how to spend our time in Kyoto. We loved chatting with her and appreciated how well she navigated the city and timed our experiences. With her guidance, we avoided major crowds and even had time to venture out on our own a bit. We would highly recommend Karin!

We switched from the group tour to a private one. She was able to personalize where we went. We were able to do the bamboo forest monkey mountain, take a boat upstream between two mountains and walk around. Guide was fabulous

Rin our Tour Guide was amazing! He communicated with us the day before via text to let us know what to expect. The day of the tour he guided us throughout the train stations to get to the destinations, explained the history behind every attraction, he gave us time to take photos, took very nice photos of us and he also allowed us to take a coffee break at a very nice coffee shop. We were very pleased with the Tour! Kyoto is a very busy city and public transportation could be confusing if you don’t know the system but he made it super easy. Thank you Rin!!!

Sara was amazing! She helped me when I got lost in the subway and made sure I got to the tour without any issues. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience fun and engaging. All three locations were fantastic, and going early in the morning was definitely the right choice—it allowed us to enjoy them before the crowds arrived. My sister and I went on this walking tour and had an absolute blast. The sights were gorgeous, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was our guide, Ryan. This tour puts everything you want and need to see in one tour. Itsuki, our tour guide was the best! He was attentive and knowledgeable. One lady on the tour even needed a knee brace and he went out of his way to get one for her but still managed to keep us on track. I loved that we took the trains so we could experience the people too. His English was also amazing. Itsuki also made sure to give us coffee breaks and times to grab a bite.

Sakura, our tour guide, was amazing today. Although we are dealing with a monsoon and heavy rain, the show must go on. Sakura communicated with us during the whole process and was very organized. During the tour, she was informative and so thoughtful towards our group of 6. She was holding umbrellas over our heads, taking our pictures, and making sure that we were all always together and not lost while using the subway and bus stations. She was so personable and answered all our questions our group had. At the end of the tour, she was so kind and thoughtful and made sure everyone had the correct transportation back to their hotels. Would definitely recommend this tour with Sakura!

Sakura was our tour guide and she was great! It was a very long day and we used public transportation along the way. Such a great way to be introduced to Kyoto. We also started early enough that it was less crowded than it could have been (still crowded anyway). She pointed out many interesting facts along the way. There were 7 of us in the group so it was very manageable.

A fantastic morning and our guide Toshiya was great - lots of learning and great sights. Going early minimises crowding, but there are still lots of people so it was so good to have toshi and be able to move quickly. Totally recommended.

Toshiya was a wonderful guide. This tour is a great way to see three major sites efficiently. He managed the transportation perfectly and he knows so much about the history and cultural traditions. Definitely worth it to do this EARLY, like 6:45am departure. The crowds and the heat are difficult if you go later. We did the bamboo forest last which was great as we were able to stay there after the end of the tour and explore.

This was a wonderful tour that I definitely recommend! Our tour guide, Reiya, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He sent us very clear instructions so we were prepared on the day of the tour. We had a small group which made the tour more intimate and special. We saw a lot of incredible sights in Kyoto and learned and a lot about their history and significance. Reiya followed up after the tour to ensure we had a good time and offered his help with any other Kyoto questions.
If you are looking to see what makes Kyoto so special, this tour is the way to go!
