This was a traditional tea ceremony. My family and I enjoyed learning about an authentic ritual. This was a great experience and I encourage people looking for a yea ceremony to pick this one. The staff is very professional and friendly.
This is a fabulous experience. We were warmly greeted and quickly showed where to pick out our kimonos. Staff assisted in fully dressing us, including purse, hair and shoes. Then the tea ceremony - so professional, educational, and traditional. Our tea master also took photos for us and taught us how to make the tea after he ceremony. So friendly and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone! A wonderful cultural experience filled with traditional instruction.
We had beatiful tea ceremony with great team that dressed us with traditional kimono cloth. Don't miss this attraction while viditing in Kyoto. This was excellent, and we also had the time to make a walking outside the shop with the kimono's.
This kimono rental and tea ceremony was the highlight of our travels in Japan. The kimono selection is beautiful and high quality. The hair and kimono dressing was perfection. The tea ceremony was incredibly educational and emotional. We can all learn from the tea Japanese tradition, being in harmony with yourself, others and nature in the best gift. I highly recommend this experience.
If you want an authentic Japanese tea ceremony experience this is it! I was so hesitant because I had seen so many experiences and was not sure which to select. THIS was such a beautiful experience and afternoon! We were a party of 6 but the room only holds 4, so plan accordingly if in groups. We had a wonderful time as a party of 6!! The hair gals are fast and fantastic.

This was truly one of the most beautiful and meaningful experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve never experienced anything like this before—it genuinely touched my heart.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, intentional, and welcoming. The gentleman guiding us through the experience was exceptional. His presence alone brought a sense of peace, and the way he explained the tea ceremony made it so much more than just an activity. He shared that it’s not simply about tea, but about mindfulness, balance, and connecting your mind, body, and soul—and you could truly feel that throughout the entire experience.
The experience was thoughtfully arranged across three spaces. First, the kimono dressing was incredible—the team took so much time and care with every detail, from the outfit to the hair and accessories. They made us feel comfortable, beautiful, and completely immersed.
Then we moved to the tea space, where everything was explained so clearly and gracefully. We began with tea and sweets, and then were guided through the ceremony step by step. It was peaceful, grounding, and deeply moving.
What stood out most was the warmth and hospitality. Every person we met was kind, patient, and genuinely welcoming. This experience didn’t just teach me about Japanese culture—it left a lasting impact on me personally.
I’m taking a piece of this calmness and beauty back home with me to the United States. Thank you for such a memorable and life-touching experience.

This is definitely one of the highlights of our trip , wonderful host and very beautiful kimono , thank you for this adventure
2m 2f we all dressed in traditional robes and learned about traditional and custom of tea ceremony with meaning behind it. The women had their hair done in traditional styles. Yuka was a fabulous hostess and spoke great English. We also learned how to make traditional matcha tea in ceremonial fashion. Very enjoyable and would recommend.
Well worth it. Get to wear a kimono and wander around to take in the temple and local sights and get some great photos. Tea ceremony was on another level. You will not drink coffee the same again.
This was a very well paced demonstration of a traditional tea ceremony. We especially enjoyed wearing the kimonos and taking time to be pampered before going into the tra ceremony.
The lady who talked us through the tea ceremony was very authentic and got the right balance between educating us, showing us, and just allowing us to ask questions.
We would certainly recommend this to any family group, perhaps with children over the age of eight, it would be especially good for grandparents with their grandchildren as we found that was a great experience for us.
Okada took the time to explain not only the history but some of her family connections to the tea ceremony and how important it was to help the family connect to one another by participating as part of their everyday life.
One tip she did share was to avoid sitting on the right!!!!
This was one of my favorite activities in Kyoto! They dressed you up in a traditional kimono, with every single component and step to it. And then we talked about the history of tea and tea ceremony, understanding the meaning behind their traditions and culture. I learned so much about Japanese traditional ways of doing things and had some hand picked matcha tea as well. Cannot recommend this activity enough. Must have!
I don't even know where to begin, it was an incredible experience. It was one of the few tea houses that would accept us with my 3-year-old son. The lady was very kind, patience , and attentive. She explained their culture to us in detail and taught us how to make matcha. Before that, we rented kimonos and walked to nearby Temple , taking lots of photos. I definitely recommend it. We were very, very pleased.
