Hero is an awesome guide! I was full of curiosity, and he had answers to every question. He had insider knowledge not just about the beautiful sights of Kyoto, but about local customs. He is a genuinely warm person who makes the tour feel like you're seeing a friend's hometown. I will definitely book another tour with him in our future Japan travels.

Had a wonderful time. Enjoyed getting to know about Gion district and surrounding area. Hero took some family photos for us - which was really nice. The kids enjoyed it as well. I am glad we did the tour.

Hiro gave our family a tour of the Gion area in Kyoto. He was awesome!! He was so easy to talk to, friendly, and informative! He showed us so much of this area that we were unfamiliar with and helped us to notice and appreciate the details around the area and also how to appropriately approach a shrine. It was a wonderful tour and he is a top notch tour guide! Very personable and customized the tour. Highly recommend!!!

My family and I are so happy that we booked this tour. Hero was so knowledgeable and informative on this tour. We learned so much on this tour! He took us to some amazing places that we never would have found on our own. The big “reveal” was spectacular! And he took some of the best photos of us that we have from our trip. Our tour guide Hero is well organized and send reminder and meeting place as soon as I booked the tour. The night tour is amazing! Beautiful streets reflected with lights. Hero guided us to walk the most beautiful streets in Kyoto. Hero took pictures for us and spent time to organize and sent us these photos after the tour. I really appreciate that Hero has done his best as to welcome us to Kyoto.

Hiro is an excellent human, as well as tour guide and photographer. Hiro is a fantastic guide. And Gion district is much nicer at night. We walked quietly down narrow alleyways. It was so atmospheric. We got to see a Starbucks store that was hard to find. Hiro took gorgeous night photos and sent them to us promptly. It was fun having someone else take photos of our trip. Hiro has excellent English skills and if we go back we would book him for another tour!

We did this tour our first evening in Kyoto and it was a wonderful way to get a feel for the Gion district. Hero was a wonderful guide - he had lots of knowledge to share and he took some lovely photos of us, and he even provided some restaurant recommendations for after the tour ended. This is definitely a great way to get a feel for Gion and to get slightly off the beaten track.

Omg this tour was awesome. Hero, the tour guide was great very knowledgeable about the area and also making sure we connect with the culture. He even recommended some great food and place with Japanese culture. Loved it. Definitely will recommend it and I would do it again. Hiro gave us an excellent walking tour through the Gion district. He shared lots of interesting facts and gave us great insight into the history of the area. We saw several beautiful sites that we would have had a challenging time finding on our own and he was kind enough to take photos of us at great locations. I would 100% recommend booking this walking tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip!

Do not book this walking tour of Gion. Our “guide” showed up 15 minutes late this appeared to be his first time in Kyoto. He used Apple Maps to silently walk us to 3 landmarks in Gion and when we would ask questions like “what is this pagoda called” he would say he didn’t know. This was the most disappointing tour I have ever participated in.

Great walking tour to see some highlights of Kyoto with no crowds. Hiro took lots of photos and gave us great insider info. He also gave us an amazing ramen recommendation and we enjoyed getting to know him!

Hiro is a fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable and great company.
He also gave us good recommendations for dinner during our stay in Kyoto and even walked us to a place of choice after the tour so we could find our way.
Highly recommend this tour in Gion.

We did a private night walk of Gion and the surrounding neighborhoods with Hiro. He was a fabulous. Hiro showed us a wide variety of beautiful interesting sights, temples, shrines and neighborhoods, all the while sprinkling in fun facts and historical information. He took pictures of us throughout the night. He was so lovely and attentive. My husband asked about beer vending machines on the street. Hiro found one and then helped him make the purchase. He even walked us to a fantastic Ramen place at the end. He went above and beyond by helping us get special restaurant reservations. Hiro is a gem and you would be very lucky to do a tour with him. Very reasonably priced for the experience and his English is excellent as well.

Would highly recommend this tour. Having just arrived in Kyoto this was a very nice introduction to the city and to the Gion District. Our guide Hiro showed us the highlights of the area. He also recommended Pound Kyoto Ekimae for a Kobe beef dinner, which was excellent.

I spontaneously booked Hiro’s tour as I was solo traveling through Kyoto.
I thought Hiro had very interesting perspectives and I learned very much! I found the tour easy to follow and there were little bits of humorous facts that kept the tour entertaining. He is very easy to talk to and happy to answer any questions.
Hiro is also a great photographer. :) There were many great moments captured that I’ll remember more vividly.
I highly recommend booking Hiro’s tour in Kyoto!

We had a wonderful evening walking tour with Hiro! He was so knowledgeable and took us to places we never would have found on our own. He took great photos of our family along the way, which was such a treat! At the end of the tour he worked hard to find us a delicious Japanese barbecue restaurant for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. Highly recommend this tour and Hiro!

The tour was extremely informative and stopped at critical locations in Kyotos historic area. Learned lots of details about the history and foods of the area I would not have otherwise known. Highly recommend this tour as it’s great value for anyone looking to learn more about the city.
