    • This tour is not recommended for young children: The Wildlife Tour is typically geared more towards adults, providing educational commentary along the way. While wildlife sightings are frequent, the experience differs significantly from a zoo visit. Due to the unpredictable nature of wild animals, sightings occur intermittently during the 3-hour tour and vary from day to day. Based on our observations, young children often become restless as there are no scheduled stops on this vehicle-based tour. Therefore, we recommend a minimum age of 5 years. Although not recommended, children and infants under 5 years old are welcome, provided a seat is purchased for them at the child rate (all passengers regardless of age are required to be allocated a seat on the bus). For those bringing infants, we recommend bringing a baby carrier which can be secured with the provided seat belts on our buses.
    • Jasper National Park is a wild and natural habitat. Wildlife Sightings are frequent but not guaranteed.
    • No Pets – Service Dogs with Valid Paperwork Only
    • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 22 travelers

    Excellent tour. Highly...

Excellent tour. Highly informative. Never rushed. In fact we followed a grizzly bear for quite a while. Fascinating. Liked history of all the fires besides the talk about the shedding of antlers and horns and especially all the animals we saw.

Thank you for the great review Judith, we're stoked to hear how much of the tour you enjoyed!

1 Grizzly bear spotted made the trip

    Elaine_D, Jun 2024
We were very lucky to see a Grizzly Bear cross the road in front of our vehicle. The guide told us that as she was driving we had to look out for the animals. We were taken for the first half of the tour on major roads and saw only sheep and a couple of elk.If it wasn’t for seeing the Grizzly Bear the trip would have been a huge disappointment. If you have your own car you are just as likely to see animals as you will on this trip ,except for the background information given about the animals.

    Response from Host, Jul 2024

It sounds like spotting the Grizzly Bear was a memorable highlight of your tour! While the guide's insights added value, the initial part on major roads with limited wildlife sightings was disappointing. Your perspective about wildlife viewing compared to having your own vehicle is insightful and could be useful for others considering the tour. Thank you for sharing your experience. Regards, Maligne Adventures

    Must do Tour in Jasper!!

    Rebekah_O, Jun 2024
This was an incredible tour! We were very lucky and spotted almost everything on the list - we saw a grizzly, a black bear, bighorn sheep, Osprey, bald eagles at their nest with their eaglets and flying about, a big bull elk, a mother and baby coyotes at their den. The trip couldn't have been better and our guide Jamie was fantastic at ensuring we got the most out of the trip and was very knowledgeable.

    Response from Host, Jun 2024

I canceled it 2 days prior because I double booked tour at same time so it didn’t go through and I was charged for it anyway!

Not the wildlife tour we expected

    Robin_Z, Sep 2023
Very touristic. Not worth the money. The guide was motivated but the tour simply started too late for a morning wildlife tour.

    Response from Host, Sep 2023

We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent tour experience with us. We're sorry to hear that you found the tour to be overly touristy and not meeting your expectations in terms of value. Your comment regarding the start time is valuable, and we'll take it into account as we plan future tours to better meet the needs of our guests. We appreciate your acknowledgment for our motivated guide as all of our guides do try their best to find as much wildlife for our guests to view, because of the unpredictability of wildlife it can be challenging at times. We hope you enjoyed your time in Jasper National Park.

    Family fun

    Mohsen_M, Aug 2023
Amazing experience for the whole family. Our young children (5 and 8) weren’t always entertained by the driving from spot to spot, but loved seeing all the animals. Massive Elk, Bears, bald eagles, osprey, white tailed deer with fauns were all seen. Most of the routes we had driven already heading to hikes, but our guide Chloe was amazing to point out animals like the eagles and bear which we would have otherwise missed. She knew where to wait at all the right spots! Didn’t get time to see Moose, as we spent a bit too much time taking pics of the bears and the massive male elk, but still totally worth it! Also a great idea if you have an overcast/rainy day and need an activity which is what we did!

    Response from Host, Aug 2023

We're absolutely thrilled to hear about your amazing family experience on our tour! Thank you for sharing your feedback and allowing us to be a part of your memorable day. It's wonderful to know that your young children enjoyed the wildlife sightings, even though the driving parts might not have always held their attention. Seeing massive elk, bears, bald eagles, osprey, white-tailed deer with fawns, and more must have been an incredible experience for them. We're glad that the diverse range of animals kept everyone engaged and excited. Chloe, your guide, sounds like she made a significant impact on your tour. Her knowledge and expertise in pointing out animals and key spots enhanced your experience, even on routes you had previously driven. We're proud to have guides like Chloe who go above and beyond to ensure our guests have a comprehensive and engaging experience. While the weather might not always cooperate, we're pleased to know that our tour provided a great activity for your family on an overcast or rainy day. Your enthusiasm and satisfaction mean the world to us, and we're grateful for your recommendation. Thank you once again for choosing us for your family adventure. If your journeys bring you back to this area, we'd be honored to welcome you and your family for more memorable wildlife encounters and explorations.

    Great experience

    Lieke_M, Aug 2023
Great tour. Didn't see any bears, but our tour guide Sam was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! We did see some gorgeous Elk males, an Osprey and a Bald Eagle. Sam taught us so much about the wildlife and environment of Jasper. Truly a great experience. We drove part of the rout the next day, and see, Sam? We caught this hoary marmot eating! They do do it, just not when you are watching ;)

    Response from Host, Aug 2023

Thank you for Joining Maligne Adventures for the Morning Wildlife Search. It's wonderful to know that Sam, your tour guide, made the experience enjoyable with his knowledge, friendliness, and helpfulness. The sightings of gorgeous Elk males, an Osprey, and a Bald Eagle certainly added to the excitement of the tour. Sam's ability to educate you about the wildlife and environment of Jasper highlights the quality of our guides and their dedication to providing informative and enriching experiences for our guests. Your playful observation about the hoary marmot eating when not being observed is a charming reminder of the natural behaviors of the wildlife. We appreciate your keen observations and your lighthearted approach. Thank you for choosing our tour

    Enjoyable tour

    RobynKain, Aug 2023
Seeing a “king” elk with a massive head rack was awesome. Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable about the area wildlife. Wish the tour started earlier. By the time all the pickups were made it was a bit late for an advertised 8:30 am tour start. Finished after 12 noon.

    Response from Host, Aug 2023

We're thrilled to hear that you had an awesome encounter with a "king" elk and appreciated your guide Sam's knowledge about the area's wildlife. Observing a majestic elk with an impressive head rack must have been a truly remarkable sight. We're glad that Sam's expertise added to your enjoyment of the tour. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the later-than-expected start time. We understand the importance of having ample time for wildlife viewing during the tour, and your feedback about the timing is valuable for us to improve our tour scheduling. Thank you for choosing our tour, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for another memorable wildlife adventure in the future.

    Wonderful!! Great for animal enthusiasts!

    Madison_T, Jun 2023
An INCREDIBLE day!! Our tour guide, Ross, was wonderful and very knowledgeable. We saw at least six bears (including a grizzly!), many elk, a bald eagle, some deer, and a pack of bighorn sheep. Truly a must-do for anyone interested in the wildlife in the area. Felt very safe the whole time - the vehicle is an air-conditioned/ heated closed bus - and Ross is kind enough to incorporate times to be outside of the vehicle, other educational material such as paw prints & horns, and a bathroom break. We went on a sunny day in early June and it was all around a 10/10 experience.

    Response from Host, Jun 2023

Hello, Thank you for joining Maligne adventures for the 3 hour vehicle based morning Wildlife Search. Thank you for taking the time to leave us an awesome review. Ross is an absolutely outstanding guide, you can tell that he loves his job. It sounds like you had a great experience on the tour. June is a great time of the season for bears and all the animals to be out and about finding food! Have a great rest of your trip in the Canadian Rockies and we hope to see you guys in the bus again soon.

    Many wildlife sightings. Great tour.

    Joanna_F, Jun 2023
This was a fantastic tour. Jamie, our guide, was excellent. He was so knowledgeable and so patient in waiting for the wildlife to come closer. He would often anticipate the animal's movement and move the van into a position where the animal would appear again. He was very careful about obeying regulations for the safety of our party and the animals and warning other observers who were not being so careful. I would highly recommend this tour and hope anyone who goes has as wonderful an experience as I did.

    Response from Host, Jun 2023

Thank you for joining Maligne Adventures for the 3 hour vehicle based Wildlife Search. Jamie loves to find bears more than our guests like to find bears! One thing our guides are pretty good at is animal tracking, they are very patient and they enjoy trying to get you guys that picture perfect view it sounds like Jamie did a great job in that aspect. Thank you for the very kind words and talking about your 5 star experience with us. We hope to see you on the road sometime soon!

    Awesome Wildlife Tour

    Sheila_J, Aug 2022
Great tour. Our guide, Jake, was very knowledgeable. He knew just where to look for wildlife and did a good job educating us regarding the wildlife we saw. Would definitely recommend this tour.

    Response from Host, Aug 2022

Hello Sheila Thank you for taking the time to review your recent Wildlife Search with Maligne Adventures. Its great to hear that Jake was able to locate a variety of wildlife for you to observe and photograph. Sound like he did a good job of interpreting their ways and habits for you as well. Regards

Guide very experienced. Scenery beautiful. Saw marmots, elk, and eagle. Good trip. Eagle was awesome

    Response from Host, Aug 2022

Good Morning, Thank you for joining Maligne Adventures for the Wildlife Search, it seems like you really enjoyed the tour and that the guide was very good at his job. The wildlife must have been out playing really well for the evening show!

A wildlife tour that exceeded expectations!

    DouglasJ_K, Jul 2022
We viewed a mother bear with 3 cubs, which occurs maybe once in a decade with a bear. We viewed twin baby bald eagles in their next. We also saw deer, an osprey near its nest, and a marmot sunning on a rock. Our tour director knew where to take us and to arrange for the best photo ops.

    Great tour, recommend

    meganlucywilliams, Jun 2022
This was a great tour, our guide was very knowledgeable, extended the trip as we saw a moose on the way back and happily told us some great stories. We didn't see all the animals we would like to but it is also down to chance and whether they happen to be roadside. We went back on the route ourselves another day and did happen to see the bears - it's partly down to luck and the tour was great to show us where to look!

    Response from Host, Jun 2022

Hello, Thank you for joining Maligne Adventures for all your Wildlife needs! We really appreciate the great compliment and that you took the time to write a review.
