Your hands-on Turkish mosaic lamp-making workshop begins at a time that works best for you: Choose from several convenient start times and either head directly to the studio or request pickup.
With a maximum of only nine other attendees for company, you’re ensured plenty of guidance and support. After enjoying coffee and snacks, listen to an introduction about the history of colorful Turkish mosaic lamps—and learn the fundamentals of the craft.
Then, it’s time to create your own custom design. Choose from dozens of colors of mosaic glass tiles and beads, sketch your own geometric pattern, and start applying the mosaic.
At the end of class, you’ll walk away with your very own lamp, complete with everything that you need—an LED light bulb, bag, protective packaging, and a US adaptor—so you can safely bring it home with you.

We had such a fantastic time at this workshop! Serhat was a wonderful instructor-patient, knowledgeable, and full of great advice. There were heaps of colours to choose from, and we could either pick from existing designs or create our own custom ones. Serhat guided us on which colours would look best for the background, and his suggestions made a huge difference. The whole process was fun and creative, and in the end, all of our lamps turned out absolutely beautiful. To top it off, Serhat carefully wrapped each lamp in bubble wrap so we could take them home safely. It was a truly enjoyable experience, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable activity in Istanbul.
Such a fantastic experience! The lamp decorating workshop in Istanbul was so enjoyable, creative and engaging from start to finish. The staff were absolutely wonderful — friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful, making the whole experience feel relaxed and fun. Such a unique experience and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Istanbul. Highly recommend!
Loved this experience. The highlight of our family holiday so far. I attended with my 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son, and we loved every minute. The hosts are very welcoming, friendly and gave us a top line history of lamp decorating which is very fascinating. The workshop itself is so well run. Great guidance and so much fun. A must do experience if visiting Istanbul.
It was a wonderful experience to have done on our first afternoon in Istanbul. Staff we very helpful and we have something to put in our home that we can say we made in Turkey.
Great communication the day before on how to find them (not easy to find), however with the information all achieved. The class was relaxing and most enjoyable. Enjoyed the experience so much booked another class (Turkish Delight making) with them, also excellent.
Fun experience! I wouldn’t necessarily call it a class since people came and went whenever they wanted and no real teaching was done, but the person helping us went through a quick demonstration with each task. One tea was given, no snacks.
Lamps are nice, but do not work at all in the US with the adapters they provided. I bought two kits and none of the three lamps work at all.
Great way to take home memories and a souvenir. Kind, polite and helpful staff. Easy location to access. Operator sent video instructions to get there.
It was really fun and well organized. Our host was great! Although we were not given any Turkish delights :(
Booked this experience with my nine year old daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ladies running the workshop were really helpful and made us feel real welcome.
A relaxing afternoon. The young workshop host was very helpful in explaining everything and recommending colours for the small beads at the end but also just left us to create without feeling like we were under pressure. A fun experience and something special to take home from Istanbul.
Make sure they give you the US charger if you’re from the US. The lighting was rushed for us, and we ended up with lamps that don’t light overseas. The activity goes by faster if you have colors or designs in mind. The afternoon class had less colors available than earlier sessions.
This is our 3rd workshop we visited with this vendor and we enjoyed it yet again. The mosaic lamp workshop is must do in Istanbul. Very fun way to create your own souvenir.
Lovely, relaxing and authentic experience. Ezra gave us clear instructions and we had loads of fun. Such a lovely keepsake to take home too. We were also provided with very clear instructions on how to find the art studio, which is very important in a city as confusing as Istanbul.
Had the best time working on my lamp, talked to some other travelers who were also working on their lamp. She gave a quick introduction and it was time to start! Have an idea of colors or designs you want, but there is also a tutorial sheet on different star shapes. I was in a rush to leave cause I had another engagement, but i forgot to ask for the USA plug adapter and she didn't ask, so by default you get a Euro plug. Remember to ask if you need it!
Great experience, we all loved it and were fortunate to be with other people who were lovely. Would have been nice to have had more interaction with the provider of the workshop.
I am so happy with my turkish lamp shade. Even though the she wasn't fluent in english, she tried her best to teach me well.
It’s a fantastic way to incorporate a local craft in a hands on way. So glad we did this rather than buy one in a souvenir shop.
Minimal instruction. The class seemed chaotic - the instructor kept changing and there was no one in the room with us at times. We didn’t receive coffee or Turkish delights. The lamps turned out ok, but I’m not confident the packaging they provided (a layer of bubble wrap) will be sufficient for the flight home. Make sure you have clothes to pad your lamps for travel!
Super fun experience! The workshop sent me a WhatsApp message with exact instructions on how to reach the building and a video - super helpful! They let us stay as long as we needed to finish our lamps, turned them on to show us, gave us US adapters, and wrapped them in bubble wrap! It was a great, relaxing activity. I definitely recommend.
Authentic mosaic lamp workshop! Patient and friendly staff, lots of choices for your designs. It was fun and easy, great gift to take home.
I‘ve booked this workshop for my partners birthday, we had such a lovely time creating the lamps. We recieved a complementary tea which was really tasty and were able to make lovely memories together. Would highly recommend this workshop for anyone visiting Istanbul :)
This is a perfect workshop for friends and family. You get to create a truly beautiful lamp from so many pieces of glass. And we're very happy with the result.
Really fun activity! It was a little hard to find but they were super attentive and came to get me downstairs - wonderful service! I would go back in a heart beat!
Was such a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Lina was a fantastic host for the workshop- helpful and friendly. I enjoyed making my lamp and also went a few hours later for the Turkish delight workshop. You get to keep your lamp and everything is provided. There’s no rush and tea and sweets were offered. I can’t recommend enough
It is non stressful. Our guide was excellent, she helped us and especially the children in the class. Everyone can do this!
The workshops are tucked away and very difficult to find. Lamp making is fun but no instructions or guidance is given, just a 30 second brief.
Fun activity and great for solo travelers. Took about an hour. You get to keep your lamp and they have adapters for different parts of the world…………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Great experience! Esra was very kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this experience in Istanbul.
What a brilliant activity. Esra & Lina were so kind and helpful with suggestions and ideas. The perfect memento and souvenir. My husband loved it as much as I did. Great value, would highly recommend to all ages.
