Operator cancelled day of tour hours before tour

I booked the tour, but on the day of the event, the tour operator said there was no more space. They offered a private tour instead, which would have been much more expensive. Given that they cancelled the day of (only hours before the tour), it was too late to book another tour, so I lost a day of activities during my stay.
