So many tourist cruise boats at Halong Bay!

Our tour guide Nâm and the bus driver were outstanding and made this the best possible experience for the group! They communicated well and very clearly prior to and at every step of the tour. Their professionalism was impressive. Unfortunately, as outstandingly beautiful as Halong Bay is, the masses of tourists took away from the experience (not the fault of our guides, of course). Halong Bay has fallend prey to its own success - and the area is being developed rapidly with new resorts under construction.

The site was beautiful but littered and overcrowded. Dong, our guide could have improved the experience by giving good recommendations for where to go to meet the crowds but he spoke a lot and said nothing that mattered and even made recommendations for things that were the most uncomfortable and crowded. The kayaking was an enjoyable way to get away from being herded for a while.
