Had a great experience on the incense village tour! The pickup was right on time and everything was well organized from start to finish. Our tour guides, Huy and Henry, were excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip enjoyable with their explanations and support.
The time spent at the village was perfect, not rushed at all, and we got to see the traditional process up close and take some beautiful photos. The overall quality of the tour, transportation, and coordination was really good.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting a cultural experience with professional guides and smooth arrangements!

Loved this whole tour with our guide Alex being so kind and generous and very informative information on the incense industry. Great tour especially during the rain too, great tour . Thank you
Had fun knowing the culture, the villagers were very hospitable and kind! Our tour guides Henry and Alex were very welcoming and explained everything to us very well!
Alex did a good job guiding us through the incense and hat villages, as well as teaching us about Vietnamese history and Buddism he is very nice and accomodating, good job!
My wife was looking for something to do near hanoi and found this incense village and conical hat half day tour. Very recommend this tour as it is unique to the culture and get to see unique parts of hanoi that we don’t get to see in the city. Pick up was quick and comfortable and would recommend the private tour for ease and convenience. Also, Jason and Grace were great guides allowing us to experience the parts of the tour at our own pace.
Very informative and friendly. I had a great time and I made some friends traveling solo. We also got a free hat to keep
It was wonderful! Our guide Alex was the nicest person ever. We really enjoyed every step of the trip :) highly recommend!
Very nice. Started with home cooked Vietnamese lunch and then painted our own hats to keep. Learned about how they make the hats and then went to the incense village factory to watch and try as well. Enjoyed very much
Very chilled and nice experience, Henry was very helpful and friendly .. would recommend 100% .. lovely villages
Enjoyable day out seeing the incense village, learning about the process to create incense, and making hats. Thanks!
A fantastic tour. Henry was an amazing guide. Friendy and took great care explaining the processes in making the incenses and hats. A great tour which i would highly recommend. 10/10
Excellent tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and everything was well organised. I love learning about the process to create incense and the hot making experience is very nice. Safe for a solo traveler
Great experience with good food and a great guide! Very knowledgeable guide who showed us the inner workings behind making hats and incense sticks. Great at taking photos as well.
I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this tour. Everything was well organised, and the guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day enjoyable. I learned a lot, had a great time, and would happily do it again.
Good experience going to see how incense is made and being able to take great photos .the hat making is also very informative.
If you are staying in the Old Quarter the drive to the village takes over an hour. Once you get there you are met by a guide. The guide was nice but he walked too quickly (it was extremely hot and we were tired from the drive). He took us through to factories where the bamboo is cut, it’s very dusty (fine dust) and the people are working in poor conditions. Once you move through the factories you are taken to the incense factory, you get to make incense. The incense photo place is small, you take a few photos then you get driven to the hat making place which is a home of a family. This is were you get lunch if you have that package, which we didn’t. We had Henry on the way to the hat place and he was nice. We painted some hats then sat through a traditional hat making explanation then we were driven back to our hotel. It was interesting and a way to learn about how some people live and work.
This experience was so fun! Not only do you get to see the intricate process behind creating incense and hat making, but you get to meet the amazing village people who are masters in the arts. I can’t recommend this tour enough. The guide is knowledgeable and makes the tour fun and engaging. Must do experience when visiting Hanoi!
Very good English speaking tour guide. The tour is worth it. Recommended for all who would like to learn about incense making and conical hats. It’s informative.
Really good and worth it! A lot of fun. I recommend getting the lunch as well, good homemade food that they make for you with lots of variety.
Huy was one of the most fun guides I had in Vietnam. He was a funny presence and it was a pretty fun experience all around. I definitely recommend it to meet all the local people in the villages.
Brilliant half day tour with lots of interesting and insightful information and demonstrations. Huy was a great tour guide.
The lunch was also delicious!
Enjoyable day out seeing a lacquer workshop, the incense village, and making hats. All logistics went smoothly. Thanks!
My mom and I had an amazing experience booking with this tour. Starting with a tour of the incense garden and factories and ending with hat making and painting. Our tour guide, Huy, was very lovely and very responsive to us. He spoke very good English and French, and was easy to understand/communicate. We booked a private tour with him, and it was very convenient and worth the extra money.
Very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Good for solo traveller and the lunch option was very good!
I booked this experience last minute and I’m really glad I did. My 10-year old daughter and I had a great time. We started with learning how to make the hats, painting them, then lunch before heading to the incense village. The tour was really well organized, our guide was kind and informative. The gentleman who took our photos at the incense village was amazing. We have so many great photos for our memories. Definitely recommend booking this tour.
Picked up at hotel, Henry was a fun guide. It was an interesting and educational experience and got us out of Hanoi for a bit. I would definitely recommend.
It was a very beautiful and engaging experience. I loved every bit of it. From learning about incense making from scratch to learning about how the famous Vietnamese hats are made. Had a practical feel of things. Happy people. Great tour guide.
Wonderful experience for a half day tour! Highly recommend!! I developed greater appreciation for handicraft work.
Very informative and relaxed trip in learning about pieces of Vietnam. It was fun to do the activities as well like painting, learning how to make the hat and incense sticks. Henry was an amazing guide and a great photographer!!
