The tour is as advertised! We got to see all the sights , with a very knowledgeable and informative guide. It was a lot of fun to see the county side with history along the way. Our guide even asked if we wanted to stop for some local food. We opted for some ice cream that was delicious! Our guide made sure we were back to our cruise with plenty of time to spare for shopping! Highly recommend.

I know I booked the same day, but having them cancel so last minute was not good. Fortunately the hotel has their own tour service.

If dialect is a concern, ask about nationality of guide. Would have been an okay tour if one understood guide better. There was a couple from the Southern USOn the tour; the guide commented to the Southerner that he was having difficulty understanding the Southerner’s dialect. Our guide was from India.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Karen. We’re sorry your experience didn’t meet expectations. Our guides are fluent English speakers and trained to share engaging stories, but we understand that dialect differences can occasionally cause challenges. At HFX Limo & Tours, we proudly promote diversity within our team and believe it enriches our guests’ experiences. Your feedback will help us continue improving communication for all travelers.

I think you should cut the "City Tour" out of the title of the tour. Yes, keep it in the itinerary, but from what we got, the title was misleading. However, Peggy's Cove MORE than made up for it. We were given ample time to explore the geologic formation of the rocks and shop for "trinkets" when we were done. The site is amazing.

Thank you, Barbara, for sharing your feedback! We appreciate your honest input about the tour title — clarity is very important to us, and your comment helps us ensure future guests have the right expectations. We’re happy to hear that Peggy’s Cove exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed exploring its stunning landscape and unique local shops. Your insight is valuable, and we’re glad the experience overall was a memorable one!

We were a little underwhelmed at what Halifax had to offer after visiting several other small town ports on our New England cruise. The almost one hour (each way) drive to Peggy's Cove and back just to see a lighthouse, cafe and gift shop on a cold, windy day was really not worth it. There was a quaint town which one could walk around in but not in the weather we experienced (and we drove through the town in mid-morning and many shops were closed at that time). I'm sure on a warm sunny day with less wind, it's a nice place to spend an hour or two. Fortunately, because we had booked a private tour, we were not stranded there for 2 hours like those on bus tours!
Our City tour consisted primarily of a drive-by of the Citadel with a quick stop for picture taking from the viewpoint and a short stop to visit the Titanic passenger's graves in the cemetery.
Our driver was very friendly and accommodating but had only lived in Halifax for 5 years so had good basic knowledge but still somewhat limited as a guide. He also had an accent which made it hard to understand some of what he said. The car was very clean and he was an excellent and safe driver.
In summary, if visiting Peggy's Cove is on your bucket list, definitely consider the weather and book a private driver unless you're sure you want to spend two hours there. If you're really into the Titanic graveyard you'll need a car to get there (taxi or tour). Otherwise, if you're in good shape you can walk the Halifax Boardwalk and most of the downtown and visit The Citadel (does require a good walk uphill) on your own.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Mitchell. We’re glad you found your driver friendly and accommodating, and we appreciate your comments about the tour. Peggy’s Cove is indeed a scenic coastal stop — but as you mentioned, the experience can vary depending on weather conditions. Our tours are designed to provide flexibility, allowing guests to explore comfortably regardless of season.
While our drivers focus on sharing local stories and key historical insights during the scenic drive, Peggy’s Cove itself is an explore-on-your-own location — giving travelers the freedom to enjoy the lighthouse, local shops, and coastal beauty at their own pace. We’re glad you still found value in your private experience and hope you’ll visit again on a warmer day to see Nova Scotia at its best.

We were picked up in a comfortable limo. The driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and helped my husband since he is somewhat disabled. A great time was had by all.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted you enjoyed a comfortable ride and that our guide could make the experience easier for your husband. It’s wonderful to hear everyone had a great time — we’d love to welcome you again on another tour!
