Jonathan did a wonderful job as our guide. I feel like it would’ve been easy for them to cancel the tour because my husband and I were the ones booked. We are very grateful it wasn’t cancelled. Jonathan was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He also has a good sense of humor. We really enjoyed the outing.

That the tour guide Jonathan is very accommodating, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and very humble.
He goes to all ends to make sure everyone has a good time. I was with My 83-year-old Dad who he made sure was always good. It was a cold day, and he made sure he was staying warm. When returning to the pier it was a very long line and he offered to wait in line for us so we could stay warm in Van. We declined but he still stayed with us to make sure. We loved this tour and we highly recommend booking especially if on a cruise ship. They are aware of the time, and you get close pier pick up and drop off.

Our guide Jonathan was amazing! He took great care of us from start to finish. Very informative (and fun) dialogue. We loved all the stops, especially Peggy’s Cove-so charming! Our guide recommended a wonderful restaurant that we thoroughly enjoyed (beer and lobster, enough said!) Viator was great to work with, awesome communication and booking process. Thanks for a great experience!

Aberdeen Tours over promised and under delivered The tour guide had very little knowledge of certain parts of the tours, especially the Titanic Cemetery.

Joel the bus driver was great. The tour operator however woul start a story and stop. Finally heard the entire story of the Christmas tree to Boston!! Talked about a memorial for a plane crash in have no idea where , what side of the bus to look for it. The cemetery we were told there it is get off the bus!! We listened to another tour guide point out interesting facts!!! She spent a lot of time talking to people up front asking questions we would hear an answer and laughter have no idea what they were talking about. Very disappointed. Very confusing finding the tour also in the rain walked back and forth for a while. Peggy's Cove was beautiful again told to get off the bus here we are.

This tour was a complete disappointment and a total waste of time. Boarding was clearly stated to be between 12:00 and 12:30 PM. My friends and I arrived early at 11:50 AM, yet every single seat on the bus was already taken. That means the tour was either oversold or people were allowed to board without tickets — both completely unacceptable. We paid for this experience and never even got a seat. We were offered the option of riding behind the tour bus in a taxi, without a tour guide. This company clearly lacks organization and respect for its paying customers. Avoid this tour at all costs!

Please, responding to emails or phone calls is very crucial. Most people did not respond to the voicemail or emails we sent them, only to show up up at the Pier. We have been doing this for 25 years and I can attest that this is not how we operate to be in business this long.

We liked the stops but the guided tour portion was a mess. It started late and the vibes were off from the get go. We were waiting a while for additional passengers and everyone was very antsy because what was supposed to be a 5 hour tour, the guide said we would make it back just in time before our ship was supposed to leave which caused concern. Also would e made it 7 hours! In addition, the guide we had was very disjointed and was not clear with instructions. Meeting places was unclear. She didn't keep us on track and give us way too much time in certain places and not enough in others. The bus driver wasn't helpful either and both seemed to not know what was going on or who was in the group. The guide would start stories and lose her thought and then start talking about the foliage (she mentioned it at least 15 times). A lot of her stories had nothing to do with anything and contradicted historical facts. In reading reviews, it sounds like it's good with Jonathan but if you don't get him - you might be out of luck. At this point, I would e paid extra to get a more private guide.

The tour operator was excellent with communication beforehand, informing us where to meet and what to look for. The bus was clean and comfortable with wifi available. Our driver, Robert, was an expert at navigating some of the narrow roadways and was always so welcoming. Mamie, our tour guide, was amazing knowledgeable about all facets of Halifax and surrounding area history and folklure. She makes time to speak with everyone on the tour and her manner of speaking is easy to understand over the bus intercom. The stops, as outlined in the itinerary, were very good; we just wish we would have had a bit more time at Peggys Cove. Overall, it was a great tour.

Unfortunately we left before the tour finished. It got off to an awful start and was a half hour late leaving the port. We waiting on people that couldn’t locate the bus. After we were full we left to our first stop with vlear instructions to be back to bus in 30 min. Once again, people couldn’t locate bus, didn’t plan or were so old they couldn’t move and we ended up almost another half hour late. The tour didn’t start until 12 and we were scheduled to be on the ship by 730 that evening no later. The bus driver said we should be back by 730. Clearly the organizers were not doing a good job keeping things on schedule and I’m sorry to say the bus was full of older people who had a hard time getting around. So by the second stop we made the decision to bail and walk back. We were honesty afraid we wouldn’t make it back to the ship on time and there was ZERO urgency with the guide to get people moving ! The whole thing was a huge disappointment !

Jonathan was just amazing. I appreciated all of his knowledge & kindness throughout the tour. It was the perfect mixture of riding/listening to stories & exploring on our own. Shaw’s Landing for lunch was also delicious! Highly recommend the entire experience!

The cruise ship changed their itinerary and that really messed up things, as we spent the whole day sending emails and phone calls. Some responded and some did not, only to show up at the Pier. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We were told the bus would leave at 12:30 in front of pier 22. It was there at 11 and a good 200 feet away from the front door of the pier . My group got on except for me and my friend and about 5 other people from another group. We were told there were no more seats and we should have been there earlier. The bus, marked Markie Bus Tours, (not Aberdeen Tours, had a placard in the window that read Maritime museum where we were not going. We were put in a cab which followed the bus to the first stop. The other 5 people left and were very unhappy to say the least. Miraculously, we were then told that two seats opened up on the bus and we finished the tour in the bus. The guide was a nice person but her delivery of facts and stories was very disjointed and rambling and at times very boring. I have used your company twice before without incident, but this was a total disaster.

Great narrative! It was a bit more time on the bus than I hoped. Our ship didn’t dock til afternoon so the ride back was dark and couldn’t enjoy the scenery.

Dont miss the historic part of the city. This tour included that plus peggys cove. Make sure to go by Toms for a lobster roll. Great overall experience

Jonathan was absolutely incredible! We were fortunate enough to just have a group of 5 and he showed us so many amazing things in Halifax and surrounding areas! He is so knowledgeable and so kind. The lighthouse at Peggy's cove was stunning, but we also saw so much more and learned so much about Nova Scotia. I highly, highly recommend Jonanthan and this tour. You WILL NOT be disappointed!
