It can be tough to fit visits to Nova Scotia’s most popular attractions into one day on your own. On this full-day small-group tour, hop aboard a minivan with hotel pickup and let your driver-guide deliver you to the Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse for panoramic views of the Nova Scotia coastline, the UNESCO World Heritage Site town of Lunenburg, as well as a few hidden gems along the way that most tourists miss.

Duration: 8-9 hours Start Time: 8:00 AM Pick-Ups: 7:00–8:00 AM (emailed out, shortly after 4:00 PM (Atlantic) the day before your tour - between Halifax pennisula & Bayer's Lake) Return to Halifax: Approx. 4:00–6:00 PM (return times not guaranteed due to traffic, construction, etc.) IMPORTANT: Your driver may arrive a few minutes earlier or later than scheduled due to traffic or prior guest pick-ups, so we kindly ask that you be ready and waiting at least 10 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time. The driver will wait up to 5 minutes after the scheduled time before moving on to the remaining guests and beginning the day. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be provided for missed pick-ups, so we appreciate your cooperation in being ready on time. A minimum of 2 guests is required for this tour to operate. You are welcome to bring a water bottle and please consider bringing sun protection. We pick up from all Hotels/Motels/AirBNB's between Halifax peninsula and Bayer's Lake (if you are staying outside of these areas, please contact us to work out a pick-up location within our pick-up range that you can meet us at) We do not pick up at the Port of Halifax (cruise ship terminals). Guests arriving on cruise ships are responsible for ensuring they can meet their tour on time. We ask all cruise passengers to meet at the Westin Nova Scotian (1181 Hollis St, Halifax), so please enter this as your pickup location when booking. Pickup could be as early as 7:00 AM. A specific return time to the Westin Nova Scotian is not guaranteed and typically falls between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. We do not take responsibility for missed pickups or missed cruise ship departures.

Mike, our driver/ guide, is warm, hospitable & knowledgeable. All was well organised despite a traffic jam. We also got to learn about the life of the locals. The hidden gem at Blue Rock was fascinating.

Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg and several other stops. Very knowledgeable tour guide/driver. Mike knew his stuff and was a very safe driver. Full day but was totally worth it. Small group was the way to go. Would highly recommend this tour.

If you are looking for those little offbeat but really cool places to see (you know, the ones that the hop on hop off tours don't take you), then this tour is a must! Mike was an amazing tour guide, very chill and very knowledgeable. 1000% recommend this tour!

This was an excellent tour. I thought the owners were accommodating and very pleasant. Mike was an excellent guide and took pains to ensure we had the best experience possible. He showed us things that many tour groups don’t see and offered great recommendations for our free time. He also gave us useful background information while we were en route.

Mike was an incredible tour guide. His knowledge was robust and he was very personable. We learned a lot on our trip. He also has a good strategy for beating the crowds at Peggy’s Cove and had a couple not-on-other-tours locations to make the trip feel special and unique. Highly recommend!

We have done many guided tours all over the world, several of them in Canada. How good a tour is, is largely influenced by the guide and the group, and in this case things just weren’t a good vibe.
Pretty much from the start our guide Mike focused his attention on one part of the group, a family from Ontario. He had lived in Ontario before and they pretty much had a private conversation for about 3/4s of the ride. I swear I heard more about Toronto and Ontario than I did about Nova Scotia.
In fact we heard very little about the area and if there was any information conveyed at all, it was more about pop culture like celebrity homes or ghost stories than actual information.
We had done a tour like this 2 years ago and had learned so much about the history and nature of the area that this tour just left us very disappointed in this regard.
I understand that Mike hasn’t been doing this for very long, so I hope there is room for improvement.
As the only non-Canadians on this tour we often felt completely excluded as Mike often shifted conversation to his private life or things like property tax and sport teams, which a non-local might not be able to contribute to or have an interest in. Paired with the fact that we were seated all the way in the back and there was no effort made to ever included us in any conversation, we kind of checked out at some point.
The tour itself was well planned and the timing for the different destinations is perfect. We arrived in Peggy’s Cove before the tour buses and had the light house almost all to ourselves. We had a good amount of time in Lunenburg and with The Ovens Natural Park Supernova Tours offers a destination no other tour company has on their itinerary. We wished we had a few more minutes there and found it well worth the visit.
Mike is also a very safe driver.
Overall we were happy with the different stops of the tour, but our guide could have done a better job. We felt like we paid 400$ be a fifth wheel on somebody’s private road trip, which was a disappointing end to our time in Canada.

Unfortunately, it seems you were unhappy from the start due to sitting in the back row (with an empty seat between you) and you declined both the offer for alternate seating and the use of the microphone system. You also chose to be disengaged, and it was not appreciated that you laughed and mocked the local folklore and history of the locations visited, which impacted the overall group experience.
Guests from Ontario and Alberta were also on the tour. Our guide naturally engaged with them during conversation while driving between stops, and there was some brief discussion about both Ontario and Alberta, but this was simply part of normal travel conversation and not part of the tour content. Our guide attempted to engage with you on several occasions, though you made it clear you did not want to participate in any conversation about the attractions we were visiting or life in Nova Scotia or Canada. Group questions led to discussions on topics such as local life, Canadian sports, and taxes, and our guide is always friendly and happy to share insights about Nova Scotia.
Our tours are designed as small-group adventure experiences to showcase Nova Scotia’s South Shore from a local perspective. Guides strive to create an enjoyable, inclusive experience for everyone while accommodating individual preferences whenever possible. We are sorry that you did not fully enjoy the tour and understand it perhaps wasn’t the right fit for you, but we appreciate your review and the opportunity to use all guest feedback to continue improving our tours.

This is a lovely day outing that takes you to a couple of off-the-beaten path sites: the Bern Art Maze, Hirtle Beach, and best of all the Sea Caves. The Bern Art Maze is quirky fun. Hirtle Beach is really beautiful. The sea caves involve a beautiful, mild hike above a set of sea caves with the opportunity to go down into the mouth of one of them.

Door-to-door pick-up and drop-off is very convenient for us tourists who live in remote areas. The design of the scenic spots is very reasonable, avoiding the peak tourist periods. One can take beautiful photos there. The recommended seafood restaurant is also very delicious!

What a terrific tour! Mike is personable and knowledgeable of the Halifax area. It was a real treat to have a small group and allowed more time at places we were interested in. The Ovens sea cave area was an unexpected beauty. And I did not have to drive!
