It was a great trip to the Island. The things they should elaborate on is the check in isn’t at 1715 Lower Water Street. It is right next to the cows ice cream shop on the water front. That address is also on the ticket. Eliminate the 1715 address. The other thing is I wish the tour ad explained that you can spend as much or as little time on the island. The boat comes and goes throughout the day dropping off and picking up.

Worked out well two seniors, daughter and two grandchildren ages four and nine. They loved the treasure hunt. We managed through the tunnels just fine. Recommend good footwear and make sure you bring water and snacks.

Perfect adventure with my 5 yr old grandson. Everything about it was terrific. Just the right length of time and scale for a wonderful morning adventure right in the city. Boat ride was great, George’s Island is gorgeous, and the tour of Fort Charlotte was engaging and informative. We loved it all.

This was a great experience for our family! The ferry is quick and easy and staff were great. The island itself was beautiful and the informational plaques throughout were very helpful. The guided tour of the tunnels was excellent and taught us a lot!

Expect what you expected as far a knowledge, professionalism and wonderful atmosphere. Nnilah was the best we could ask for as far as all the above. the kindness that she showed and family feeling did nto go un noticed. we were comfortable fro the get go.

Well organised, pleasant ferry ride around island before docking, interesting place and guides explained well

Great time! Staff at both the check in kiosk and the boat were very friendly. Just keep in mind you have to be a little earlier than your departure time to make sure you get to the boat on time.
Smooth sailing, we did a circle of the island before we docked. 10/10

Lovely views of the Halifax waterfront and interesting tour of the island and its tunnels. The tour guide was very good and the interpretative panels were well done. The departure location was not easy to find and this should be more clearly explained when one purchases a ticket.

Well, we read the brochure on the ferry trip over. I, personally did not realize the part George’s Island played, not only in Nova Scotia history but really a part in Canadian history.

This is a hidden gem that more people should go and visit! The tour guides were excellent. The tunnels were well kept.

If you love history this is a go! A short time on the island though well worth it. Would recommend for sure.

Chock full of history, and great access to the tunnels and underground armaments! Affordable excursion and well worth the time spent!

Very friendly, laid-back & accommodating staff on the boat & the island. Great tunnel tour, full of interesting information. Learned some new things that I hadn't already known (or remembered) from other tours. Like the option to buy a ticket for whatever time suits you, and then stay until the last boat. We stayed for two hours, but nice to know you could extend that if you wished, by going over earlier. Reminder to travellers that there are toilets on the island but no running water, so be sure to bring water (or snacks) if needed.

Short boat ride that circled the island. That was good. Geoges Island was wonderful to see. Not very busy!

Interesting history of the island. Enjoyed the tour of the tunnels, which was about 15 minutes. There is a remaining time was walking around the island. Lots of information.

The trip was amazing. I would highly recommend it. It wasn't over priced like every thing else. Great Job to ambassadors tours for making this an amazing experience.

It's super interesting, if you visit Halifax I would recommend taking the tour. Nova Scotia has a lot of history, and it's worth it to go have a look.

Easy experience. Ferry ram smoothly and on time. The self-guided tour was great, loved being able to move at my own pace.

We booked last minute and were so happy to experience George’s Island. It was really interesting and tunnel
Tour at the island was so cool. We really recommend going there.

Some hills need to be maneuvered so anyone in a wheel chair may not be able to visit. Also tunnels and stairs cannot be accessed for anyone with disabilities. I enjoyed this so much
LYNN_C, Aug 2025
Great visit - ferry was punctual and then you're free to wander around on a self guided tour. Glad we joined the tunnel tour which was informative and well done...

This was essentially a tour boat out to George’s Island, then self guided exploration of the site. The boat circled the island before coming in to dock, so everyone had a good view of the site and the city before stopping to explore the island. The island had several buildings, and some remains of Fort Charlotte, which I didn’t e en realize was there! There was a free guided tour through tunnels that are part of the Fort, but we didn’t do it, though we caught a bit of it at one of the tours ends. All in all a great simple little tour that we very much enjoyed.

Crew was professional and friendly, short voyage was relaxing, and flexibility of return times allowed for personalized time for exploration of the island.

I had an amazing. Even thought it rained during the tour, it was neat to go through the historic Georges Island.

Fast check-in. Great ride there and back. Friendly staff. Ferries were on time. Island was very interesting and great views from the island.
Janett_H, Oct 2024
The boat circles the entire island before it docks you see the full view. You can wander the island on your own and take a guided tour through the tunnels. Beautiful and interesting place to visit. You can stay on the island until the last boat leaves. There is a Parks Canada employee at the dock as well to answer any questions. There is an outhouse by the dock as well.
