Had a beautiful day out on the water with Capt Jake. Seas were smooth and everyone caught multiple fish, especially Cod! Jake was very attentive to each of us and provided a lot of knowledge of fishing and the area. Great experience and would definitely do it again if ever in Halifax! Highlight of our trip!

I had a great time fishing with the Sea Halifax fishing tour back in September, there was lots of action out on the water! Shout-out to Brandon for getting a hold of me and booking me onto the earlier chartered tour the night before when I was originally booked to go out at 4 pm on Sept., 8th. He offered me the 11 am time departure, so I went on that one and it was able to free up my afternoon afterwards.
Johnathan was my fishing guide that took our group out on the tour, he is very knowledgeable and knows where the hot spots are for landing the big fish. The boat is equipped with all your fishing gear, rods, lures and life jackets, so you don't need to worry about bring your own tackle gear, nor do you have to buy a fishing license prior to going out. It's all included in the tour.
The spot we ventured out to was about a 20 minute boat ride southwest of the Halifax Harbour and Waterfront where we were catching both mackerel and cod. Everyone else had a head start in catching mackerel, but I was one of the first to land the big cods on the line.
I ended up landing 4 mackerel and 4 cods each, with the biggest fish I caught was as much as 5 to 8 lbs!
The fishing was mostly catch and release (at least for the bigger cod fish), but for the 1 to 2 lb mackerel you were able to keep if you wanted to. But for this excursion it was mostly sport fishing.
Only downside I experienced on the fishing tour was getting seasick (which is no fault of the chartered tour, so I was able to stick it out to the end), so your best bet is to make sure you have enough to eat and take some Gravol prior to setting out to sea. The wave currents on the ocean is a whole different animal than being out on a freshwater lake.
Overall, I enjoyed my time out on the water with Sea Halifax and would definitely recommend the two hour fishing experience if you want to land the big catch!

The waves were really rocking, but the experience was worth it. I got to fish for the first time in years and even caught a bigger fish than my husband. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. He really took the time to get to know us and make sure we had everything we needed.

Though they couldn’t find our reservation when we arrived, it was quickly remedied and handled in a professional manner. Our fishing tour guide, Carter was amazing! We had five adults and four kids ages 12,8,5&5 with us that were all keen to fish! He was so helpful to them and encouraging! He was very knowledgeable and knew the names of each fish we caught. We caught about 15 fish. He helped us to pack up a bag of the fish we caught which we enjoyed when we got back to our home. The boat was in great shape and the fishing equipment well cared for. Though it was rough seas from the recent hurricane, we still had a great and successful trip! Would recommend!

Great experience, left on time - came back on time, caught lots of fish, all 3 we were “hunting” for! Captain Jonny was wonderful, kind, fun & made catching feel exciting. Would absolutely recommend. Only add to this would be to include better directions to the dock - maybe a photo of the launch site, but we found it ok!

The Lebanese captain was very professional in sailing and finding fishing spots. Please forgive me, I can’t spell his name, but I had a long and pleasant conversation with him about how to get a boating license, how much it costs to buy a boat, and the banking work we do. I caught a seven-day silver fish, which was a very enjoyable and unexpected experience.

Clayton was awesome. He brought us to the fishing spots quickly and as soon as the we put the line in the water we caught fish. The water was a little rocky but not his fault. There was an issue with the leg on the seat on the back of the boat. All in all, it was a great time.

My dad and I had an amazing time fishing in Halifax. Our guide, Jake, is awesome. He took great care of the two of us and the other five guests. He knew all of the best fishing spots and talked to us all about Halifax and Nova Scotia, which we really enjoyed. We caught many, many fish and two members of our group caught huge cod! We really enjoyed our time and it was amazing to be so close to Halifax yet seemingly so far out on the water. My dad and I recommend this trip 100%, particularly for the fisher who doesn't like to get "fishy" as Jake took care of all of the dirty work and we had such a great time! Thanks so much!

With bad traffic due to construction in Halifax, we were running late for our fishing trip. We reached out and let them know through the app and thankfully and graciously they waited for us to arrive. The employees were great and found a nice spot despite the weather to fish for the full time. They helped people reel in or use the net to get the fish into the boat. The removed the hooks from the fish, took pictures when appropriate and release the fish back into the sea. It was a great experience. The only suggestion I would have is adding the ability to keep the fish and have them gut, prep and ship them to you for a fee.
